Listening to it it doesn’t sound like an AR 15; I think the cycle is too slow. My guess would be AK/SKS, or .30. Those are also much easier to convert to fully auto than an AR 15 and its ilk

It may surprised you, but many pro-gun people support militarization of the local police.
Outside of the large cities, many local police officers are more in line with the people they serve. The feds are going to have these weapons either way. But, it is a toss up if the s~~~ hits the fan, the local police may use such weapons against the government in aid of the local population.
This is why the Obama administration worked to take such weapons from the local police.

I am somewhat doubtful of the numbers, particularly the injured. It sounds more like estimates, although 58 isn’t an estimate. But on the injuries, I would bet the majority of them are not from bullets, but from trampling in the mass of crowds trying to find safety.

Lots of people are butthurt about the 2016 election. The media is stoking up fear and legitimizing the use of pre-emptive violence against conservatives. The event was a country music festival. The shooter thinks he’s a revolutionary and acted alone to kill as many racist white asshole fascists as he could.
