A study of 200,000 online daters looked at the desirability of male and female users determined that men’s sexual desirability peaks at 50 while women’s peaks at 18.

“The age gradient for women definitely surprised us – both in terms of the fact that it steadily declined from the time women were 18 to the time they were 65, and also how steep it was.” The study echoed data from an OkCupid study in 2010 which showed men ages 22-30 focus almost entirely on women who are younger than them.

Now, of course this turns out to be men’s fault, but who didn’t see that one coming. Just proving one more time that The Wall is real. It just may be closer than she thinks.

The SMV (sexual market value) chart below caused me to fall back in my chair when I first saw it. When I was 18, I was virtually invisible women … right up until about 26. But options really opened up around 36 and generally stayed that way. Oddly, as I got older, women were the same age.

Regardless of how it applies to each individual, its important ALL men notice the “convergence point” – around 28-32. This is the period of time where women silently begin to realize they will soon be supplanted by a new generation of hotties and their SMV is on the decline….. but it’s also the point where a man has not yet realized his potential. He has no idea that things are just STARTING for him.

The “convergence point” is where her SMV will begin a precipitous drop – where his is likely going to ascend. It’s also the point where women start using VERY desperate & slippery methods to lock you down BEFORE you realize this yourself. Too many men fall into this trap thinking they are 29 and “she is the best I’m ever gonna do”.

I met a very smart 29 year old guy last weekend. He’s exactly at this point.

Interesting that chart placed a man’s peak smv at 36, followed by a decline, vs. an incline to 50 in the article. I suppose there is rationale for both perspectives. I’m 36 now, and wonder how I’ll compare to my 50 y/o self.

A normal guy I worked with who was approaching fifty kept getting the other staff women’s attention. His reply was, “Where were all these women ten or fifteen years ago?”

When my female peers at 25 were at their physical and mental peak and were unavailable to me because I was married, I learned to live without them. Now, at 36 and divorce-raped, I basically have my pick but am uninterested.
