I guess I have to post to see how many stars I have. I have been a ghost member on here for over two years and other than being able to see people on here use foul language I haven’t seen any benefits from being a ghost member.

KM was on zoom last night. We made a couple suggestions and asked for some obviously bulls~~~ accounts to be removed… spammers, advertising, really offensive names, women, etc.

Now, if there is a troll romping through the forum, go to the member page and hit the report button. If enough “good” members report the troll, the troll is ejected.

Oh, okay. So this new function is coming from the zoom meeting last night. I don’t do zoom, so I was just guessing as to the details.

Anyway, it’s KeyMaster’s web-site, at the end of the day, to do with as he so desires.

Well, since the idea came out of a Zoom Chat session, I’ll leave it for the participants of the Zoom session to explain why they decided to do it this way rather than another way.

Speaking for myself, I don’t think it’s a big deal one way or the other. Once it’s determined that a given poster is a troll, it becomes pretty obvious to everyone: The thread usually blows up to 10 pages really quickly. So as long as there are a few long-time members around to report it, it doesn’t really matter to me if I personally have the ability to report it or not. As long as someone’s around to deal with it.

But that’s just me.

Yes, the tunas and trolls of the past were most likely between 0 and 300 stars. And some rare breeds of tuna make it into the 1000 star region.

The bat-phone “alert” used to and still does “alert” admins to that given “thread” now by clicking on the alleged douchbag’s profile, the “alert” bat-phone goes straight to that particular member for better scrutiny, instead of having to read the entire thread/threads for the admins to see whats going on. Using star count is a good compromise.

If there isn’t some sort of boundary then the trolls and tuna will blow-up KM phone.

Without a boundary of some sort it would be like if KM and his helpers published their phone number(s) on the main page.

As I view it, the manner in which this feature has been implemented is saying that some MGTOW Forums members (i.e. those with a 2000+ star-rating) are being permitted more privileges (i.e. the ability to report other members) than others. I cannot see how it can be viewed otherwise. The star-rating value of a MGTOW Forums member is being viewed as an indicator of their credibility, since it is apparently viewed that a MGTOW Forums member with a certain number of stars (or more) is somehow a more responsible member than another with a lower number of stars. I fail to see how such a view cannot be seen as discriminatory, flawed, and will not cause members to become stratified.

Why not? Is the web-site developer not able/willing to make changes to the source code? Not even if KeyMaster gets complaint from members? Some of you guys are blowing this waaaay out of proportion. When this idea was originally proposed by Keymaster, it was proposed as being a limited group of people. This concept was HIS idea. I understand where some folks are coming from, but in the grand scheme of things, the complaints are a non issue. The reality is, now the situations will be dealt with, and dealt with in a timely manner. That’s what should matter. Fact is, the website doesn’t really need 20,000 users being able to mash the button on a guy. A handful is plenty to ensure that Keymaster is alerted to the issue.
