    Who is the third Man?

    Lawrence Kasdan.

    Go to this link: http://moedred.livejournal.com/2009/03/04/

Scroll down to ‘RAIDERS” — TAPE TWO.

G is Lucas, S is Spielberg, and L is Kasdan. The three are spit-balling ideas about how the search for the Ark should play out. The concept of Marion having a clue is agreed upon, although it’s a map rather than an amulet at this point. The question then becomes why Indy and Marion know each other. That leads to:

G — We have to get them cemented into a very strong relationship. A bond.

L — I like it if they already had a relationship at one point. Because then you don’t have to build it.

G — I was thinking that this old guy could have been his mentor. He could have known this little girl when she was just a kid. Had an affair with her when she was eleven.

    L — And he was forty-two.

    G — He hasn’t seen her in twelve years. Now she’s twenty-two. It’s a real strange relationship.

S — She had better be older than twenty-two.

G — He’s thirty-five, and he knew her ten years ago when he was twenty-five and she was only twelve.

G — It would be amusing to make her slightly young at the time.

S — And promiscuous. She came onto him.

G — Fifteen is right on the edge. I know it’s an outrageous idea, but it is interesting. Once she’s sixteen or seventeen it’s not interesting anymore. But if she was fifteen and he was twenty-five and they actually had an affair the last time they met. And she was madly in love with him and he…

We often talk here about how popular culture is little more than s~~~. We post “Kill you TV” and about how bad Hollywood is. Then a new Star Wars, Star Trek, or some other cult film or show comes out and people start bleating about how it’s been ruined or how they have to mourn their childhood without the slightest bit of self awareness.

New flash: Star Wars was s~~~ when you fell in love with it as a kid. You didn’t realize that because you were a kid and you don’t realize it now because your nostalgia googles are firmly in place.

Star Wars was s~~~ when you fell in love with it as a kid.

Forty years later, the original Star Wars trilogy is fun to watch. It is one of the few film trilogies that attracts even new viewers today.

The prequel trilogy even has its own charm.

The Force Awakens could stand on its own feet. What sold The Force Awakens was the wonderful chemistry Finn and Poe had during the beginning of the film. This set the tone for the film and allow the film to play out in a good way.

The music by John Williams is timeless.

There several Star Wars books, comics, and video games that actually have some of the best sci-fi plots ever made.

To start with is the Heir To the Empire trilogy which was one of the best star wars and sci-fi novels out there. The novel showed what a tactical genius leading what was left of the Imperial Navy could do. The novel introduced a number of characters. The Solo twins, Thrawn (the genius mentioned above), and Mara Jade (a action girl done right).

Then, there is Knights of the Old Republic One. A very good, well plotted out sci-fi game. This game likely has a plot twist that was better delivered than Vader revealing who he was to Luke at the end of The Empire Strikes Back.

For comics. The original Tales of the Jedi comic series. From the beginning to the Sith War, to Redemption. A very solid plotline that took years to make. Exar Kun was an interesting character. But, the most well done character was Nomi Sunrider, whom was a widower and a mother a young daughter whose character progression was solid storytelling.

So calling Star Wars ‘s~~~’ is uncalled for.

I believe that those whom controlled the making of The Last Jedi are trolling the Star Wars fanbase with the film. The thing is they do not know how to properly troll. Sure, turning Luke into a broken man harmed the childhood memories of millions of people. But, if they had turned Luke into a broken man whom was a full blown lunatic with a laugh to match, that would have scarred the psyches of tens of millions of people whom watched the movie.

A laugh like this from Mark Hamill (actor whom plays Luke and voices the Joker) in a proper setting could shatter a person’s sanity:

Calling it s~~~ is entirely accurate.

Get back to us in a couple of decades. By then you may have even changed your belief that Jackson’s Hobbit is a “masterpiece”.

‘S~~~’ is not a financially successful franchise that is over forty years old, enjoyed by most people in all its formats, from the movies, tv series, animations, music, comics, books, games, etc.

I do not know what your problem is with Star Wars, but calling it ‘s~~~’ is an insult to the literally BILLIONS of people whom enjoy Star Wars.
