The MGTOW label denotes more than just single; it can range from a pump and dump guy to a monk, the common characteristic is no marriage, no kids. The aspect of self interest is understood by women, but only in the instance of women’s self interest to themselves, mens’ self interest to themselves which denies resources flowing to women is abhorrent.

I don’t know if it will ever be socially acceptable to be MGTOW. But I’m not trying to be socially acceptable. I’m tying to avoid getting financially ass raped in divorce court. But on a more philosophical note: if you are a mgtow, and you are so concerned about being socially acceptable that you will base high stakes decisions on it, then it seems to me you are not going ‘your own way’, you are going the way that has been dictated to you as the ‘socially acceptable’ way. If that’s the case, then you are not ‘going’ anywhere. And very soon, you will not have anything else that is your own, either.

You will instead do the socially acceptable thing: you will marry and father children. And once you have done so, you will not have kids (she will). You will not have property (though she may let you live in a house – her house – that you purchased for a while before evicting you from it). You will not have the Constitutional right to be presumed innocent (unless she permits it and until she cancels it with the 911 call), or the Constitutional right to bear arms (because the 911 call = DV charge and gun confiscation). You will not have children (they are hers, but you might be able to visit them occasionally if you pay enough).

Concern for social acceptability = no property, no rights, no children, and not going anywhere.

Very interesting question! There’s a certain connotation of certainty in your question that MGTOW will remain a minority! Of course if we remain a minority it goes without saying, but.. what if they can’t shut us up! and we keep growing? just like at first nonsmokers had a hard times being respected in public places. I believe it’s a matter of how many / what percentage of the men population declare themselves MGTOW.
