    Portugal legalized all drugs.

Portugal is as blue pill as they come. There is nothing to aspire about modern day Portugal. They are ranked 45th in the world in terms of nominal GDP – nothing to write home about. The top 5 (share of total global GDP) are as follows:

    1) United States of America – 25%
    2) China – 15%
    3) Japan – 6%
    4) Germany – 4%
    5) United Kingdom – 3%
    .
    ..
    45) Portugal – 0.3%

    Portugal is a f~~~ing joke.

India was number one not too long ago. It was during the reign of the last great Mughal Emperor, before the British took over from a bunch of cuck emperors and handed the country to a bunch of Gandhi worshipping, pussy begging, f~~~~~s.

I agree. All drugs should be legalized and taxed. It would certainly solve our tax issue. We’d also save billions on drug enforcement. Just because something is legal, doesn’t mean people will use it. Look at alcohol and cigs. A few do the later, but the majority of Americans do not. They know it is bad for them and will eventually kill you. This is not the 1800’s. We can make up our own minds. I know I do not need Daddy government to protect me from me.

    I have logic for that.

YOU don’t but the majority do. When the masses start doing drugs and then vote for stupid people, we end up in the situation we are in.

I would like for us to return to the 1700s in a lot of ways actually.

I don’t smoke weed, but it should be legalized. Any excuses to keep it illegal are bulls~~~ propaganda to keep up the drug war and illegal drug trade money flowing.

Sadly, we already have this in many metropolitan areas. Might as well see what happens with everything “legal” and taxed. At least we’ll solve the tax problem (prob. not)

Portugal legalized all drugs. The world didn’t come to an end.

The Netherlands was actually the most liberal of the European countries. They’ve had to backtrack. The liberal dream went sour.

In Britain, the police have effectively been told not to enforce the law. I see drug dealers outside primary and secondary schools. Are those 5-16 year olds making informed choices?

I don’t want to control others and I don’t want others controlling me.

Junkies already do. The vast sums of public money spent on their housing and medical care deprives others of theirs.

Like the big corporations pay all the taxes that they should now? Of course not. This would be no different.

We’d also save billions on drug enforcement.

Hordes of smackheads won’t push up the cost of law enforcement? Drugs aren’t free – so where are these non-workers going to find the money?

Where I live, we are practically under siege by junkies looking to steal to fund their habit.

Malaysia doesn’t have a severe drug problem, even though they are just across the water from some of the major producing areas.

    They string them up.

I’m a damned sight safer in Kuala Lumpur than I am in South London.

So are you against weed bro.

You could actually give it all away. The whole lot.

It would be messy for a while. But once the looting and shooting was over, I fancy that much of the problem would have been solved.

What anybody puts into his/her body is that individuals choice. If it cures them, great. If it kills them, who cares – at least the laws of Darwin would be at work. I don’t use drugs or smoke, but I’ll never deprive those who do. It’s the basis of free will.

And how to castrate the drug-cartels? Legalize it, make it cheap and affordable. That’s why you never see these drug-cartels trying to get it legalized.

Call it a “pay-it-forward” move on, let freedom ring!

Freedom’s not free, it’s a claim, one that’s only legitimate if you’re willing to defend that claim!

I’m surprised it’s not already legalized honestly. Legalizing it would drive the price down enough to make it less desirable for growth because there would be more supply. The gov’t would put “production standards” where they could then fine you if you don’t meet these criteria while creating marketable goods (think pot-OSHA), AND they could tax the product to all hell and back. Sufficiently causing headache for independent growers would put production in the hands of major corporations and pharma’s, and we’d be back at corporation-owned healthcare with another taxable substance that people will slave away at their jobs for.

It could be better than tobacco, from a financial standpoint.

All drugs should be legal. ALL OF THEM.

    Why are drugs ilegal?

I always thought the government should not just legalize, but supply drugs to whoever wants them, as long as they sign a waiver that they will no longer be eligible for any welfare programs, ever. It would be cheaper for the tax payer to let some idiot overdose than to send him to rehab 3 times while in and out of rehab he sponges welfare programs, somehow gets tax payer funded healthcare, breaks other laws, and possibly hurts people along the way, and eventually overdoses anyhow. I speak from firsthand experience…I have family members and old friends from when I was younger doing exactly this with their lives who have done it all so far but the last step, although some have come close.

If someone can hold a job down and function and just likes a little buzz on occasion…I don’t see where its my place to tell them no…but likewise when people develop substance abuse problems…I also don’t see why its my job to provide for them.

It’s legal to grow small amounts for yourself in my state. I pay no taxes and it costs nearly nothing to grow. And I can grow enough that I never have to buy any no matter how much of it I use.

meh. Of all the popular drugs, weed is, IMO, the least dangerous. You smoke too much, you pass out. Alcohol is legal and that s~~~ can kill you.

Learn from the past, Control the present, and you will know the Future.
