For the first time since I was a kid, I’m actually looking forward to Christmas this year. Why? because I’m going to let it completely pass me by without lifting a finger.

I’m not religious in anyway, and really dislike the conspicuous consumption, forced caring and pure waste that goes along with this outdated holiday.

I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but was always roped into it by women and children.

    F~~~ Christmas.

I still spend the holidays with family. Small contingent.

But the commercial side of the holidays, is a real con job. Gets everyone spending.

Great for kids. Complete money dump for adults.

F~~~, and if you happen to have a lady in the picture around this time. Then it’s straight to the cleaners.

Funny that tower posted the grinch and I was considering posting scrooge.

Is that nothing more than social programming to shame men who do not partipate?

Come to think of it, why are the grinch and scrooge both male? Who is the female example of someone who hates Christmas?

    Don't care

I’ll probably end up having a drink/food with friends or family, but I refuse to buy any gifts or cards this year.

I know it’s great for kids, but mine are spoiled enough on their birthdays.

Bingo! I’ve been shamed into it for years. I see absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to participate. Sure, Christmas has it’s good points, but the bad far outweighs it imo.

Only two men and 3 billion women are on the opposing side!

    Sound about right?

I didn’t get the airsoft gun I wanted when I was a kid and so now I eschew Christmas with all it’s pomp and majesty.

I stay home in my warren and narry a Christmas show makes it’s way onto my TV screen.

Who am I kidding? I’ll be having Christmas at my sisters house which is good because she lives less than 5 miles from me so I can walk there and have some drinks.

Drinking is important to me to survive relatives at the holidays.

One of the hundreds of Santa Drinking images I found.

Hi fellas, this is my first post.

Why is Scrooge/ Grinch male? It’s pretty bloody obvious. The male who doesn’t throw his resources away is shamed for not being abundent. This ascept of festivals is thousands of years old, at Stonehenge there is evidence of just how enormous the feasting was at certain times of year.

If you don’t throw your hard earned money away in order to prove your prosperity, you’re a loser.

I’m a single dad, but this year I’m not buying bulls~~~ throwaway presents. My kid still has stuff which she hasn’t opened or played with since last Xmas. This year I’m buying for her, and only her. Satellite relatives’ spawn who don’t even know who I am can get lost, I spent £60 sending money to my sisters grandkids last year, not this year!

I’m a single dad and my son is grown at age 20. I have always spoiled him so as to make up for him growing up in a single parent household. He was really raised with both of us, 50/50 physical custody.

I spoil him because he is my only son and what is money for if not to spoil your child?

What you end up with is a house full of toys the kid never played with and a spoiled child.

Luckily the spoiled part got better when I cut him off from physical rewards to minimal “things” and more about family relationships.

Best move I ever made. It was hard and took a few years but a spoiled child is a difficult person.

Same here. I keep the spending to a bare minimum. Grown ups can kindly go to their nearest ATM. As for the kids, well, I’ve got a soft spot for them. But within reason.

Drinking is important to me to survive relatives at the holidays.

Surviving the holidays. Using any chemicals we can. From booze, to a bit of herb. Whatever gets the job done, is fair play

Don’t bother, he’s Santablade, he’ll use the back door, a window, or climb down the chimney in his asbestos Santablade suit! So don’t bother lighting a fire to keep him out! I already tried, it didn’t work!

Tough day for me. This, barring a miracle, will be the 6th Christmas I have not seen my daughters. The two word text messages “Merry Christmas” are worse than the silence.

I’ll probably go to church – early before it becomes a social event. Then probably spend the day with friends, maybe my brother, eat and drink to near coma, and put another chalk mark on my life.

I haven’t purchased a Christmas present in years. And finally got to the point just last month where I was able to throw out the tree.

    Thank you c~~~.
