I received a letter from the state saying “hey you were paying $xx.xx but now we are going to take $xx.xx”
There should be a number or address there on the letter. If you haven’t already, contact them to find out where this is coming from. The State can’t just tell you that you have to pay more. There has to be a legal document with a judges signature on it. I would think it would also require your signature, but that could vary state to state.
Do you have your wages garnished to pay for child support? Were you told to provide this letter to your employer?
I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but these are definitely the kind of questions you should be asking. If the increase in CS is not legit, then don’t pay it. Be absolutely sure that letter came from the state. If it didn’t, then it’s fraud. Fraud plus breaking the divorce decree is going to severely damage her case when you bring this back.
Again, lawyers are great, but they are not magical. You can do a lot of this work yourself.
Oh it’s legit and yes my wages are being garnished.

Unbelievable. What the hell is wrong with our court system? /sigh/
That said. Threads like this make me proud to be a member here. If someone ever says MGTOW is a hate group I will point them to this topic. If this is not compassion I do not know what is. Very conscientious of you Keymaster. This resort is definitely 5 star!
Not to be a total downer here, but if you get a letter from the state saying you have to pay double, and then you STILL have the resources to buy a property, she’s going to think she isn’t getting enough from you!
For the record, you aren’t really asking IF you should buy, but HOW. If I were you I’d take a step back and ask yourself IF again. Just my two cents. Mortgages aren’t my thing, so I can’t really help you there.
Good luck brother.

Thanks for that man but buying my condo is probably the best option I have with what I have to work with.
It’s not like some palatial estate with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms… It’s about a 650 ft² loft condo

I would love to hear how a woman breaks her divorce decree and gets her child support payments increased without your consent or even a changed in your salary. But it sounds like you’re focused on the other issue for now.
Ok. Then do it.
I am trying to find a lender in your area Joe. Nothing yet. Help me out and go to hud.gov and check out fha.com. The next issue that just occurred to me is that you might be below the lending limit for many institutions. Most do not go lower than 50k.

I have no clue … I thought with her going out of state it would trigger something. But no the system is there to ruin men or at the very least beat them down enough until they submit
Not sure what state you’re in, but I’m guessing Georgia since you mentioned Atlanta earlier.
Below is the link to doc your ex needed to fill out in order to get modification to the court order child support payments.
First off, this looks like utter s~~~, and I am very glad I don’t live in Georgia. It looks like a custodial parent can request modification based on her financial system alone, for something as simple as buying a home with a higher mortgage payment. I really hope this isn’t your state. Then again, it looks like you can also get your payments reduced for similar reasons.
That said, if it is your state, then a document like this should exist and should be able to obtain it. That will give you the reason. As well, the document does require that it be signed and notarized. If she lied on the document, then she is committing perjury (says so right on the doc). It also requires entry of her address. Therefore, if this is your state, she either perjures herself, or you have documented proof that she broke the divorce decree by moving the kids. Even this isn’t your state, there is likely a similar document that you should be able to access.
These are all things a lawyer will help you with, but you can do research on your own.

I live in Illinois. She took my son out of state to Atlanta. We were married and divorced in Illinois.

Yea, I saw the PM. I’m looking at Illinois site right now.
It’s not as helpful as one would hope. Still, I would call the number and/or go to the local regional office if possible to get more information. I would really want to get a copy of the documents she submit requesting the modification.
On a side note, how freaking sad is it that Illinois has a mobile app just to make taking money from men easier?

Brother you don’t need to tell me
Your financial situation seems dire now but will pass. You will get used to your new future and you’ll make your child support payments.
I would look into having them lowered except not through an attorney.
There are two important things. You’re health. So, don’t let the stress of this get you down, depressed or addicted.
The other is your son. I have a son and was in the same situation. I hadn’t seen my son in two years and he was poisoned against me. His mother withdrew her love unless he rejected me. He eventually gave in to his mother. Understandable.
But that poisoning is real and the more you try to be in your child’s life the more she will demonize you.
Don’t move to her town. Do consider leaving the US. It’s a s~~~ hole for men. You have a chance of a normal life in most other countries. Everyone says that Ameriskanks are the worst.
Don’t chase your son. If he loves you he will come to you when he is ready. Around 18, seek you out and then you can have a normal loving relationship. For your son’s sake don’t make her damage him to get to you.
She will choose to damage him.
Don’t under any circumstances hire an attorney. Fight for your child support yourself. Learn to do it. I know a mensa guy who wipped the floors as his own attorney. Family court is not like criminal court. It is meant to be navigated by non-lawers.
You can’t afford to throw away your money on some blood sucker that can do nothing for you that you can’t do on your own.
Go your own way. The debt is a constant reminder that you need to stay away from females. Go your own way or suffer depression and possible suicide. We see it all the time in the press.
#icethemout; Remember Thomas Ball. He died for your children.

Anonymous12He did help… he told “joe” that the kid will hate him.
That is one important piece of truth. But for later.
I am asking myself…
if he is so tight for cash, how will he buy the place AND keep paying the mother?
She will think he has hit the jackpot, and will demand even more.
Stash away everything, play the poor man, pretend to have nothing, and make sure the court (and the kunt) knows.
one can not reach into the pockets of a naked man.About my son hated me … not a chance, he knows the deal. I’m not worried about that at all
Narwhal is spot on. You need to find the documentation on the increase. By law you HAVE to be notified.
I did some looking for you and to my surprise I found a Georgia lawyer commenting on something close to what you are experiencing.
Quote:
“When an order for child support (in your case the divorce decree incorporating the separation agreement between your ex-wife and yourself) is entered, the state in which the order is entered retains continuing exclusive jurisdiction over the order. Meaning, only that state may enforce the order or modify the order.Since YOU did not move out of the state where the order was entered, YOUR state has jurisdiction.
Then again. Laws are changed to f~~~ men.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
Gentlemens do not do the right thing.
Do not be honorable.
Do not be a good person.
Be smart, do your thing, don’t f~~~ up people, but don’t help them either.
Keep yourself to yourself.
Nature gave everyone (mostly) the skills and weapons needed to survive, if it didn’t YOU AINT SUPOSSED TO SURVIVE.
If something has chances to kill you, it is ok to avoid it or get rid of it.
No guilt, no shame in trying to survive and live like a human been.
This.
Sorry, but if “child support payments doubled because reasons” and you can’t survive then you run away.
There’s no such thing as renting a bedroom.
You run away.Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras.
Pick one.Good luck.
Just my 2 cents.
SUPREME LEADER KIM JONG-UN'S FASHION STYLIST - if you want a new look or if you're a very beautiful trans you can call me, phone number +85079255312 / mobile 01921421211. The worth of a man isn't the usefulness that women get from him. Avoiding living with a woman, a man isn't rejecting a lot of sex: he's rejecting sexual starvation. MGTOW IS TACKLING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN COMPLIANCE WITH CONVENTION OF ISTANBUL: http://www.coe.int/en/web/conventions/full-list/-/conventions/rms/090000168008482e --- Article 4, Section 4 "Special measures that are necessary to prevent and protect women from gender-based violence shall not be considered discrimination under the terms of this Convention". WHAT I LEARNT FROM A GENDER STUDIES CLASS IN LUND, SWEDEN: every time feminists accuses men of doing something, odds are likely either them or persons associated with them are doing the exact same thing but a lot worse. WHO I'M RIGHT NOW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1okpAj7Fhw Basically my former life have been a conflict between this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz_RQVkvke4 and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFIMeyTK-sU That's, more or less, all about me.
He should request a few days off and go to court to appeal the increase in child support. He should bring copies of his bills to show his financial hardship.
If I were him, I’d be in full survival mode. I’d try to live with relatives or rent a room in a house until I could get my financial situation settled. Personally, I did this for several years before I rented an apartment.
Let this be a lesson to single men: DO NOT IMPREGNATE THESE WOMEN! Especially if you live in a nation that panders to their rights more than yours.
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
So I’ve decided to not keep the place and move.
But I would like some advice on the Atlanta thing.
Can a Petition the court to get my son back because she violated the terms of the divorce and visitation
Forget about the kid, he is gonna hate you Anyway.
Forget about the c~~~, take your passport and leave the country.
RUNNNNN
you owe nothing to anyone.
Desapear.
At this point she has already mind-f***ed the kid so why spend 100K on lawyer/legal fees just to get the right to see kid 1/2 the time and have ZERO influence on his/her life??
As far as the Condo goes; NO ONE in finance is going to tell you to go DEEPER into debt when already in debt. This is a sure ticket to the poorhouse.
Many “RICH” ppl double down by going deeeeep into debt have friends with deep pockets to(and always do) bail them out.

I’m not a lawyer, but this is what happened in my case. The “home” state DCW sends the check to your Ex’s current state of residence. Just more red-tape. I think you are being taken advantage of due to your financial condition. Seek an attorney.
