Apologies for being a broken record.
    The Scouts have an infrastructure.

Methinks getting help in whatever you come up with will be easier if you drop the word Scouts.

    Again, I am biased so……

IMO a youth Firefighter club also seems like a good path considering your background.

Science, axes, good dudes, screams success.
Firefighters have gear and uniforms that must be cared for. Also, there are grooming standards.
Financial stuff can be slipped into the cracks.

Oh i’m not dismissing your idea. We’re all just throwing around ideas to see what’s possible.

Those kids didn’t even know some of those jobs existed.

how about a pamphlet with all those career paths …
    outline the start and goal.
resources available to help like tuition assistance and grants in those particular fields.
i wish someone handed that to me in high school.
    we had almost no clue..
    .
    salary of local law enforcement,
fire fighters and emergency medical techs.
    nurse and various medical fields..
..just a start for the list..
    truck drivers
    sanitation workers etc…

Yes thats perfect. That would be in line with the financial stuff as well. It would be great to show them what is available, and that a better way forward is sometimes easier than they may think.

Hermit life is a good career path. I’m with Mgtower.

    I am biased

Guess that makes three of us.

    I don't need a legacy.. I don't need a monument.

Hermit life is a good career path.

tell that to a teenager and you have a FAIL.
i want to see SUCCESSFUL men rising up.
    not a generation of recluses.
Hermit is NOT a good career path.
it is a choice for those who can afford to choose it.
the kids need something besides JAIL and living as a hermit.
    .
to fail the young is to invite misery in to their lives.
    f~~~ that.

I like your idea. I think boys should have some motivation to achieve something positive. You could offer a raffle drawing for some kids with good grades. You may be able to get businesses to donate prizes too.

For example: kids could enter a drawing for some video games or gift certificates for shoe stores if they make A’s and B’s on their report cards.

Ultimately, they will learn that they can convert those good grades into college grants and job opportunities (later on in life), and make money to buy the stuff they want. Warn them not to spend it all on their girlfriends, though. Ha ha!

I would encourage these boys to learn from the same textbooks that the wealthiest kids in the USA are reading. Why would a rich person spend $10,000 a year to send his/her kid to a private school? There must be something about these schools that’s worth their tuition. I encourage you to find out about their curricula, and steal their knowledge!

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

    f~~~ that.

Yea they need to that somebody is in their corner. The world will beat them up, chew them up and spit them out. The world and liberals especially are counting on the fact that these young men don’t have any strong male influences in their lives. That will eventually render men helpless if we don’t turn it around. You never know, one of these guys may end up becoming the cops, and lawyers and doctors we need to right the ship. We ask for better chances in the courtroom, the judge just might end up being a young man that you mentored.

beer and drugs is NOT how you get successful young men to achieve.
a CLEAR written plan of choices IS.
    .
when you say f~~~ the world,
don’t forget you are in it.
    f~~~ yourself if you choose,
PLEASE don’t wish that on the next generation of men.
    .
    ROCK ON VENOM…!!!
    forget the negative bulls~~~.

outline what professions make up society.
    politicians
    law enforcement
    teaching
    medical
    civil service
    trades
and give a plan and financial outcome.
    make it easy to understand.
give these kids a MAP for their future.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t keep it out of jail if jail is the path it’s
destined for. Your hero complex is productive and all, but I am of the sort that gives respect to those who have it for themselves. “I swear by my life and my love for it that I will never live for the sake of another man…” You can figure out the rest. Clearly you could think less of what I say.

    I don't need a legacy.. I don't need a monument.

I get what your saying. Everybody cannot be saved. But we still can do some good for the ones who CAN be saved.

if we don’t turn it around.

To that I will suggest as nerd tunneler suggested during a discussion on cryptocurrencies the other day: do what Germany is doing.

    I don't need a legacy.. I don't need a monument.

It’s not the curricula. It’s the student body.

Public schools have to take everyone in their district area, regardless for how ineducable or how large a detriment and distraction they are to the other students. Private schools do not. Private schools can tell the thugs, criminals, and retards: “No, your business is not welcome here.”
