YES!] We have already created that. Live Notifications. And it’s very cool.

They will not only tell you that you have a message, but they will also tell you that someone replied to your post! .. who followed you and much more… while you’re reading and browsing the site!

We have tested it, but it’s kinda heavy and demanding on the site, but it’s scheduled for a full release. You may see us testing it out during non-peak times to see if members like it or hate it. More on this shortly…..

That being said, I have a thought that I feel may be important.
I have noticed quite a few men here who may be in difficult straits mentally but as with men – not be able to open up.

Would it be a possibility to have a dedicated section where men with really really bad issues can try to express their problems and possibly get help from fellow MGHOWs. Although the other forums do have this type of help, the problem is most of us see these comments in passing.

I like to think we stopped someone from committing suicide or something just as bad.

I am of the opinion that while the idea is commendable, it is almost entirely uneccesary.

First, there is the issue of privacy. Any matter that requires that much attention may be better addressed with 1:1 correspondence. *Plus, one can get the extra benefit of utilizing/exercising their MGTOW email if they so chose.

Secondly, posting an issue in a central area also means giving the trolls a target.. while admin had been doing a damn good job of keeping them at bay, it usually takes a moment to weed them out. In the meantime, you don’t need them trolling that particular thread aiming to do harm in an already dire situation.

In short.. I think it would do more harm than good. Besides, KM and the fellas have already saved more than a few souls on occasion if I remember correctly… no need to change the formula of an already successful recipe so dramatically… but that’s just mho.

Out of curiosity, how hard would it be to implement a notification system for 1 to 1 messages? Would it be possible to change the color of the icon to reflect unread messages, or maybe a small font number in one of the corners of the message icon? I realize it’s always easier said then done, there’s the idea of coding said feature, on top of the possibility of taxing what must certainly be an already front-loaded piece of hardware/software…

We have done it already. A live notification system which (as you’re browsing the site) which bring up a little “bell” and red number alerting you to new messages, a private message, a reply to your forum topic etc.

We have been testing them out during non-peak times and found it to be heavy if there were more than 50 members reading the forums. So we are working out how to make it appear on certain pages instead of on every page view.

This way you can pop over to your profile or the forums index to check your alerts. Just a couple of dumb technical things to work out, and some more testing, but it’s extremely cool. Will be for Ghost and Galt members for sure.

For the record KM. I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S Pro tablet. The Fire Screen Saver looks GD phenomenal and the app works like a charm. OUTSTANDING JOB!! It’s more like a gorgeous display of artwork if I may say so myself.

Here’s a silly thing… you know the background video on the main page? From time to time I end up opening the page and the BOOOMMMMFWWOOOOOSSSHHH sound scares the hell out of me if I don’t expect it. Especially if it’s after midnight and it’s dead silent over here.

Don’t get me wrong, the video is awesome, just as the design of the website overall. I don’t think it should be removed. I’ll see if I can pause it somehow, maybe with an extension.

So if there is extra traffic from or the vandals came from GB…
