While we were locked out, in these 3 weeks – we made friends outside of here too, which is a good thing. And I always liked the other place too (since 2016).

But I was really worried about this site being abandoned and rumors were out about a “controlled demolition” and a possible shutdown soon.

I am so glad that all will go on.

Totally worried about the survival of the site, I downloaded all 47024 threads as HTML text to save our work in case this site ends up as 404. (Tell me if I missed some)
It all looked like that to the public eye and sadly, a lot of the reputation is lost.

Well we are all damaged goods around here: Used to banning, switching off platforms, terminating YouTube channels from one day to the next…

We MGTOW are traditionally used to being “abandoned”, “censored” and being “switched off”.

And thus have become very sensitive towards anything fishy.

And we thought that “they” – the system – had gotten to you too. (Your radio silence fed this flame)

I thought that something like this might have happened:

It was a relief to have the other site even if I was just lurking.
I would have joined too, but they need an intro, which is fair enough.
They’ve never insisted I do an intro here so I’ve never made one.

No one knew what was really going on. Right up till August 2nd I could only access this site through a TOR browser. I was getting 403 forbidden error page through Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

It was great that Gargamel went to so much trouble to preserve the site. I downloaded his MGTOW ark (and made copies) which I felt at the time was something similar to the Book of Eli because with so many people and places across the net being shut down and removed, we didn’t really know if it had happened here. There’s a very real possibility/probability it could still happen. Again, it was a great relief to get and preserve a copy.

Great to see so many familiar faces.

Only 203 MB but if you unzip it, it takes 6.2 GB.

I now find it a fast way to go through old threads that are buried in the depths of MGTOW Central.

In “Central” you have to click 1100 times right or left to reach the center of the 2186 link pages.
That is impossible to do for a human and all affordable windows crawlers crash during this task. A link depth of 1100 is just insanity.

And so I wrote rule tables with direct links to these pages at a spacing of 12-13 pages so all of my 6 crawlers (on 3 PC’s) would cover them all.

Added all together, there were 47024 threads and 81000+ html files in the final product.

Now you have 47024 threads in one directory and Windows displays them in alphabetical order.

And the Windows search mask finds topics at lightning speed. All links on the HTML files lead to the original MGTOW.com, so you can read the thread in all of it’s glory.

But my “naked and ugly” html files still contain all embedded videos and pictures.

I will also upload a RAR version which will then be around 1.4 GB.

Using zip was a bad idea, since Windows has native zip support and almost freezes when you handle the file. (It tries to open it for preview and the 200000 elements then give you the eternal sand-clock)

To delete it, I had to put it in a folder and then delete that folder.

Now I have an old but healthy WD RE3 500 GB disk with all crawls and downloads on it. And a backup of the same type.

I will now start collecting websites too.

As my knowledge and arsenal grows.

It’s good to see you and others logging in now and I’m now SO delighted it’s working. My non-presence in the forums is not a bad sign at all. It means I’m handling something else. Tomorrow we will be pushing the new account/settings page and fixing broadcast notices… and then private messaging etc. There’s a super sticky thread with more details if you’re interested.

What kept me from posting there was that they have a mandatory introduction and this is like a well aged New York Taxi Driver having to re-do his driving license because he applies for a second job.

But now we can see it positively. I have been wanting to post over there too and now I was forced to go through the vetting procedure and became a member.

There are a lot of good guys and smart posts over there too and I was lurking very often. A good site with a lot less troll s~~~. (Sorry KM, but you often let trolls run around like c~~~roaches)

Now it’s good to know that we have 2 legs to stand on and have an alternative means of communication in case one breaks down. (Like it happened here)
