Alberta was governed by right-wing parties for close to 80 years.  The socialist New Democratic Party is something new and it has investors nervous.

 

As for beer, the stuff from the major breweries is OK, but has no real flavour and isn’t terribly exciting.  It’s been that way since the two big ones, Molson and Labatt, were taken over by foreign companies.  I started home brewing while I was finishing my second master’s degree after an undergrad in our lab convinced me to do so as his father ran a home brewing supply store.  I’ve been making my own stuff for over 20 years.

If you want to get away from it all, just about any place along the Alaska Highway past Blueberry (popularly referred to as “101” because it’s located at Mile–wait for it–101) should do.  Try around Muncho Lake–a few clicks off the main road and there ain’t nobody there but the moose and the grizzlies, or at least that’s how it was when I was in the area in the early 1970s.

The state that Canada currently finds itself in is the result of too many years of Leftist, Liberal federal governments over the past five decades. It didn’t just happen over night.

Compounding the problem is that Canadian right wing political parties have had to continually keep slithering left if they wanted any hope of defeating a left wing government. Canada now has no true right wing federal party. Just varying degrees of left leaning from the centre.

Alberta is learning it’s lesson now. The NDP Notley government is already finished. Alberta just has to wait it out until the next provincial election in 2019 to boot their NDP asses out of power.

The Alberta PC’s and the Wildrose now know that it was a colossal mistake to split the right wing vote. When Jason Kenney wins the PC leadership race in a few weeks from now, he will immediately engage with Wildrose leader Brian Jean to dissolve the two right wing parties and reform a new party that is certain to beat the NDP in the next provincial election.

The threat now is the current NDP government calling an early election before the Alberta PC’s and the Alberta Wildrose can get their s~~~ together.

Right now, Alberta is the only hope for unf~~~ing some of the damage done by the Leftists. When the Alberta PC’s and the Wildrose merge, they can join forces with the neighbouring Saskatchewan Party’s leader Brad Wall to fight Trudeau and the federal Liberals.

Outsiders need to pay attention to what is happening in current Alberta politics. Changes are coming for the better…
