If my family and friends want to stay in touch, they have ample oppurtunities without social media nonsense getting in the way. They should see me in person and do some f~~~ing effort on their part, I do the same. I commited social media suicide while I’m also an IT guy. Especially because I am an IT guy. I haven’t watched TV in a decade while being “forced” to pay for it with a regular ISP. Might change ISP when I move, it’s too much bureaucratic hassle to give a f~~~ to be honest.

I respect my family more now I’m not exposed to whatever nonsense they are blathering on about on Facebook.

Thats how my ISP is, they gave me a cable box with mine as my internet speed includes it. I asked if I could just send it back or take it back to their store, and they said I could but their computers would automatically send me another one… so its sat in my garage the past 3 years unopened.

I ditched it….in the end it became just another way for ideologues to irritate me.

I deleted mine a few years back, apart from keeping up to date with family affairs, I don’t miss it at all.

    This is great:

I’ve left Facebook almost two years ago.

My cousin was adopted from Haïti and we were using Facebook to chat…

At some point, we made a couple jokes about slavery. He started it and I think he’s completely entitled to do so. Few people on this planet have as many ancestors who were slaves…

Many people I didn’t really know and added as friend then judged me… but they didn’t even confront me. I realized it were quite dangerous to stay on such a platform people only use destructively.

They could have celebrated the fact a guy from Haïti was making jokes about slavery, but that’s not what they did.

Facebook is a great commercial platform, but to use it for the private field is damn dangerous!

I keep a FB account. Everything I put on it is vanilla and boring as hell. The only real use for me is letting my FB addicted sister know I’m still alive. Mgtow.com provides way more value than FB could ever hope to provide me.

I accepted a friendship from some c~~~ who recently broke up with her very lucky ex as we had a number of mutual friends. I look at her provocative shots sometimes as she does have a great body. The real fun is watching the blue pillers dog pile in to comment to her how great she looks. I should pop in and tell her she looks like a damn streetwalker dressed like that, but I’m scared that might attract the damn moon bat. FB is a great tool for a woman’s attention whoring or orbiter controlling needs.

I did cancel my LinkdIn account though. I did not like exposing real intimate personal details of my life on the Internet. I do agree with the reasons you guys are canceling FB though. It’s a true reflection of our society at large a virtual cesspool.

Don’t tempt me Tower. With my luck, I’d get a stalking one though. I’ve had so many crazy clingers over the years I’m terrified of them all in general. I like my private space. My personal unicorn would have to be the same too.

I’m trying to convince a friend to buy a burner phone for the bar whores he picks up instead of using his normal phone. He hits and gets and now has one nut job texting him 10 times a day. She texted him 3 times in the 1 hour I was having lunch with him last week. Stupid s~~~ like “Hey?”. He cannot seem to wrap his head around the burner phone concept. He’s cursed with pussy addiction and is a pussy magnet to boot. He’s gonna get burned.

I’ll bet Tiger Woods uses a burner phone now.

Are you kidding me??? Deleting my facebook was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  (After the first week of fb withdrawal) I was INSTANTLY happier and more content.  I’m not exaggerating.  I’m really curious about the ones who defend their use of facebook by saying they use it to communicate with people… As if there are no other ways to communicate with people?  like oh I don’t know, a phone? I mean every f~~~ing person and their dog has a phone IN THEIR POCKET pretty much all day every day.  These phones even have voicemail and text abilities.  Please someone tell me, why facebook? Seriously, why?

I deleted facespace about two months ago. Nobody posts anything original it seems anymore, it’s just regurgitated vomit. Then I would try and post something serious to initiate discussion and nobody would comment. But if I posted a funny animal video, incoming thumbs ups. Got to the point where I’d spend several hours a day glazing through the never-ending wall of bulls~~~. Eventually I realized I had my own life to live and I really didn’t care about other peoples lives. Plus as you’ve said, I’ll go see or talk to the people I truly care about.

I Deleted f~~~book 4 years ago and never looked back. What a total waste of time, if I want to get “in touch” with someone …..I’ll use the phone.
Plus, I honestly think in some data bank somewhere…we are all being counted.

The only reason I have a Facebook is to chat with two friends of mine.

If they find a new method to chat with me, I’ll gladly take it and drop Facebook for good.

I want to delete Facebook, but I REALLY want to delete G+. It’s just a f~~~ing chore posting there. I would just want to post here and move all my posts here.

I dumped facebook a few years ago. Had enough of exes trawling etc etc. i know you can set parameters etc but im a musician so used it to promo etc. I found that i suddenly had more time and was less involved in ridiculous drama.
Ive also been renovating my house. So i started on the loungeroom and moved the tv to where there was no aerial. The suddenly became much more quiet, and my kids and my stress levels reduced markedly. That was two years ago.
For myself I suddenly find that i am no longer anxious about having a funeral plan, driving a hipster suv, giving my kids the latest toys, not eating hipster takeout, and doing and buying all the things that television adds have you believe that you need.
    I also now limit newsfeeds.

I have a fake one for access to the network – so I can conduct surveillance and get access to certain groups only on FB. It has no people on it anymore. I kicked the last one out a couple of weeks ago. He kept trying to contact me on that account and I told him no and called him a beggar. He couldn’t be bothered to keep in touch via email. while his facebook keeps filling up yet with more junk. I made the decision to let him go and disappear.

This guy was so stupid about a year ago facebook deleted his account and wouldn’t tell him why. Which caused him to lose all his stuff and he became distraught. At that point he was willing to look beyond facebook, but he quickly fell back into his old ways and all hope of any plans for business outside facebook were soon cast aside.

I’ve always been a private sort. What the f~~~ would I want an entire webpage devoted to my “amazing ego” for?
Look at me! Look at me!
No, my life is my business, never been near it, not interested.

Folk used to get really upset when I told them I wasn’t on facebook because I’m not a massive narcissist dickhead. Truth burns, huh?
And narcissism is a very feminine trait, all that preening and posing and looking oh so perfect and beautiful. F~~~ing grow a pair.

No TV either, as some have stated already in this thread. That s~~~ will rot your brains and waste your life.

I keep FB for fast write with 3-5 people.
    I have 76 friends….. of whom I talk to 10 tops.
But I do post funny pics on FB (I got 5 photos of myself in fb, even thou I created my account before people even knew what FB was).

I just use it as the oldschool messenger :D.
I deleted it twice, and as you can guess, I came back to it due to a girl, and whats worse, my ex.
I know, I know, bad idea. However, I managed to break that cycle, and not because I am strong or smart, but because she is getting old and her new BF is ugly :D.

I stopped contacting her months ago, and while I dont feel like I want to live alone, I certainly dont want her back in my life.
I cant delete FB yet, I still need it for contacting 2-3 people but the good thing is I check it like once a week :D.

Oh and, not long ago FB started showing me old things I submitted and I was actually surprised I have not changed what I submit since the start.

There was a weird moment thou: It shoved my ex down my throat with “you have been friends for this long” and ofc her pic with ehr new BF were there. I looked at it for a moment, and felt like “they look so happy!”, then I remembered, oh.. its that bitch, poor guy…
And Then I fired up a game :D.

FB is clearly something I dont want in my life, but for now, its a necessary evil.
As long as I remember what it really is, I think I can handle it.
