It has been since 2001, you are just not in one of the countries who realizes it yet. Most people don’t wake up until s~~~ is at their doorstep, ask people in the Mid East and E.U. how things are going…

I think about 2 million have been killed in the Mid East since 2001, I’d say that would be SHTF to you if you lived over there.

Before I was born, you could see bomb shelters advertised in magazines. When I was in the 6th grade, the “end of the world” was coming in 1984. After that, there were predictions planets would align and pull the moon out of orbit destroying us all – or something like that. Judgement Day would then be moved to 1997….

…. and then of course the “Millennium” was coming, and even my own mother filled her bathtub with water JUST IN CASE so she would have something to drink. I drove far out of town to a winter home in the wilderness wth no electricity and only wood for the fire and melted ice from the lake for water on Dec 28th 1999 and came back Jan 2 2000. Everything was exactly as it was. And Mom uneventfully drained her bathtub.

Then off course the government shutdown scare came. That didn’t happen.

So you can predict & prepare all you like, but one of the greatest personal lessons I ever learned was to stop worrying about things – before they happen.

On one random Tuesday in 2009 I was driving on a dark freeway at midnight and my car burst into flames – inside the car. I pulled over immediately and ran out thinking it was going to explode. That morning, I had picked it up from the garage in PERFECT shape too and even bought new leather for the seats. I watched it burn by the side of the road… with no cell phone reception, and it was 5 AM when I was found.

The biggest problems in your life will blindside you at midnight on some idle Tuesday. So don’t worry about it.

I don’t know that hell will ever completely break loose. Women are very adaptable. On an individual level, you’ll just see less women identifying as feminists. They’ll realize what a great deal they had staying home with the kids and letting someone else pull the plow. They’ll put out a little more often and then complain about it to the hive while you’re at work. And most guys will think they found a unicorn.

Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I just don’t see it happening on a macro level. The power of the vagina is very strong for most men.

I rarely agree with Joe but he is right. The s~~~ storm is already going on—its no less of s~~~ storm if its speed is at a creep. Sometimes the s~~~ storm is like quicksand its a while before your head goes under. As for a single devastating calamity event well I think we have a little waiting….but I’m prepared and hoping. Just so I can say–“I told you so” to all the nay-sayers.

Too many variables. Events could unfold that accelerate the process or put it off for decades. I honestly spend less time thinking about national or global SHTF. What I do think about is my own personal SHTF event and how to deal with it.

The last big prediction (I believe) was 2012. They even made a movie about it! A little too much CGI perhaps but I really liked it…
