What Happened To Chivalry?

I grew up watching older men being respectful to women and doing stuff like holding the door open for them. I naturally wanted to emulate these men so I could one day be respected as a gentleman.

Unfortunately, I think feminism has given women too many reasons to hate or resent men to the point where they want to show off their independence. A lot of women want to prove that they can handle their business without men. So when they combined that attitude with public drunken behavior after a night of partying, they’ve pretty much killed the desire for men to be chivalrous.

I don’t think chivalry is dead in the USA—the old ladies seem to appreciate it more because they grew during a time when women respected men—but it is dying. I feel like it is my duty to help others in need, and protect those who are weak—like the knights of old times. But I also feel like it is a wasted effort when it comes to helping the self-righteous feminists. I like being a gentleman, but I’d rather be that way in a country where women actually act like ladies and enjoy their role in society while respecting my role.

Feminists killed it, they said out right they wanted to be treated the same as men. If you held a door years ago a woman would say thank you. If you hold one today she’s likely to shout at you whilst filming a ‘sexist monster’ feels women need special treatment and aren’t equal.
They spin it as if you are holding it open for a woman to ‘permit her into the building like a power thing, not that you are just being polite. I’ve read that exact argument that it is a domination thing.
That’s what happened to chivalry and manners, the women that benefited from it, killed it.

I was born in 1973, things were still pretty conservative back then at least compared to now. I grew up watching John Wayne films, James Bond and a lot of old films in general. I still love old films. I actually like the way men and women interacted back then and I love the romance of it all.

The problem is that women are no longer really women, they have lost their femininity and sensitive/nurturing side. All you have left is the shell of a woman and all the bad traits like materialism and being a whore.

Yes, there still are some women over 40 really who like it but I was through trying to work out which ones liked it and didn’t like it well before I got to MGTOW. Too much has changed and society no longer has any interest in romance or subtle nuance.

I use that phrase all the time.

Not bound by chivalry. If I feel like holding the door for someone, i will. If I don’t, I won’t. i dont care what anyone else thinks. they don’t know if i am in a hurry, or preoccupied with a problem, or am in the middle of a more pressing matter. I am not setting aside the things I need to get done because of an outdated convention that many do not even appreciate and would instead attack me for following. I do not care and i don’t have to explain it to anyone else.

Don’t cast pearls before swine. Don’t do things for people who can’t appreciate them.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

An individual man in this society chooses his chivalry. I think local tolerance levels play a part as well.

I’m from and still residing in a marxist metro area. My chivalry is almost non existent. I’m not disrespectful, I make sure I look for no.1 first.

Now when I get the funds to set myself up in a more neighborly centered region. I will make sure, I’m a gentleman as often as possible. I wouldn’t want to alienate my neighbors and be resented. That would make maintaining ghost much more difficult.

Terrance Pop says that chivalry has always been about how men treat each other. I agree with the statement.

Young women are the worst for opening the door just wide enough for themselves and letting it slam on whoever is following behind.

Not to mention that women don’t give a second thought to divorce raping a man and leaving him penniless.

Chivalry has turned inward! I treat myself like royalty!

I treat women the same way they treat men! Except with RESPECT, and it’s more for me than it is for them, however it’s no different than feeding a pig moldy bread from the trash bin, it cost nothing but is priceless in self esteem!

Women killed it by rebranding considerate, empathetic behaviors as condescension and violence. Men have been recharacterized as savage brutes.

Chivalry is a warrior’s code, but we’re not a warrior culture anymore and we haven’t been for two hundred years. The behaviors stuck around while men had some semblance of authority, but now it’s just all “evil.” F~~~ them. Get your own job, get your own door, and you’re paying for my time now.
