I’m not sure why this is bad news for women. Isn’t this what feminists wanted? Sure, there may be some models that have less of a market then they used to in appealing to men, but has that hasn’t been a big part of their focus for a long time. The market for models has been women for the longest time. They market women’s clothes, jewelry, makeup and I’ve even furniture these days. Do you think a guy really cares if their couch is part of the Cindy Crawford line? Hell no, but a woman does. She’ll pay extra for that.

Sex and violence may not sell, but image appeals to women more then ever.

Aside: This conversation reminds me of a comedy about advertising called ‘Crazy People’. It had fake ad slogans like “BMW, for men who like hand jobs from beautiful women” and “Metamucil, it helps you go to the toilet. If you don’t use it, you get cancer and die”
