I think the number one problem with this whole discussion is to make people understand and ACCEPT the complexity, size and gravity of what is happening.

Initiating a serious discussion about the predicament we see is truly a “hard sell”, and I see how even smart and verbal people that normally love a debate shy away from these topics.
There is no denial things are going bad, we know the elephant in the room, we see how grim the future looks. Still, discussing this in public is taboo. It does not matter if you use strict scientific data and plenty of disclaimers. Here in Sweden, you will lose your job. Literally. And managing to getting fired is otherwise no small feat in socialist Sweden!

In a way, society and the public is as supersticious and near sighted as in the 16:th century.

If a society values are individual freedom then this will result in economical freedom creating both unstable jobs and sexual freedom: marriage is hurted by both, perhaps even more by the former. And freedom of movement, even immigration, are a tenet of modern capitalism.

Ironically, the only thing that could successfully mix the old values of freedom with the survival of British traditions would be…racism, extensively and officially enforced by the state. Certain values reserved just only to people of a certain race.
But this cannot work in actual society, because racism is verboten since the thing of nazis failed…

Im glad you have responded. I agree with some of what you have said I have always believed that the only way to reverse the damage done to Britain and Europe more widely would be to prepose as you say ‘racist policy’ at a governmental level. I think people often conflate as I believe you are doing race with culture. Im no racist if a black person or an asian or anybody else wishes to live in Britain and work hard in Britain thats fine with me so long as they assimilate and do not attempt to culturally dilute this nation.

I haven’t confused feminism with leftism because I am not talking about the past im talking about now. Only the political left in Britain champions feminism, nobody on the right pushes feminism.

Lastly I find it laughable that that you think British culture favoured immigration. Ask the average Brit if they have ever favoured immigration, you will get a wake up call. Quite disturbing that you point the finger of blame for immigration to Britain. Your country is the problem it allows anybody to cross the med and land in Italy gaining the right to stay in europe. Maybe some of you have read any of the books of William Gibson? If not, I highly recommend that you put your dystopian glasses on, and descend into the rainy, dark, multicultural (or mono cultural) world of numb consumerism, VR, drugs and loneliness that he describes.
Many of his predictions of the future world turned out to be eeringly correct, even if they were done 30 years ago.

Again, the general public in his books are mentally incabable of rising from their (mainly) self inflicted apathy, and the few enlightened are fighting an uphill battle.

It is many years since I read the books, and they might be more left leaning than I recall, but that is not very relevant. (There for sure are some bad to the bone corporations in the stories.) What stayed in my memory after reading the books was the gloom, the ever present technology and surveillance, and the lack of warmth and compassion between people.

You’re right, it’s a very large and difficult topic to even express. I’m positive I’ll make many errors in the process. I hope that this can be a reasonable and rational discussion that helps me both articulate it and for others to see a vision. There’s really much more to go.

Separately, I worked for a Swedish company for many years, working for long stretches in both southern Sweden (used to stay in Copenhagen and take the Oresund bridge – sorry, no umlat on my keyboard) and in the outskirts of Stockholm. I’m withholding town names at this point for doxxing reasons, but I’m sure you know to where I’m referring. That was between 2007 and 2013. I enjoy the Nordic countries quite a bit and really, really hate to see what’s happening in Sweden today. The extreme collectivism may be its undoing…

I have an old economics textbook from the 70s that defines money as “whatever the government says it is.” Yes, this is part of the problem. Markets should choose money. Again, we’re starting to see real threats to the banks today. This is a positive improvement and offers some hope…

Feminism won’t occur without leftism. They are related. Without the cultural drive toward leftism (let’s call it collectivism to encompass socialism, fascism, and communism…) the notion of feminism would largely be limited to women’s rights. That’s a far cry from today’s post-modernist feminism.

The economic system and political system are not necessarily coupled. Let’s take, for example, referring to ‘capitalism’ as a political system. It’s not. Capitalism is an economic system where private ownership of assets allows for accumulation of capital that can be reinvested. The fundamental political system here is essentially private ownership of assets. Collectivist ideologies all, in some form or fashion, are based on public (ie, govt) ownership of assets – except fascism – where assets are owned privately by favored companies that are under the control of govt entities. In all cases, collectivism only works by force – no sane person would participate willingly and be exposed to abuse and theft at the hands of the state (govt). Just try “opting out” of communism or fascism – you can’t. Communism destroyed the code of ethics under the USSR for 70 years. They’re only piecing their world back together today. What a nightmare – yet the SJWs of the world idealize this. It’s insanity.

Note that the US, nor any country, is entirely capitalist or supports private ownership. Private ownership is the way of men that forge their lives by work and will. Collectivism is the way of the matriarchal nanny state.

What keeps families and communities together is either force of govt (which is unsustainable and will collapse at some point – that’s where we are) or a common set of ethical standards such that people self-police their behavior. The latter is sustainable and has been the norm for millennia. The former is subjugation and slavery.

I’m interested in returning Western Civilization, not saving the bulls~~~ we live under now. Does that help clarify my comment for you? I’m not saying the s~~~ we live under now is the end goal…

The playing field is probably more level now than it ever has been. That’s why, IMO, if there’s ever going to be a time, this is it. The social, political, economic, and technical environments are, I believe, the best they may ever be. We are at the brink, but we’re not over the ledge.
