Tonight I ran to the market. As I exit my car, I walk down the parking lot aisle and across it are two cars with their hoods up. The mid forties woman and the twenty something both turn and the older one says “can you help us put the jumper cables on?”

I knew it was coming.

“No. I am good, thanks”

And I walked away.

Felt f~~~ing great.

It isn’t worth it, no way am I getting nailed for helping, damaging the car, being called a rapist, anything…

I walked on, happy to have had my red pill reminder for the day.

I would have helped but not directly. I would have told them how to do it and let them attach the cables. Positive to positive, negative to negative. Having a 28 year old daughter, who I love dearly and who loves me, would impel me to give instructions but not involve myself in the actual application. That way, if something goes wrong, they are accountable and not me.

My 18 year old daughter knows how to do it and can look it up on google… And every auto manual tells you how.

It’s fairly obvious for any fan of Spy novels or movies; you connect one end of the cables to the battery and the other end to the nipples.

You leave them connected until they start to divulge state secrets. Scheese, anyone knows that…. it’s not like you are mansplaining how to bake a cake or something.

my daughters can. I taught them how a car works, and they have changed tires, changed air filters, spark plugs, oil, replace light bulbs, check and add fluids and replace wiper blades. one daughter was 14, and the other was 11. I showed them what to do, and they did it themselves. the 11 yo looked so cute, standing on a step stool and sitting on the fender gapping plugs lol
