Sky – I think you skipped Instagram (is that the same as Pinterest??) . I think that is the new FB for these bubble brains. In my travels of seeking any digital scraps relating to my daughters (early 20ish) I have have spent hours of research here. College girls – families with money – still pages largely populated with “look at me, I have cleavage and my $200 jeans have more holes than fabric”. And then the fawning comments – “You are amazing” “So beautiful” “savage” etc. And 99% of these comments from other girls. Honestly, I don’t think we need a mod so much as a system to downvote a thread and when it reaches a certain threshold, it just gets moved to the litter box and people stop getting automatic notifications about new posts on the thread. I used to be a moderator on forums a decade back and it’s a tremendous amount of work. You spend more time swatting flies than actually contributing to the community, and then when something goes wrong or if some idiot deletes their thread, you get blamed for it until you can dig up server logs.

The best function for moderators on this site, as I see it, is purely to be able to eject, or to mute, properly troublesome members who are literally ruining the forum.

Rereading the article, another thought occurs.

The writer says that MGTOW.com is an ‘echo chamber’.

Wrong.

What the writer has done is to impose their female perspective on us. It is females who form a collective (the hive), display no originality and desperately seek validation from the group.

This begs for the question: what do these men want to take from the MGTOW experience? In a sense, it is a therapeutic experience; one that gives direction and meaning to the bitterness and solitude felt by these men. A place where men can share their grief and frustration, which, at the same time, is also governed by the intrinsic limitations that define the specificity of this community.

Notice how they always try to control the narrative even when they have zero control. Their attempt to infiltrate and get an understanding was skin deep. They took no effort upon themselves to really find out why we are here.

The answers that none of these infiltrators can admit to:

Society is gynocentric.
Law and the system is hostile to men when there is a woman involved.
Men can lose everything they worked for their entire lives, on a whim, if the wife decides she wants to leave the marriage.
The woman can then profit while the man ends up in poverty.

The woman can put the man in jail with false allegations.
When the woman gets caught lying about allegations, she typically gets away Scott free- sometimes they profit after getting caught lying.

And so I began communicating with the regular folks on “the other site”.

I think that all of us overreacted (I was simply busy to save our text content) but I now post my analysis and justifications members have for going over the top.

And that feeling of abandonment hit those with high “star counts” the most. Simply those who were emotionally invested in the deepest way.

So members “over-ran” KM with insults, deadlines and so on. And this sometimes looked like it escalated and the outcomes (bitch threads and profile deletes) signaled to others that “nobody cares” about the long time regulars.

I then saw an avalanche of s~~~ which caused a logarithmic slide in disenchantment towards this site. That’s how the public eye always works BTW.

If KM is an “alien” now, most likely due to stress… (Bottle feeding my 7 cats)

My suggestion for the next time: Make a second temporary installation of a (basic) forum on a temporary (sub)domain. Just a virgin forum without the old threads, but so the show can go on while the main place is under construction.

And let participants move over (no need for long sign-up intros and stuff…)
