Seems like psychiatrists and psychologists by nature are extroverts and wish to impose their beliefs of “normalcy” by stating extroversion is the only means to happiness. Since I am happier being alone, I have some type of mental disorder? Introverts tend to have higher IQ’s, tend to be more logically oriented, and act less on emotional drives. I am not attempting to bash the extrovert, but many extroverts hold misguided beliefs that introverts are genetically flawed. It seems like introversion is unjustly non-conducive to the business/corporate world as well.

Introversion is not a mental disorder. End of story.

Extroverts as defined by the West just mean someone that is easily controlled and manipulated by mass media. But in terms of criminal activity and actual psychological disorder, there is zero question that the vast majority of it is committed by so-called extroverts.

I’m an introvert and I don’t have a mental disorder but I’ve heard the same thing. Looking back at it all it seems that others are envious that you’re not reliant on people. It’s the social push to be like them that you’re not following. There seems to be a subconscious or conscious hate from those that have fallen victim to societal norms to be extroverted against you; they don’t like that you’re introverted because it reminds them that they gave up their own identity to fit in with the crowd.

When I look at an introvert I see someone who just doesn’t accept the norms being forced upon them. They’re outcast or shamed or made fun of because of it but it’s not a bad thing, in fact it’s a good thing; it’s usually a different point of view from what’s being presented on the surface by everyone else falling in line. Yes it can be awkward and make an introvert feel out of place in a group but it isn’t a bad thing in any way.

I am an introvert and the voices told me that I don’t have a mental disorder.

    I choose to believe them.

It may very well be envy. I have tested highly introverted. (INTP personality type) Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiver opposed to Extroverted Sensing Feeling Judger. I consider myself blessed and cursed. I can see many of our worlds lies, yet I am not highly tuned to the social aspects of humans. My fellow extrovert friends wish to dictate their lifestyle upon me, which I condemn. I generally don’t care that much about you or your friends, yet if you show me empathy and caring, I will be your brother for life. Unfortunately, this tends to be a rarity in todays narcissistic society.

I just completed my BA in Psychology.  Not an expert but I know this to be true.

Introversion and extroversion are behavioral traits that are inherited.

Hi, my name is Oaken1 and I am an introvert.

Mental disorders?? Sure….so what? A smart person would see that as a valid reason to just leave me the f~~~ alone,….let me be,…stay away. Unfortunately there are not very many smart people in the world.

I have Asperger’s Syndrome,…minor Tourette’s, and ADHD…. I bounce off the walls all inside my head and do not have the communication skills to explain it to anyone else….I have sensory input issues so I stay away from crowds….I always say the wrong thing and I lack emotional empathy so I stay away from one on one situations as well.

On the occasion I get myself focused however I am extremely creative……I was a straight “A” student all through high school and finished college with a 3.87 GPA.while working 50 hours a week……

I was born with those “Disorders” and they help me be who I am and have not really “reduced” me as an individual….”enhanced” is a better word I think.

However,…when you consider I was molested four different times before I was 10, three times by females and once by a man…then I was raked over the coals and completely ass raped by the courts on two separate occasions during divorce…..told by my Director at work I can not get the promotion I earned because I am a white male, and she cannot put any more white males into management until someone quits,….Yeah, I am a pretty angry, bitter, f~~~ed up individual…..but birth didn’t do it to me, lol …being an introvert if anything, actually helps me maintain my sanity…the world f~~~ed me up… everybody has “Mental Disorders” but the created ones in my opinion are far worse for people than the natural ones.

Introversion and extroversion are both very normal. I’m extroverted which does seem to be a minority here. There’s no reason to ever apologize to anyone for being one or the other. I think it’s really more of misunderstanding each other’s way of viewing the external world. My family is a mixture of both as are my friends. I freak my introverted friends out whenever I start up conversations with total strangers in public. I enjoy both types and do not judge either. We simply process external things differently which seems foreign to the other.

I agree soldier-medic. My grandfather (moms side) was an engineer for NASA and my father is more extroverted. Considering my stance on being a voluntary isolationist, I consider myself a “happy” introvert. “Oh a flawed human being, we must stop him”. I love being alone and attempting to discover the realities in which us humans abide to.

People are different. Its how just how things are. If you embrace yourself and who you truly are then it does not really say what Mr/Mrs_______ says. Just enjoy life. Whether it is enjoying a good book of how someone reached success or hearing someones story of how they personally reached success. Whether it be video games alone or with buddies. Life is a platter enjoy your favorite dish

Introverts need to be recognized as intellectuals. They need to be praised opposed to being avoided. They offer many objective solutions to our worlds crises, yet they are unheard at a sickening scale. We are the silent words of wisdom, yet neglected by the loud morons of todays society.

No doubt a diagnosis from the same assholes that have been telling us that boys are broken girls, women are equal to men, the national debt is not a problem, ISIS is just a little misguided, Guns are murderers, holy matrimony “under” the laws of governmental matrimony, yea who’s the f~~~ing nut? This is the only place on earth that I’ve found ample supply of sanity and critical thinking…

Being introverted has it’s advantages to seeing the world as it really is, not how they wish it were! Extroverted people (social engineers) tend to project their views on the world, like a drive in projecting into the fog, it’s all “projection” without “assessment”.  I don’t get along with the extroverted, they babble and yack till my ears melt over and cover the canals ( about 5 min.).  Extroverts are the worst decision makers on the planet, they go by consensus as they never see the obvious. I’m very fortunate to be on Spock’s side, extroverts are “naturally opposed” and should not be the ones to judge.

Another thing, Extroverted people tend to be scumbags and swindlers, no wonder their trying to discredit us! F~~~in Scumbags!

I am extroverted when communicating with like-minded people, but because there are not too many of them – I simply don’t bother.
I am no psychologist, but it appears to me that Introvert/Extravert dualistic paradigm is shallow, because that’s not the basic innate feature of a character, but just an artificial useful construct describing behavioral traits.  Although I score highly on introversion, I don’t consider myself one… It’s just I’m so different from others that I rarely fit in a group, therefore I behave in ways that look like introversion from the outside

As far as mental disorders – sure, “doctors” armed with DSM can (and did) put lots of labels on me – like ADHD, anxiety, depression, drug-addiction, alcoholism, ODD ))), MGTOW )))))) – but this is all bulls~~~, which only applies if you yourself believe that you have that. As soon as I realized that and stopped self-identifying with these “disorders” – they went away and now I am completely off all meds and healthier than ever. IMO there is only a number of real mental disorders – like schizophrenia, psychopathy and other serious s~~~. The rest of them are very minor and mostly made-up in order to make trillions of dollars on managing people suffering from psychotropic pill addictions. Watch a movie on youtube “Marketing of Madness” – it will set the record straight. It did wonders for me

Tower – the Extroverted tend to attempt to  impede upon my will as well. They simply do not understand that I cherish my own company over theirs. They feel this is a mental disorder, which I will happily refute. I am over 90% introvert (tested via personality tests) common sense to me before testing however. I am deemed as an anti-social bigot, without credibility, why so?  Why is it criminal to read, learn, and be an observer from the sidelines? Why? I love me, yet you extroverts want to claim I am “incomplete”. I love my life and love sent to all other introverts that are demeaned in the same aspects I am. You should probably credit yourself more than you currently do, you are integral parts of our society.

Extroverted people tend to be scumbags and swindlers

As the lone extrovert on this thread, I will admit that we can sling some bulls~~~. I use it to entertain people and get people to do things for my clients. A true introvert would not be very good at swindling.

@Oaken: Tower’s lack of emotion is what makes him so awesome.
@FG: I understand and respect what you’re talking about. I have periods where I like to be alone too. I get energized around people though.

CV – I do not ostracize your will to connect to others, I feel most introverts logically believe extroversion tends to be the norm and they do not ostracize it. I do not feel that the opposite behavior should be demeaned however as well. My life has taught me that nearly all individuals hold (some) strengths beyond my comprehension. I wish to learn what I do not know from them.

It seems that FreeGhosts’ question has turned into a free for all of selfishness. Let’s bring it back to FreeGhost; no you’re not strange you’re fine. Yes, you will have to deal with bulls~~~ more often than someone who abandons their own selves to fit in. No, you’re not alone. Yes you have a right to be who you are.

    You have support.

Arch – have you not felt that you were the odd man out? Introversion is treason amongst our world of lies. Whoever talks the most bulls~~~ reeks the most financial rewards.
