People often ask, how or why they can ruin something like Star Wars? The answer is simple, they want to ruin star wars intentionally. The makers of Hollywood movies hate everything about you and the culture in which you came. They love demoralizing you and ruining the things you held dear at some point. They want you hopeless. They want you destroyed.

That says a lot.
Episode I had problems but the film was trying to find its footing. The main problem was Anakin was to young. Other than that, the movie was not that bad.
For those whom want to understand why The Last Jedi is so bad, here is a good example: https://www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-fi/star_wars/spoilers-star-wars-the-last-jedi-here-are-5-story-tidbits-you-didnt-know-about-the-film-a156438
Director Rian Johnson stated he found the friendship between Finn and Poe to be BORING.
You can say a lot of things both good and bad about The Force Awakens, but most people agree the chemistry between John Boyega (Finn) and Oscar Isaac (Poe) on screen was AWESOME. The chemistry for Finn and Poe was as good in that film as Riggs and Murtaugh from the Lethal Weapon films.
This shows how tone-deaf the director of The Last Jedi was to what the audience wanted.

Those in Hollywood and elsewhere have been open about that for over a year now. Since President Trump was elected their hatred for the American people has been nonstop. But, every time one of these Anti-American bigots pulls s~~~ like this is bites them in the ass.
If you do not believe me, take a look at the NFL. Their Anti-American stances are costing them billions of dollars.
I hear that The Last Jedi needs $800 million to break even. Disney will likely make that, but to have a profit the movie needs to hit it big in China.
I read that The Last Jedi has yet to premiere in China. The clear asian pandering in that film is likely not going to go over well with the southeastern asian audiences. The film introduces Rose (asian) solely as a plot device to have a relationship with Finn and get killed. The southeastern asian audiences are likely not going to accept the black and asian relationship, especially one coming from left field.
In addition, those doing this anti-Star Wars s~~~ with The Last Jedi likely do not realize this is a bad time to do this for Disney. Disney is in a $52 billion dollar deal to by 21st Century Fox. Disney do not need to lose money and deal with s~~~ like this right now.

I hope they’ll preemptively try to buy 21st Century Fox with that $52 Billion deal, they get it and then the money from The Last Jedi drops so bad in Asia that they go deep into the red, and have to close shop or sell stuff. Like their Star Wars license. Because it seems eminently clear that they have no love for Star Wars.
The fact comes from two sources; how much EA f~~~ed up Star Wars Battlefield II (and Disney knew and probably approved the hated micro-transactions, and the fans went apes~~~ over it), and how much Disney approved of the movies (The last Jedi among others).

I believe that is wishful thinking. Disney never, ever sells the IPs it owns.

This only shows the many problems Disney is having with the Star Wars IP.
Another point about The Last Jedi. I read Finn is portrayed as a coward.
In the first movie, Finn was not the coward, such as much as the cowardly lion whom finally found his courage at the end of the when he stands up and fights Kylo. While Finn lost that battle, it was still an awesome scene for him.
I finally get it. The Force Awakens is A New Hope meet The Wizard of Oz. Rey is Dorothy. Finn is the Cowardly Lion. Poe is the Scarecrow looking for ‘intelligence’, BB-8 is a cross between the Tin Man and Toto the dog, and Luke at the end of the film is the Wizard of OZ.
LOL!!
On other subject of lost potential. In The Force Awakens it was strongly hinted that Finn was force sensitive. Of course this plot like was dropped in The Last Jedi the only think the SJW feminists hate as much as a ‘strong white man’ is a ‘strong black man’.
Me personally. I am a Mace Windu, lando calrissian, and Black Dynamite fan… Yes. I am ‘white’.

Nope. They want your money.
The answer, is no.

Insulting people is a strange way to ask for money.

I’m not defending the SJW bulls~~~ in these movies, or the quality of the filmmaking…that said, Disney is good at making money.
The answer, is no.
Pic didn’t copy on my last post.
Anyways…here’s Disney’s stock value over the last 50 years.

Like it or not, they know how to “ask for money”.
The answer, is no.
Here is the latest on this train wreck: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-et-mn-star-wars-last-jedi-spoilers-20171218-htmlstory.html
Director Rian Johnson claims to have wrote the script for “The Last Jedi” before “The Force Awakens” come out. At this point I wonder if the director even saw “The Force Awakens”. It is reported he threw out everything in The Force Awakens that was good. The reason is clear that he could have his own story.
This is turning into a long list of things not to do when working on the sequel of a franchise film series.
You people are foaming at the mouth because of Star Wars. A f~~~ing kiddie movie used to sell Happy Meals and Lego sets has you all worked up.
You’re not angry about divorce laws, child custody laws, quotas, unequal sentencing, unequal health funding, the male suicide epidemic, or the thousands of other things grinding down your lives but are angry that they didn’t make a live action cartoon the way you wanted it made.
Absolutely f~~~ing pathetic.
Huxley was worried we’d end up be controlled by being endlessly distracted by trivial nonsense.
Enjoy your distractions, sheep.
F~~~ing Star Wars… Supposed adults worked up over Star Wars… I don’t know whether to laugh or vomit.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
Re Disney’s success: you can interpret that a few ways – I suspect a big amount of that is due to Pixar. I could say, “they rely on Pixar and LucasFilm because they’re out of ideas”, but I have to admit, they did some good (or at least popular) movies like Frozen. (Moana was popular but my God, what an SJW fest – every male character negative, every female positive, including the female Big Bad who was just a woman who was hurt by a man, and when he made amends she was fine).
I read Finn is portrayed as a coward.
Dude, go and see the film.
Everyone else, keep away, you’re not missing anything but pain.
Sorry for the double post but couldn’t get nested quotes to work:

Well, #1 is interesting – it was originally meant to be the Finn-and-Poe buddy movie a lot of people wanted after VII, but they gave Finn a female sidekick, and left Poe to be ‘put in his place’ by Laura Dern. In both cases, the script was sent back for ‘more wimminz!’
(The explanation of the mirror scene makes sense of the scene, but does not make sense of why none of it made sense to Rey. That was nonsensical).
EDIT: @oldbill – normally I love your work, but don’t tell us how to mourn our childhoods.

No people are upset due to being publicly insulted.
A while ago, the President of Lucasfilm made a statement which was a thinly veiled sexist insult towards men, especially men whom are long time Star Wars fans, when she said that Star Wars was not made for them.
This is the same level of insult as when Obama told the hard workers of America that “they didn’t build it”, meaning the American workers did not deserve any credit for any achievements they had made.
The Last Jedi film was made to be an insult to many people on many levels.
The film was a clear insult towards white men with the dialog and scenes being decide to portray “white men” as bad. Even the “white man” hero of The Force Awakens, Poe, is made to be belittled and insulted in this movie.
The film was an insult to not just long time Star Wars fans but new fans that came on board from The Force Awakens by throwing out all the potential of The Force Awakens to create a mary sue powerful with a plot to elevate women through belittling men.
The film was even an insult to those whom worked on Star Wars. For example, Mark Hamill whom clearly did not know his character was killed until he saw the scene in the premiere. I can only imagine the hurt, pain, and embarrassment he felt that he had to contain during the screening of the film.
Also, others were insults. Such as JJ Abrams whom oversaw The Force Awakens and he created a lot of potential which Rein clearly ignored.
Well, JJ is going to oversee the writing and directing of Episode 9. I would not be surprised if he returns the favor and throws out the events of Episode 8 and starts over where Episode 7 The Force Awakens left off.
When someone insults you and uses something you like to do so, and you did nothing to provoke this reaction, one has a right upset.
They wanted to troll the fanbase and stir the hornets. Well they go their wish. Now they will reap the whirlwind.
And what a whirlwind it is becoming.
These fools do not understand how broad the Star Wars fanbase is. Everyone from the poor, to soldiers, to business men, to Presidents, to even Kings, are Star Wars fans. Watching a character and the actor whom played the character be insulted is an insult also towards the fans.
You may not remember this but forty years ago everyone whom saw Star Wars liked Luke. In Episode 4, he was a bit of a brat. Episode 5 he got a little arrogant until Vader defeated him. In Episode 6 he was like a zen master. It was a great story arc.
The Last Jedi is a slap in the face to that storyarc.
There are three rules for fandom.
Rule One: Do not mess with Tolkien fans.
Rule Two: Do not mess with Trekkies.
Rule Three: Do not mess with Star Wars fans.
They broke rule three.

No, they certainly hate a certain group of people and honestly don’t care about their money. They have an entire new crop of sheep to fleece. They can simultaneously give a big f~~~ you to one group while pandering and making money of another group.

I know, but that “new group” is likely to tell them “f~~~ you”.

You can only be insulted when you care enough to be insulted.
It’s a kiddie film. It always was a kiddie film. It was inspired by the kiddie-friendly serials of the 1930s and 40s. The SFX may have partially hid that fact, but it should be obvious when Lucas freely admitted it.
As a series of kiddie film, the franchise is going to change as kiddies change. Complaining about that is little more than complaining that you’re not the kiddie anymore.
When we become adults, we leave childish things behind and rightfully so. Leave Star Wars to the children and those who are still mentally children.

They broke rule three.
Broke rule three to the tune of over four hundred million dollars earned in one week.
Jackson insulted Tolkien fans and earned billions.
CBS is currently insulting Star Trek fans with a new series which has done well enough to earn a second season.
Can you point to any other fans who shouldn’t be insulted? I’d like to make some money.

Any other group that was insulted they would be upset as well.
It’s a kiddie film.
What do you consider an “adult film”? Not a porno, but a film made for adults. Because we clearly have to very different views on what a “film for kids” is.
Broke rule three to the tune of over four hundred million dollars earned in one week.
They need $800 million to break even.

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Trilogies are masterpieces of cinema. Most Tolkien fans loved what Peter Jackson did with those stories. Sure some changes were made. But the changes added to the story, help tie the story narrative together, and kept the story from dragging.
There is even a lot of Tolkien fans that supported the make of the Lord of the Rings films at the end of the credits of each of those three films. It is a long list of Tolkien fans.

Of course they gave it a second season, they would never live it down if they canned the series and The Orville got a second season on Fox.
By the way, I have not been watching that new Star Trek series. I have been enjoying the Orville which is sort of like a cross between Star Trek the Original Series and The Next Generation, with some parodying mixed. It is a pretty good series.

I’m a long time Tolkien fan I hated what Peter Jackson did to the Hobbit. That was insulting to Tolkien’s work. The Lord of The Rings Trilogy left out the most important part at the end when the Hobbits come home and the Shire is a police state. PJ should have worked that in, there was plenty of screen time to do so.
His ending of LotR was indeed too short.
And while LotR was better than anything fans could have dared hope for (even with silliness – skateboarding Legolas etc) his Hobbit was an atrocity. Difficult to think of a single redeeming scene. Maybe a few moments in the first movie, such as the Dwarves singing, but otherwise just terrible.
