Yes, I have had ALL of the internal tests: colonoscopy, Endoscopy into the stomach, and even taken the “camera pill” (after a cleansing, I swallowed a HUGE “pill” and the doctor put a special electric belt on me. As the camera passes through me it takes hundreds of photos. The belt picks up the images and then the Doctor can look at my complete intestional system.
I have had a dozen or more stool samples sent to the lab.
    Blood tests, galore.
I’ve stopped drinking ANY diet sodas.
Ruled out: parasites, polyops, cancer, Bad bacteria.
Things which make the diarrhea much, much, worse:
Cole slaw, green salads, New England Clam chowder, chip dip, minestrone soup, fresh fruits. If I eat KFC cole slaw, within 2 hours I am looking at the cole slaw AGAIN in the toilet. Hell it has not even changed color, still bright green.
Things which help and sometimes even cause a solid normal B.M. :
2 bananas eaten at the same time, homemade apple sauce, dried coconut, and strangely beef/bean/cheese burritos.

Meds I take: Brilinta(blood thinner) but that is new. I had the diarrhea LONG before I started Brilinta.
    Loperamide (anti-diarrhea)
    Cholestyramine (anti-diarrhea)
Zoloft anti-depressant (but I’m weaning off of that because it may very well be one of the problems causing diarrhea).

This Thursday I will see the 3rd new G.I.doctor

I forgot to ask a very important question and a key to understanding.

Do you consume alcohol? If so, try abolishing that from your chemical medicine chest. That goes for anyone!

I never consume ANY alcohol. None. Ever.

I don’t know how bad a anti depression medicine crash is, cause if it’s something like a heroin addict goes threw, you’ll be curled up in a ball and won’t wanna go do anything.

The withdrawal symptoms from Zoloft are not like a withdrawal from opioids. There is no shaking , sweating or severe pain. It is hard to describe. Like a brain fog but with a very weird feeling like mini electric shocks to the brain. VERY WEIRD FEELING. And, of course, a loss of interest in doing anything except sleeping.

    Hello Carnage,
I just looked up mesalazine on google. One of the side effects is diarrhea. Thanks for the advice but I’ll pass on that. Diarrhea is what I’m trying to cure.

Listen bro, if you’re depressed you absolutely HAVE TO get a neurological scan done. There are different KINDS of depression. Depression has been proven to actually DESTROY brain tissue, and if you take the wrong antidepressant it can actually damage your brain even more. Watch the following video to learn more:

I’ll talk to my PCP about it. The final decision, however is up to my health insurance company.

Yes, these are called brain zaps, very common when withdrawing from antidepressants. I personally take Zoloft, and i know several people who take it, and no issues like you’re having with the GI.

I’m not a doctor, but i don’t think it’s Zoloft causing your problem, as Zoloft has the LEAST amount of side effects of any anti-depressant. However you can taper down until you’re off of it to find out. But if you find out it’s not the cause of the GI issues, you may want to go back on it …

Yes, that is my plan. I’ll tough it out for 6 months and if the diarrhea has not gone away then I will assume the cause is something else.
P.S. feeling emotional better today after a 12 hour sleep.

Try going on an all Banana diet. That’s like 30+ bananas a day. I did that for a few months. The ripeness of the Bananas are important. I like them well ripened (when they start to get spotty).

I also smoke Marijuana for my stomach and depression problems. Everybody is different you got to find what works for you. My Health Issues were the cause of my depression. Getting healthier makes me feel more positive.

What are the bananas supposed to do for the gut ?

I remember my xs struggles with depression and diareia.

Her diareia was caused mostly by anxiety.

They could find no Medical cause.

If Meds help, why not take them.

    Just my 2 cents.

Its easy to digest. Eating the same food everyday helps because your body gets used to it. There is enough nutrients in the bananas to keep you going. It worked for me, for about 3 months. I might end up doing it again.

Right now, I’m down to just one meal a day. I’m losing a bit of weight, but no more bleeding and the pain is going down some. You have to do whatever works for you. It’s hard, but hang in there man. I was about ready to shoot myself last year. It can get better.

7 weeks isn’t nearly long enough to adjust to not having an AD in your system. I’ve been off and on various AD meds over the last 10 years, and transitions can be especially rough. I’d sometimes temporarily use weed to cope with withdrawal.

Man, getting off that damn Zoloft is a real bitch. Brain is just not feeling right. And I get the “electric zaps”.
I am now down to 25mg/day. I read somewhere that after the last dose, it takes 3-4 weeks to get completely out of the body system. In the meantime I am quite depressed but I MUST know if the Zoloft is the cause of the running s~~~s.
Just trying to tough it out.

I had some “seat-belt squirts” (attach a seat-belt to the toilet to keep you from rocketing off from the power squirts thrust) a few years back. Oral antibiotic had annihilated most of the flora in my gut. Doctor had me on some “flora pills” to reseed my gut with the proper bacteria. Worked after a month.
Oh, while you are still having the “seat-belt squirts” make sure you hydrate properly. Your large intestine is where a lot of water takeup occurs. If the water is shooting out of you at 80mph it is not having a chance to be absorbed.

Flora Pills ? Is that the same thing as probiotics ? I tried using probiotics and a ton of other stuff. Nothing works.
I hate living like this. I mean, seriously what the f~~~ is the point of continuing to merely surviving ?

Should consult your doctor about it. Probiotics are just combinations of bacteria found in the gut. What I had was a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT). I had a C. difficile infection. To fix it they annihilated all bacteria in my gut. Once done they re-seeded me with a flora pill treatment. In short they reseeded my gut with bacteria from a healthy persons gut. The good bacteria then proceeded to set up camp in my gut and at the bad bacteria. The pill has no taste, (thank sweet baby jesus) and won’t open until it is in your small intestine. So in short, they reseeded my gut with a s~~~ pill from a person with a healthy gut. They call it a flora pill because s~~~ pill is sooo much worse.

Well, I’ll be damned. That is amazing. Did you have to take many of those pills ?
I had C. Diff (or was it H. Pylori, I can’t remember which) about 10 years ago. They gave me some anti-biotic to kill it. But no-one ever told me that I might need to have the gut re-seeded.
