Sorry, that was a typo…I meant to write “I have a series of questions”. But yes, I was looking for answers. These are terms I hear and see all the time, I wanted to know what the guys here thought.

This is why you don’t listen to any of that s~~~. To be even more clear, even though I said “it’s gay”, it doesn’t mean it’s not masculine. It means women and gays are so obsessed with talking about what’s “masculine” it’s ridiculous…… but a woman has no concept of masculinity outside of the scope of what she wants him to do for her. (Ie. Pay for everything, open doors, say this, do that, dress like this, don’t do that, etc.) “What it means to be masculine” is re-interpreted by women with no consistency whatsoever. Defining it is womanly. As explained in the book: “The Manipulated Man” (note the word in the title: “manipulated”). When something is USEFUL to a woman, she will think it’s “masculine” and she will use the term “real man” to describe a man who is dumb enough to be her useful tool. When something is NOT useful to her, she will pretend he’s “not a real man”. That’s why it’s bulls~~~.”
What do you mean by gay? I suppose the word has become tainted by the way it is often used in society (by women, mostly). I am definitely aware of the way the “real man”/”masculine man” trope is used as either a shamming tactic, or a tactic for manipulation, but I wanted to know if any other interpretations were out there…different perspectives on the definition. I will make a point to read the book you mentioned.

What I meant though, is it biologically normal? Surely nurture isn’t the only factor that contributes to this. I’m starting to think that men inherently have more emotional depth than women, even though it has always been seen as otherwise. I can’t tell if a women is legitimately experiencing emotions or just pretending to. A lot of the things that are seen as positive “feminine” traits, seem to apply more to men, and a lot of the negative “masculine” traits, apply more to women. I know more shallow women than I do men, and I know more caring men than I do women. Where the hell do all these stereotypes come from, and why are they incorrectly contributed? Is this just my anecdote?

I didn’t realize there was a glossary before I posted , but I have read it now. I didn’t mean to inconvenience anyone, but I have seen those terms used in many different ways (including ways that seem completely unfair).
