I did a little research on this by googling ‘CDC divorce’ It looks like these stats are coming from different survey over different years. The first section is from 2015. The other’s look like they are from a 22 page report over 2006- 2010. The details around the stats are very important as far as I can tell, and are likely inaccurately displayed or don’t mean what you would think the mean.

In other words, entertaining yes, but I wouldn’t go out and start spouting these stats as solid facts without looking into it further.

These numbers only confirm my own observations. I’ve long suspected the true divorce numbers were closer to 90% as that’s the figure my own circle of friends and acquaintances reflect. It’s not exactly empirical, but through direct observation we can often see through the lies our “official sources” tell us. This survey is indeed very telling. Now, count up the number of married adults in your life experience, then look at the number that are divorced. Does 93% seem realistic to you? It does to me, and it makes a hell of a lot more sense than the 50% number we’ve been fed since the 1960’s. Yeah, that’s life in the 21st century.

I am a bit apprehensive.

After some time they come out and say the statistic is false and these people will accept any numbers that fit their agenda. Don’t listen to them.

Lets see how to get only 6.6% of marriage survive 10 years.

In the same data it also state the marriage rate is 6.8 per 1000 and divorce rate is 3.4 per 1000.

So it seems 50% marriage will last.

From other site, it stats that 40% of marriage is remarriage. So the rate for divorce + remarriage is 6.12 while the marriage rate is 6.8. That means first time marriage that end in failure can go up to 90%.

However it should be less then 90% because we are not accounting for people who married for more then one time get divorce again. If we use the statistic of 40% of divorce are from remarriage and should not be counted again, first time marriage failure maybe as low as 70%.

So it is at minimum 70% and maximum 90%. Given that some people have surviving second marriages, or dies before getting second / third divorce, the numbers move closer to 90%. Maybe 80% ?

That is the statistic for the general population. Not likely 93% but not lower then 70%.

However a lot of us swear that the marriage failure is at least 90%. How it came to being?
For whites, the remarriage rate is 60% so the minimum failure rate rise to 80%. So it is likely 90% of brothers that marry are divorce at least once.

So yeah 90% of first time marriage failure does not seem too far fetch. And the non white brothers first marriage failure rate does not fall too far behind.
So we know the 50% marriage failure rate is a lie, they just need to hide the remarriage statistic.

The 50 percent figure is falsified by the number of 2nd and 3rd marriages.

And your figure falls into my picture of real life observations.

I sometimes asked “shamers” if they can name one happy marriage in their circle of friends and both hands have 10 fingers…

And most of them counted to 7, 8 or 9 of 10 friends that are not happy in a marriage. You sometimes saw them count silently with their fingers and come up with only one and one “maybe” that were intact.
