Here is a true story about a friend of mine. He was dating a rich girl for almost 2 years. She was a spoiled little princess. Regarding the hard working, poor guy that spent $10k on a ring.

She didn’t cancel the engagement because the diamond was too small.

If she really is a rich, spoiled princess then she was conditioned by her wealthy father to calculate the big picture: not just ring size.

And she spent two weeks coming to the conclusion that her potential future husband would not be able to spoil her at the level daddy already did. At least the bigger jewelry stores usually have a 1-2 month return window. I guess they know that if guys propose and get rejected, they’d want to return the ring. A smaller shop? You’re probably s~~~ out of luck

That’s right. Last time I checked he still has the ring. I think he overpaid on it too. He is an old friend of mine and his step Dad told me the story so I don’t know all the details. I know he has to make steady payments on it still, so its a worst case scenario. This post made me remember his f~~~ed up story. Also he is a really blue pill guy, but maybe not anymore.
