I know that there are women at the grandmaster level who can beat me (they don’t compare to male grandmasters) but so far haven’t found a woman that can beat me at chess.

I think I may have annoyed the gf a little by beating her in 5 moves recently. In fairness, I was quite good in my 20’s and then I pretty much stopped for 2 decades and now I’m at it again playing computers.

I noticed she had a tendency to mirror my moves, so I set her up for a fast checkmate.

If she starts studying common opening moves, then I will simply do something uncommon like the Grob opening. I am starting to play intuitively again, which makes me more dangerous in unconventional openings.

They teach bell curves at school. Why are these different bell curves for male and female ability that we have all known about for so long not taught?

What is true for chess is also true for shooting. Trigger weights are not all that heavy -even my hunting rifle is only 1.7lbs, match rifles are a fraction of that. Shooting (that bastion of the patriarchy) was actually very progressive indeed and from 1972 till 1992 in some cases they put men and women in the same Olympic events -after all you only have to pull a trigger. The women actually did manage to win 2 medals out of all the events for all that time but to women, of course, this was not fair and so after some whining they were allowed to return to their winning ways in their own separate event (so much for progressive equality).

To be fair to women, you have to give them special treatment. Makes sense (in female logic).

A woman is like fire -fun to play with, can warm you through and cook your food, needs constant feeding, can burn you and consume all you own

Actually I’m unemotional about it and I like to learn, even if I lose.

Once, I set it to Grandmaster-skill-level to where it is probably playing at about 2300 ELO-level, and managed to get checkmated in 21 moves. I don’t take losing personally, although I consider it progress when I start winning more and can move to the next difficulty level.

I think now that I would consistently beat my younger self at chess (when I was able to beat a master Ranked player) but younger self would have a few inspired games where myself now could simply not win.

I’m not very good, but I really love playing chess. I wish I had learned when I was younger, but then no one around here to play with and I don’t like playing computers. I like to play with real people on a real board. It’s a great game.

In all fairness, they do quite well at rigging the game. Or having others make excuses for why so few women are in the FIDE 100. Right now the best female player is from China. I think she ranks 56 in the world right now. Hey, not bad! Credit where credit is due.

On the FIDE 100, There seems to be a strange absence of some nations and ethnicities and religions. In fact, if you really look into this, there seems to be some kind of correlation between the Life Quality Index (LQI) and Chess Grand Masters.

In fact the Number 2 FIDE ranked player in the world happens to be from the USA and of course.. Italian! (Caruana, Fabiano)

Now if someone could please explain how the F~~~ you can go to jail for playing CHESS? Crazy.

Currently standing the best woman player in the world ranked by FIDE is Hou Yifan, a Chinese Grand Master.

Overall, I.Q. is a relevant performance metric to explain ranking outcomes of men and women in FIDE rankings.

However, what would be the I.Q. of the computer that won the match with Kasparov? As it stands his I.Q. is 135 as tested.

So as it stands, would you say could be the I.Q. of a computer? Technically, its zero. But it still manages to play chess and win. However, Programs have been written that will reach the 100 I.Q. level.

The hypothesis that Motivation to win does play a role in winning chess is a reasonable criteria for outcomes between the sexes.

It is funny how people like to pretend like the human brain is the only organ in the body that might not be influenced by gender or environmental conditions.

My idea is that feminists aren’t 100% wrong when they talk about “differences due socialization”, but they’re extremely exaggerating the importance of socialization.
Actually, old-style socialization of males and females tend to make the differences bigger, but even with “gender neutral education” a lot of differences are due biology and will keep surfacing – very likely the major part of the differences, and for sure 100% or close to 100% of the sexual differences and differences directly related to sex.
