I’ve seen it happen on other forums sites. Big grandiose exits with long winded explanations…….Who gives a s~~~ why? I’ve left a few forums sites before and I do it the same way I leave a party. I walk away quickly and quietly because I just wanna’ get the f~~~ outta’ there.

Maybe these “voices” are part of the trolling scheme?
Make us kick out an offender and show us “how much we f~~~ up” by sending us another blow with “I cancel because of YOU!!!”
Woman strategy.

And then the c~~~ gets the neighbor to tell you: “Yes, because YOU did XYZ, we are going xz on you!!!”
I see the same pattern here:
– We have a record low troll count.
– And we torture our minds with solving the last 0.01 percent of the problem.
– The site is free, unless you want special features
– We get good credits from members whose life we saved
– KM is a pioneer in his field and does most of it for his ideals
All of that is “NOT GOOD ENOUGH” and it’s all our fault… And that’s why (s)he is leaving…

Anonymous31st: Reduce thread starting rights for newcomers to a maximum of 2 to 4 per day. I never started 1 per day and I would be fine with such a limitation.
Because trolls can be hired and stay dormant until they all wake up on one day and spam the entire board with s~~~. S~~~ to make us look bad in the public eye.
Good idea, but it may be more optimal to reduce thread starting rights for ones either newcomers or below a given number of stars (as Gargamel says, due to dormant trolls) to 2 threads per 24 hours. Once I arrived I only posted introduction thread, and that was enough. Probably also reduce the posting rights to some moderate number. Normal guys won’t mind, but trolls won’t like.
And the delayed mirror for unregistered lurkers is also a good solution.

We don’t want to loose good members. 100% of the time, when a new member has written in and asks “when can I post? I want to make an intro”…. we make him a participant and send him a nice and friendly welcome message. Just not in the last 3-4 weeks (as much), because we’re FLOODED and backed up.
Should we “pause” new member registration in the mean time?
Should we explain to them too many want to join at once?I don’t see a reason for that. Better to join and poke around for a while. Members who log in also see the very latest posts. The forums are more “live” for them….while visitors wait anywhere from 1-60 minutes for the cache to clear automatically.
The idea that this is a “pay to post” site is simply wrong. It’s FREE to participate and always will be. You just have to WAIT. If they don’t want to wait, that’s cool! we built in a mechanism to allow them to approve themselves immediately.
Seriously….think about it. What the f~~~ is $5 or even $10? Isn’t 3 minutes of your time every day worth more than 17 cents? It’s really nothing. Do you have any idea what it costs to run this place? We even took Google ads off the site (until further notice) to give members what they want.
You and your friend don’t have to “pay to post” here.
He can just write to us and WAIT.—
What we have NOT done – and probably should do – is a one-time “make me a participant” entry for $5 (or $10) and no more monthly after that. They can just make themselves a participant, and that’s that. They won’t get extra privs, but at least they have 100% control over joining the party themselves.
I know you ALL understand why we can’t just automatically make everyone a participant.
But more importantly, the man hours in the forums takes away from production elsewhere. This isn’t our “job” yet. Every minute I spend here, I am NOT working, producing or doing something else. We can’t let the site production be taken over by forums drama. THat’s the worst part about the “trolls”. They take away from production.
Take “Balaam” for example. I ignored that stupid f~~~ and don’t even CARE about him/her. He didn’t get a moment of my attention. Not one second. Because I refuse to allow then to suck my time away. They don’t matter. They HAVE no value. They ADD no value. They just suck it away.
Don’t let the trolls suck your time and attention.
In any case……
We’re gonna fix this s~~~ because I hate to loose good members. But I can’t throw myself down on my knees to beg them to stay. All we can do is make the place available for the. Whether they come or go isn’t up to us at all. We don’t even advertise elsewhere to generate joins. It’s just not that kind of site or community.

Happened to me. I just did not know you had to wait. As soon as my email was noticed I was granted entry with a very polite Welcome. Been here every day since!

Happened to me. I just did not know you had to wait. As soon as my email was noticed I was granted entry with a very polite Welcome. Been here every day since!
Every day……same here. I may have to ask to be locked out so I can’t even enter. I can’t stay away and sometimes sit here for hours reading and posting.

And they do this by making us change things around and putting up walls… They damage us because we run wild because of them.
It’s like poison: You don’t die from the poison but from the illnesses it causes.
Keep running the place like you used to run it. After all that’s what brought you success.
A handful of trolls among 30 k members with posting rights… That is a 0.01 percent problem.
And we can fix that too.
Their trolling strategy is to chase us into the light like a fly getting burnt on the light bulb.
I think that we are now exposed to professional psychologically trained trolls that require a hoard of junkyard dogs to get rid of.

The waiting phase filters out the emotional posters that want “instant payback” for what they have just read and it filters people with the “instant gratification” reflex…

KM, you already do a great job here.
If you knew what I have been up to, you would understand. Damn I wish I could be here more lately…. but if I do that, nothing else will get done. And there is great reason for it.
Funny thing is…. MGTOW don’t need “moderators”. AT ALL. The place functions GREAT with just you guys. When it’s MGTOW/Men only, we don’t need to play referee. None of the genuine MGTOW here are attention-seeking parasites. It’s the “trolls” that need “moderation”. Think about that.
