Being a science fiction buff as many of you are, I would like to see this movie. However I struggle with two facts about its making.
First, as a piece of fictional art for entertainment and secondly, an overwhelming sign of political and social reality. Will I allow myself the luxury of being entertained by this movie or will I watch it and hate myself afterwards for watching something
that has content which I’m so against, . . ie: feminasation doctrine in art form.I decided, “f~~~ it ” . . . I’m not watching it because of simple principle, that the movie is about female empowerment targeting
the young and impressionable and giving feminists & feminised c~~~s an uplifting story to feel good about. This brings me to the last point in my reply to the post here.
While I do not give a flying f~~~ about the pros and cons of the movie and do not care to dissect it into tiny bits and discuss
its content to death, I see that the subject of this movie is driving a wedge among our members. Is this what we want ?
Is this so important that almost half of the posts are turning so contentious, that some are hinting that those that they do not agree with may be of female gender or not intelligent ?Gentleman, come to your f~~~ing senses. Do not cause a split among yourselves over an obvious female orientated movie. It is as simple as that. I do not advocate that you do not watch it, but do not cause rifts over a f~~~ing movie.
Yes, its as simple as that
If my memory serves me correctly, you joined MGTOW for more or less the same reasons. Female/feminist damage done to your lives. Finally, the voice of reason. You’re right.
Thank you.

Cheers to that.
You know what’s interesting? Both the original and prequel trilogies had female pilots and African Americans other than Lando and Mace Windu in the background. It’s subtle… BUT this f~~~ing movie has it so much in your f~~~ing face that it’s annoying, like I almost wanted to shout at the screen “yes we get it there’s women in the empire now, f~~~.’ That was my one gripe with force awakens
femis moaning again and as one comment says
“They should concentrate about what happened in Germany on new year because that is a real problem for women” which is immigrants raping women with impunity so surely the feminists would be all over that? Nah more important matters of a film character not being in a board game
liberals belong in the nuthouse
sorry posted on here but I messed up the linking so it seems to have wiped the post so will repeat it
the feminists are moaning about a board game when as the comments in that article say about women not mentioning what is going on in Germany with immigrants raping locals
liberals are bonkers
Check page 8 of this thread. I went into detail on this very subject. Basically, by that point Kylo was severely injured and his concentration in the force was all but shot.
I missed that part. Yes, this way it is more believable. However I still think Ray shouldn’t had stolen the saber from Kylo’s grip, considering she has discovered the existence of the force only some days before. Ok, Luke did the same in Wampa’s lair but I was time later he had discovered the force and there wasn’t a force-using enemy
Would you want a stranger you just met to hold your hand, as you are running for your life? The answer is, no. That is not feminist. That is common sense.
Actually, the answer is yes for me: if my shelter is going to explode and I’m unaware of it, I would be grateful if a stranger grabs my hand to get me out of there before its too late. Maybe later I could wonder how awkward/gay it was but first I would thank my savior, I don’t think I would bitch about it.
This was already covered, page 8 and 9 of this thread. The only three victories Rey had in that movie was she beat up some thugs that attacked her. She flew through a ruined star destroyer she knew a lot about. And she beat Kylo after Chewy and Finn first worked Kylo over.
I accept her ability with the staff and I agree with your though. I can’t accept her piloting skills because if she traded junk just for a bowl of water and freeze-dried food how could she afford piloting lessons (I know, it’s a nerd question but I can’t help myself)? The force is not an excuse: Anakin flown the Nubian fighter for a very short period and he was shoot down, actually he was just playing/pushing random buttons and he was very lucky. Even if we’re talking about spaceships and mystical powers he was more believable than a girl that successfully flies a big and crappy starship she had never flown before inside the wreck of a Star Destroyer. I could have accepted her innate talent simply by having Han teaching her a little about how to fly the Falcon. In real world if someone can fly a Cessna it doesn’t mean he can do aerobatics with a cargo plane.
About Kylo defeat, it makes sense. Personally, as I wrote in a previous comment, I would have preferred that the chasm opened during the fight, separating Ray and Kylo, with Ray clearly in trouble. What bothers me is the disingenuousness of the creators. Abrams and his cronies went into the film with an agenda when they could have achieved something worthwhile if they hadn’t. They created an unoriginal action film character and nothing more.
The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave. What bothers me is the disingenuousness of the creators. Abrams and his cronies went into the film with an agenda when they could have achieved something worthwhile if they hadn’t. They created an unoriginal action film character and nothing more.
Sci-fi is a male preserve…..S~~~ty ass rom-coms are female preserves.
AA Abrahms was given the brief to destroy male-preserves. He’s ruined Star Trek and Star Wars…. why doesn’t he just come round to every man’s house and castrate us with an ice-cream scoop…….
Burn Hollywood burn.
Dez82, I want you to know, while we do not fully agree. I have found your reply to me to be both polite and to the point. I love replies like yours. You comments are a good example of how to reply to a fan debate.

That is a good point. Rey is picking up the force way faster than she should. But, there are some fan theory explain this. And I agree with them. The fact Rey picks up the force so fast is a big clue as to whom Rey really is.
Also, I am glad you see my point with Kylo during that battle.

Now, that I think about it. That is a more of a matter of personal preference. I believe we can see both views on this subject. And we might just have to agree to disagree on this.

Well, to be far. While a weak excuse, Rey was showing flying a speeder at the beginning of the film. So, she has some piloting experience.
The force is not an excuse: Anakin flown the Nubian fighter for a very short period and he was shoot down, actually he was just playing/pushing random buttons and he was very lucky.
I consider that to be one of the weakest scenes in all of Star Wars.
Even if we’re talking about spaceships and mystical powers he was more believable than a girl that successfully flies a big and crappy starship she had never flown before inside the wreck of a Star Destroyer.
One point on that. It was shown she made a living scavenging from that very destroyed Star Destroyer. She likely knows every inch of those hull of a ship. So, in this case, Rey knew where she was going.
I could have accepted her innate talent simply by having Han teaching her a little about how to fly the Falcon. In real world if someone can fly a Cessna it doesn’t mean he can do aerobatics with a cargo plane.
I will give you that one the aerobatics in the Falcon was pushing it.
But, her fixing the Falcon on the fly. She made a living scavenging electronics. Knowing how to fix such issues is not out of the realm of her scavenging abilities.
About Kylo defeat, it makes sense. Personally, as I wrote in a previous comment, I would have preferred that the chasm opened during the fight, separating Ray and Kylo, with Ray clearly in trouble.
I can see your point of view. I can seen the pros and cons of that and the point where they were split up.
It is interesting that the planet split them at the moment Rey was about to kill Kylo in anger, thus sparing Kylo’s life, and and sparing Rey from taking her first steps to the darkside of the force. And that was clearly intentional by the writers.
There is foreshadowing in this movie. Not just this scene, and it is incredible.
On a side note, I never thought I was ever going to see a Star Wars film taking inspiration from Star Trek, especially, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. But, this one did it, in the form of the Starkiller planet falling apart and the search for Luke. And the Force Awakens did this well.
Dez82, I get the sense you are on the fence when it comes to Rey. And you would probably be okay with Rey as a character, depending on how Episodes Eight and Nine go to explain Rey’s abilities.
I avoided reading as much as i could about this movie so i could go in with an open mind and maybe enjoy some aspects of it. Sadly, it was absolute s~~~. Even putting what’s been said about the female lead aside – which i agree with, the rest of the film was absolute bollocks also.
This film has been overhyped more so than Episode 1, once the hype dies down i think a lot of people will re-evaluate their opinions of it and realise that it’s just a great big steaming turd.
I thought JJ would correct the problems with Episodes 1-3 by throwing out the over use of CGI and s~~~ty acting, but the script just wasn’t up to it.
Just awful from start to finish, then the ending was completely unsatisfying and completely glossed over the death of Han Solo. Every character in this movie was off kilter. Nothing jelled together and it p~~~ed me off because the trailer looked great and promised so much more than what was delivered. I rank this movie as being almost as bad as The Fantastic Four.
And what the f~~~ was up with Han Solo and Chewie’s gun? They’ve known each other for decades and this was the first time he’s ever fired Chewies gun?

Thank you Faust, I like a good discussion, we have different opinions but it doesn’t mean it has to become rude.

Yes it was a forced scene. The fact he was on autopilot gives it a little of credibility though.
One point on that. It was shown she made a living scavenging from that very destroyed Star Destroyer. She likely knows every inch of those hull of a ship. So, in this case, Rey knew where she was going.
I agree, she knew that. My point is that the Falcon is a freighter ship, with the c~~~pit on starboard side: too heavy and difficult to handle in such conditions at a first try, she has to know the exact dimension of the hull and to be always aware that the pilot position is not aligned with the longitudinal axis of the ship in order to fly inside the wreck without crashing. That’s why I think if Han teached her a little first, I wouldn’t had problem with Rey flying it.
But, her fixing the Falcon on the fly. She made a living scavenging electronics. Knowing how to fix such issues is not out of the realm of her scavenging abilities.
Mmh.. I’m not so convinced. Yeah she knows electronics equipments but knowing how they interacts in a complex system like a starship is different. However, given the fact she states she’s a pilot she could know also how such equipments work.
I can see your point of view. I can seen the pros and cons of that and the point where they were split up.

I’m not a big fan of Star Trek, however I enjoyed ST – Enterprise series.
I watched the first Abram’s reboot but I didn’t like it, instead I really liked Into the darkness. That’s why I expected a better Star Wars from him.
You’re right, I’m okay with Rey as character. My issue with her is that she’s too unbalanced, instantly good at everything. That brings us to the point of the whole topic: until further clarification from Abrams in next episodes, she seems just a “fan service” for female audience and white knights.Just saw that movie, it was bad. It should be called: Star Wars: Awaken Me When It’s finished. Ford, needs to retire from acting, Leia looks like she’s getting ready for the deathbed, kylo ren is a pussy. And of course, the little teenage girl, who’s skywalker, lightsaber battle champion, pilot, and han solo, all into one. She didn’t know she had the force, which is why it’s called a force awakens. Feminists c~~~s need to stop invading hollywood, they can’t make a movie, if it was the last dildo on earth.
Best part of the movie: the trailer to Zootopia, that looks pretty funny.
Shit Tested, Cunt Approved.

I am glad we can fully agree on have a pleasant conversation.

Either way, that scene made me groan. Ironically, that lightsaber battle weaved between that space battle was really good.

Well, I figures Rey likely flew her speeder a few times through that hull, out of boredom. That is just a logical guess, due to her likely doing so out of her youth and boredom.
Mmh.. I’m not so convinced. Yeah she knows electronics equipments but knowing how they interacts in a complex system like a starship is different. However, given the fact she states she’s a pilot she could know also how such equipments work.
I think this is a bit of her scavanaging skills, piloting skills, and innate natural abilities with electronics.
I’m not a big fan of Star Trek, however I enjoyed ST – Enterprise series.
I watched the first Abram’s reboot but I didn’t like it, instead I really liked Into the darkness. That’s why I expected a better Star Wars from him.I won’t sugar coat this. I found the first half out of the Star Trek reboot movie to suck. But, once they made it to Starfleet Academy, the rest of the movie rocked. They got the casting for the main characters right. The music was good. And the main plot was interesting.
You’re right, I’m okay with Rey as character. My issue with her is that she’s too unbalanced, instantly good at everything. That brings us to the point of the whole topic: until further clarification from Abrams in next episodes, she seems just a “fan service” for female audience and white knights.
While, I can see the argument could be made. Though, while Rey looks nice. She is not presented in clothing, nor mannerism in personality, that would be considered “fanservice”. Nothing she wore could be considered sexy. Functional, but not sexy.
And when is comes to Rey’s personality. While she is rough around the edges and tries to be nice, she has a LOT of anger in her. This was shown at the end with her fight against Kylo Ren. But, now that I think about it, through the movie she has show she is holding back a lot of anger. Though, anger she is not taking out on someone, else she thinks they deserve.
Also, Rey is willing to admit when she is wrong, something that the feminists and SJW would have for a woman to do.
As I have said, SW Episode 7 has a lot of sharp writing. And so many hidden easter eggs, injokes, and nuggets of information hidden in the movie, that one could make a drinking game out of it. When is comes to Rey, this entire movie is a set up, to lay the foundation for movies eight and nine. Though, in ways a lot of viewers are missing.
Also, Rey is willing to admit when she is wrong, something that the feminists and SJW would have for a woman to do.
I meant to say:
“Also, Rey is willing to admit when she is wrong, something that the feminists and SJW would NOT WANT a woman to do.”
I feel bad for white men in Star Wars now. It seems like with the exception of Luke Skywalker (who was in the last thirty seconds in the film and may die later on in this trilogy), the white men either die or are antagonists.

That is not exactly true. Though, none of the NEW main heroes in this film were white males, I found Greg Grunberg performance as one of the resistance pilots, Temmin “Snap” Wexley, to be okay. As a side character, he had a few lines, and his character even survived the final battle.
Besides, let’s not forget, the two new main heroes of the film, Rey and Finn, are not saints.
While he did run and eventually defect, Finn was a Stormtrooper and he was put on a death squad. He just didn’t pull the trigger.
Rey is nice on the surface, but she has a lot of rage inside of her.
I found Star Wars Episode Seven is all about “identities”. Finn finding his place outside being a stormtrooper. Rey finding her place outside of being a scavenger on desert planet of Jakku. Kylo Ren finding his place between the darkness and the light. The movie is all about “identities”.
Will take some time to reread new posts in this thread daaamn… it was a long time ago when I posted here. I even forgot I did.
PS. After Lucas started to re-edit original movies, made bad cgi prequels and destroyed all the magic of the force by introducing bacteria… I haven’t re watched star wars for years now.Avoided the new movie as a plague aswell, it seems it got even worse, Death Star again, same s~~~ and feminism. And no believable character properties or development to care, from what I’v read so far.
I much prefer J.J’s flawed Star Trek movies, as they introduced me to watch the cheesy old original series for the first time. I did skip all the star trek growing up, so it was great to “rediscover” that sci-fi universe.-----------
FullMetalExo, we covered the comments you made, and your are quoting. Though, have you seen The Force Awakens movie?
If you want to complain about the movie, I am more than happy to debate with you on the subject. But, please at least go see the movie, first.
Who know. You might enjoy the movie.
Well i went to see the movie, it was what i feared.. femedisny wrecked it completely…
the review in short: In carry’s the name, but NOT the legacy.Ok I was curious to see if guys were still complaining about this movie being too feminized. This is where MGTOW lost me and really didn’t want to be a part of it anymore. I mean you judge a character like Rey being the lead while in the prequels Anakin was the lead, in the original trilogy Luke was and now Rey is. I don’t have a problem with this and I enjoyed the movie. After all, guys one thing MGTOW talks about is how things aren’t equal and count the movies 2 male leads and one female. I don’t know what else to tell you.Guys seriously I think you have to stop nit picking at every little aspect of life and then relating to fiction. Science Fiction to that matter. The last thing I want to say is you guys have let thing effect you in your real life that now you’ve let it get in way of something that is fun. I still believe in the MGTOW philosophy but when I saw what was being said about Star Wars I decided this wasn’t for me. I’m IGMOW. I’ve gone my own way with no connection to any group. I even took my YouTube channel down because I don’t agree with any of this Star Wars negativity and even my blog. So guys just remember those who were negative about the new film. That’s when you lost me and others. If this was about TV or a movie which does reflect reality I would be with you. The fact is Star Wars is a science fiction trilogy which I’m sorry the last time I checked I wasn’t able to jump into hyperspace on my mark. Anyways, I know this message won’t change anything because a lot of you guys are set in your ways the thing is so am I and I won’t change or support something where I don’t agree in. Just saying.
