I’ve never had the experience of working with women that did not come with the experience of picking up some slack created by a woman not doing her share of the work. But I never, ever got a proportionate increase in my salary for it. The ultimate result was that I did some work, and the money for it went home in a woman’s pocket. Several years ago, I quite working for salary and started working as an independent contractor. I now LOVE working in places populated by women, because I charge and am paid on a unit basis. The more work and the more overtime that is created for me by women who don’t do their share of the work, the more money I make.
Does that mean that the company is paying women for work that they are not doing? Yes. But it also means that I am no longer doing work for which I am not being paid.
Does that mean that the company is being ripped off by these women? Yes. But it also means that those women are now ripping off the company for that money, instead of ripping off me for it.
I feel zero guilt. The company can change their hiring practices anytime it chooses…
Look, it's not my fault that tornado dropped a house on your sister. Now get back on your broom and get your ass out of here... and take your monkeys with you
