I never had a credit card.
I have debbit cards, I have colleagues who have credit cards and I don’t even know why?
What’s the point of having a credit card?
Can some of the economic smart guys here tell me?
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
Anonymous42When you’re in a jam credit can actually save you money, like buying that waterpump you need to pump out your soon to be flooded basement saving the heating system appliances and everything else down there, fast funding when you need it.
For the mangina it’s an avenue to debt slavery buying girly girl everything!
I got married very young (My 23rd Birthday), at the suggestion, of HER, while she was using/withholding sex from me, in order for me to sign that marriage certificate…….she was much older than me, (37, at the time).
While I was just getting started on my civilian career, (I had not long left the British Forces), and so I was working my Butt off to make a future for us…….never had a chance really.
As soon as we got a mortgage, on our own apartment, she asked me “Can we have a credit card?”, I told her no……my Dad always referred to them as mobile loan cards, which is EXACTLY, how they should be viewed.
She just kept on, and on, and on about it, until I stupidly relented. So I applied for a credit card……and while ‘we’ were filling in the application form, there is a little ‘tick box’, should an extra card, (A SLAVE CARD!!), be required, of course, she was very insistent to have this SLAVE CARD, for herself, while I have the Main Primary Card for me,……she had the SLAVE CARD, for herself, but you men have to remember that a credit card is only in one name – MINE, in this case.
So I lay some ground rules down about this SLAVE CARD……I may have just as well chucked my wages down the toilet.
SHE covered up her spending, using this card, and according to HER, it was all paid off every month.
I know what you’re all probably thinking though, but when I always enquired about the financial things, she would always get funny that I “Didn’t trust her” etc, etc……that’s the SHAMING effect guys, it works a treat too doesn’t it……I carried on working 60- 70 hours a week, in this good career I had while she kept refusing me sex, (They don’t change fellas!), and she kept working on whatever part – time job she had, at the time.
One day, many years later – (I was then about mid thirties) on a weekend just before Christmas, I was sleeping after 7 night shifts, and she came into the bedroom, lay on the bed and was crying no, sobbing uncontrollably.
I of course, woke up and asked her whatever was the matter……She then proceeded to tell me that financially, we were in trouble.
We were too……Where we had agreed for her to control the money, bill paying etc etc, while I work for our future retirement together.
To cut a longer story short, within 3 years from that point, I eventually had to petition myself bankrupt, after I had moved out of course……oh the stress fellas……
I got quite ill mentally, and after 6 months off sick, from work, I couldn’t function in the most basic way……I would look at the cup and the tea-bag, and the milk and kettle, and have to literally ‘think’ how I would use these items, to make myself a cup of Tea……
I wasn’t coping with the companies chasing ME, for all the credit card payments, I actually thought that my life stopped, and I couldn’t see the point in carrying on.
I lost my apartment, my job and my sanity when I discovered just how much debt I WAS IN. Y’see fellas, the card(s) I had, were all in MY NAME, the slave cards (in her name), mean nothing to the companies. It’s the account holder, ME, who is liable. Even though I had NEVER used any of the cards.
It turned out that she had been changing one card for another, to get better interest deals, and on top of that, she had applied for a loan for £4’000.00, in my name……and when I eventually discovered all this, she would say, “don’t be silly, you signed this form”, when I knew I hadn’t……she had been forging my signature. When I put this too her, she would go ballistic mental at me……more drama to make sure you don’t call her lies too often.
MEN……there is nothing wrong with owning a credit card, particularly if you need a quick hotel booking etc, a down – payment on a car etc,…….use them very wisely, and NEVER EVER, EVER, get a woman involved in your finances.

It took me 5 years to get sorted……Goddam my naivety

Oh I forgot, I do believe she was siphoning money from me, (JOINT ACCOUNT!), over many years……I earned good money, yet was always skint……These days, it’s wonderful to have my own money, and not have to watch my back (NEVER AGAIN).

Carnage, credit cards (CCs) are useful if you know how to play their game to your advantage and if you have self control. Debit cards (DCs) I don’t trust in any way, shape or form. Basically I don’t like giving every random company I might buy from direct access to my bank account like a DC effectively does, but also when I have an issue with some charge on a CC I call up, explain, maybe offer to provide proof and in 1 minute the charge is reversed and done and is the issuer’s problem (Skype once overcharged me and this worked). With DCs once that money is out of your account it is a lot tougher to get back (try getting a cent back from Skype).
15 years ago I never used a CC but I was tired of the price of gas going up. I saw 5% refund on gas and 1.5% on everything else on a Shell Citicard and thought “if you pay it off in full every month so as not to pay interest ever, then what the hell.” Started doing that and never went back to cash again. In any year I score between $600 and $1000 hard cash in my account back on this and don’t pay a cent in interest on just my run of the mill purchases. They did finally restrict that deal so I cancelled and shopped another CC.
Recently I opened up 2 more CCs because they were offering so many air-miles for a minimal amount of purchases (that I was going to make anyway) that I get effectively 2 free flights abroad from the deal. Because of where I usually fly every 3 or 4 months where economy class is typically $1400 round trip this means $2800 in my pocket in the next year and I didn’t spend an extra dime to get it – even the first year’s CC fee was waived, and I will cancel the new CCs the minute I use the miles. Not bad, and a DC won’t get me that. ever.
Now some people will bring up credit scores but I have no need for credit anyway, but my score is way high. In that regard, though, if you anticipate a purchase like a home and want a better credit score then you should get a CC and pay it off in full every month to improve your score. Nothing late ever.
I use the CC system to work for me. The moment they pull away or restrict the benefits that I am getting, good-bye … kind of like my same approach to women, marriage, and society (although from those I walked away 22 years ago). As it is I have basically not used any paper cash in a few years although I keep $100 in my pocket just in case, and I never pay interest and only get good money back. Feel free to tell me how a DC beats that.

Damn!
Credit cards give you easy financial options when you would otherwise have to move money around to use debit cards, or pay cash.
Sometimes you just can’t get to your bank accounts, in person or via the Internet.
They are a good option if used wisely and with planning.

Anonymous71. They are handy for an Emergency.
2. I don’t trust Debit Cards.
3. If you pay them off every month (I pay mine twice a month) it really is no different then a Debit Card.
4. Rewards/Cash back.
5. Sometimes you need established credit. For example, to rent an apartment or buy a house.
7. Sometimes mistakes are made. If you use a debit card you could wake up one day to see your account at or below zero. Meaning, you make a purchase and some dips~~~ accidentally adds a few zeros. Both my ex wives screwed my credit. So, I guess I just like building credit now. My last ex missed a few CC payments years ago and my first ex never paid a bill after I had left, so it went to collections without my knowledge.
I have a couple credit cards I use for bills, food, and gas. I pay them off every month and keep the total used credit under 10%. Having credit kept me from having to ask people for help.
Self-improvement is my religion. Sovereignty is my god.
What’s the point of having a credit card?
Like others have said, it’s good to have in case of an emergency. I use mine though mostly for buying stuff online. Certain things that you want or need you can only get online.
A few years ago , I needed a new fuel transfer valve for an old truck. I had to buy it off of Amazon because the parts stores weren’t even able to order it…

How does that effect your credit rating when it’s not you that racked up the debt? Do they take into account that it was someone else using your card???

CC companies actually don’t want people paying off their cards in full every month. They want to make money on the interest. That’s why, as I understand it, they give you a higher credit rating if you don’t always pay it off in full each month. That’s what my bank told me anyway…

This sounds about right.
Here is the thing, a Credit Score is only an indication of how good you are at paying interest.I use to have a really high credit score. I doubt it is as high today as I haven’t paid a dime in interest in almost 15 years.

Have heard that too, but I don’t necessarily buy it. Not sure what rule they use as it seems to go both ways.
When I had basically no recent credit history here and I applied for that card in 2002 my score was 760. Four years later after paying in full every month and when I got my home loan my score was 825 – the only credit thing that occurred in that time was my paying in full each month.
Funny thing is I paid my home off in 4 years at which point my score was still 825, but since then and despite paying the CCs in full each month my score has dropped back to 750, but either way the exact same behavior has resulted in 2 different score directions. Only thing is I paid off a jumbo loan quite early and thus clearly demonstrated a strong desire to not pay interest, so I guess that p~~~ed the banks off. Fúck them – it’s my money and I’ll never need them again.
If you are MGTOW when you are young you have no heart.
If you're not MGTOW when you are 20 you have no brain.I’ve had a credit card since I was 18 and never paid a dime in interest, I just pay it off on time in full each month. I do it for the convenience of not having to carry a lot of cash around and because they pay me a % back as rewards…so I have actually made money having a credit card. Basically my rule has always been I don’t charge anything I know I don’t have the cash for sitting in my checking account to pay in full when the bill comes.
I have a debit card as well but I rarely use it and normally don’t even carry it around. I figure if I lose my wallet or it gets stolen or something, its a lot easier for me to dispute fraudulent credit charges I haven’t yet paid for that I never signed for, didn’t have shipped to my house, can prove I wasn’t in the area where the purchase was made at that time, etc, than it would be to have money restored to my account if someone got my debit card and managed to cash my checking account out.
Anonymous7I have a debit card as well but I rarely use it and normally don’t even carry it around
I have one and carry it around. There have been cases where my CC wouldn’t work.
Example:
I was traveling and tripped the fraud detection. Went to use my CC and ooops. Now when traveling I call the card company and let them know.
There have been a few other cases where I have tripped the fraud detection.I could get around this by carrying two CC but I was in CC trouble early in life and I can’t bring myself to get a second card.
, I have colleagues who have credit cards and I don’t even know why?
What’s the point of having a credit card?I cannot do business without one. For example, renting a car, buying a plane ticket, etc…
The debit cards are generally attached to your checking, so an error or hold can mess up your account. Plus some credit cards come with warranties on purchases and cash back options. The goal is to get all the cash back you can and never pay interest. Paid in full before the bill comes.
I like being able to rack up points on my United Mileage Plus card, for the occasional free flight to Europe, Asia, etc..
Put everything on the card, and pay it off each month.
I have a debit card as well but I rarely use it and normally don’t even carry it around.
In this day and age that surprises me. Everywhere I go, from the Walmart, to the parts stores, grocery stores, hardware stores or even the post office, they all have debit machines. I hardly ever use cash for anything anymore…
I don’t know, I just don’t like credit cards.
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
