The radiator fan stopped turning on & off due to that sensor on the PCM being fried. So I bypassed it & wired into the relay switch and installed a $12.99 toggle switch inside the Jeep. Now if the running temp hits 210 degrees, I turn on the fan for a few minutes.

I did the same to an old Car I had. Toggle Switch on the Dashboard beats “smart” sensor any day of the week.

I’d rather have my Car look like the C~~~pit of a fighter plane, if it gave me greater control and reliability.

All of the Digital Tech, is too unreliable and too much of a pain in the ass to replace. I think the Auto industry did it just to make a killing selling after market replacement parts. All of these Sensors get made for a couple bucks in China. Then they sell to us in AutoZone for a couple hundred bucks. A few months later its failed again. F~~~ THAT S~~~!!!

Stop buying crap from AutoZone! Get NAPA instead, and the higher tier NAPA stuff, there is a difference! And don’t get your vehicles serviced at franchise shops like Goodyear, they all have been using parts from discount auto parts stores/sources!

Negative on “High Mileage” oils Ghostrider! “High Mileage” oils have solvents in them that soften seals in an effort to stop oil leaks. The problem is the seals become soft to the point of total failure. It’s better to use the oil that got you to the high mileage in the first place and keep topping it off. That way you are replenishing the oil additives.

Also, if you use a higher weight of oil then the engine is designed to use your oil filter could bypass in colder weather causing unfiltered oil to circulate in your engine.

Button push boot closer- This has to be the most absurd feature of all. It isn’t a 100 ton bunker door that needs a damn button.

Agreed! While there are many situations where you need help opening the boot/trunk, once you have placed your items into the trunk … closing it should not be an issue…. unless you are in the middle of a localized Zombie Apocalypse or such.

Some of you here sound like grumpy old men. I love technology and especially don’t mind having it in vehicles. I drive a manual, but ideally would like a car with a dual-clutch transmission someday. My car also has keyless entry, a push-to-start engine button, partially digital dashboard, Bluetooth and a bunch of other things. Nothing wrong with enjoying advances in technology.

But hey, if you would rather have a set of wooden branches on stone wheels and run around like the Flintstones, by all means. But let the rest of us enjoy our hi-tech toys. 🙂

I remember when I could turn the headlights off and leave the running light on to allow oncoming traffic pass with ease on darken narrow streets, now I would have to put it in park and kill the ignition along with everything else to turn off the headlights and allow narrow passes without blinding the oncoming driver!

Thanks, but NO THANKS! More control means better driving by better drivers!
