Check your mail. Attached are two snapshots confirming your cancellation + 4 months returned …. and that your email / card has been permanently deleted at the processor.

Since you claim to not have received notice, I’ll check in the morning to make sure every refund automatically sends an email from the processor too. It SHOULD do that… but in any case, a confirmation has just been mailed to you too.

Nobody who entered a correct password had a problem. It was those who may have logged in UN-successfully who probably hit a “temporary block” (which can happen). So they tried to reset it… even some who were temp-blocked.

I know what they were speaking about, now.

• Bad login typing in password wrong…..
• Maybe another bad login….
• Member thinks “Maybe I should reset”
• Click the reset link in the email…
• BAM!!! “You need to select a secure password”….
• Member thinks “OK fine”.
• New strong password doesn’t stick.
• Try again and go into an infinite loop.

This happened to me at least 50 times during testing. P~~~ed me off too. And WHY? Because there was a “force strong password” in TWO places – cancelling each other out.

What a pain in the ass.

I’m pretty sure I typed the correct password, but s~~~ happens sometimes. I couldn’t log in. Couldn’t reset my password. Then this morning, with much skepticism at first, I was very pleased to see my old password allowed me to finally log in. Sounds like it was a real bitch to find and fix the problem. Thanks for getting it working again for us.

Thank you for all your messages (everyone). This is tremendous. Also was keeping a third eye out for Market~~~cher…. because I was going to reset his password manually and send it over, but I didn’t want to do it without his knowledge. And here he is … so things are looking up!

You can imagine how it’s a VERY bad idea to be re-generating new password for a member – with intent to help them — while they may be trying to do it themselves.

Private messages are intact but last week’s update caused a Jquery conflict which won’t open the dialogue window. Conversley, the popup “broadcast messages” wouldn’t close. I know exactly how to fix (we already have on the development version).. it requires a precarious push of a few things and I need to be present for that. We also need to announce when we’re doing it.

This morning I am playing relative to some family visitors from Germany before they fly off tonight. So I’ll be back in a few hours. Planning on getting the new account/settings page and private messaging back today/tonight

Me too. Looking at the number of people locked out, that’s a lot of errantly entered passwords. I’m certain I put in the correct one, then I got the screen that it wasn’t secure enough, then I did the reset and then I got caught in the loop.

It turns out …. we’re not the only website that experienced this all of a sudden – and in recent weeks. Another post on an unrelated tech forum said they had the same “strong password” anomaly. They were FREAKING OUT.

We created some test accounts and various levels to try and duplicate the “infinite loop” and then it became apparent (as explained above). Their suggested solution actually helped us in finding the conflict.

Members started to assume they were being locked out ON PURPOSE – which is something we would simply never do. For any reason. There is just no motive for that.. and nobody benefits from that kind of a stunt.

It was a freak anomaly as a result of “force strong passwords” being set in multiple places and one was persistently overriding the other. Then the “reset” password wasn’t sticking.
