Hey guys it’s been a while, I’m fresh out of high school, I literally graduated yesterday, I can take it easy at least until August, I still have to figure whether or not I’m staying in the states for college, choices are; to stay in the states for cinema and media productions or go to my native country Nigeria. If I stay in the states I can take advantage of Georgia’s growing movie industry, but if I go to Nigeria the school would be cheaper and I’d get to learn from my business owner of an uncle and my father who’s a doctor over there and become a doctor in five years, I even seem to exhibit a similar apptitude as my dad towards the field, the thing keeping in this delimena is the flexibility of majoring cinema and media production in Georgia. Sorry for the long post I’ve talked people about this and I keep getting subjected answers I’d figure I try my luck asking some older guys who’ve seen and done some s~~~.

Relax. Don’t over think it. You have plenty of time. Enjoy the journey and focus less on the destination.

    You will find your path.

    Good luck.

If you are close with family, that only lasts so long. Soon enough both of you will be to old to do.

You’ll need to find a balance between what you enjoy and what’s going to pay the bills. If film is your passion, and you think you can make money pursuing it, that sounds like your best option. Even if being a doctor cuts you a bigger check, it may not be worth it to go to work every day to a job you don’t even enjoy.

I know lots of people don’t enjoy work no matter what and will simply tell you to take the highest paying job. As for me, I enjoy what I do, and I wouldn’t trade it for a job that pays more but doesn’t interest me.

I agree with Market Watcher. Become a Doctor. It sets you up for life and buys other freedoms.

Is your life, decide, no one can tell you what to do.

However, what ever you do remember YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE A LIVING OUT OF IT. It is true that if you follow MGTOW life style your spendings will be low, becouse in my particular case a woman has been the most expensive and useless investment I have done.

Cinema and media production? Do you see yourself as a guy that can make it in that field? How are your abilities to make connections?
Are you good at creating a circle of influence?
How is the availability of work in that sector?

Im a doctor, in Spain, health care here is totally socialist, I make 42-52,000€ a year, after taxes 30-38,000€ a year, there is a lot of work in my field, but as you can see compared to the rest of the civilized world IM GETTING A BAD SALARY, and I don’t feel anything towards my profession anymore, I’m very professional and I do my best, but I got no pasión at all. The same could happen to you, but you father is a doctor, so you must know if you are gonna be satisfied with that job. I didn’t have that insight.

I know lots of people don’t enjoy work no matter what and will simply tell you to take the highest paying job.

If you can safely make a significant amount more being a doctor…why not just suck it up for 10 years or whatever, live frugally, and pack money into investments. If your making good money it doesn’t take long before work is optional…then go do whatever the heck you want.

Its all perspective of course but I’d rather be financially independent before I’m 40 even if I have to work a job I’m not thrilled about than working a job I might enjoy a bit more but be perpetually broke and worried about money…and let’s be honest…how many people with a degree like “cinema and media” even end up working in their field…let alone making good money in it? Not trying to crush dreams or anything…but that plan seems like a great way to end up with a bunch of student debt and a low paying job.

Georgia has plenty of great educational opportunities for you to take advantage of while you are here. You know what awaits you back in Nigeria, continue learning what is offered here.

Go to college / university and look into both Pre-Med and Mass Communications / New Media. You can Major with a minor or Double Major. This will allow you to see what might be in store for you in the future. Do it now as you do not know if you’ll be back if you leave.

Regarding MD’s, know that anything out of the ER or Trauma will lead to 15 minute appointments for 30 years of your life. Insurance is the king and the medical community is the serf. Choose wisely and congratulations on your graduation.

Who said anything about being perpetually broke? That’s a false dichotomy. No surprise that someone would reduce my point to the cliched “follow your heart and do whatever you want” without bothering to read the nuances.

About 18 months ago, I was subjected to a vexatious claim to the medical board after refusing to sign illegal social security paperwork (wallinated c~~~ also complained about my practice aesthetics). Of course, living in Anarcho-Tyranny the medical board requires me to lick the sole of their boot. I have done my 30 years as a Doctor, and am now a “threat to public safety”. I am due to re register in 4 months. I am seriously considering NOT re registering and giving the medical board phone # as the contact number to have hundreds of medical records transferred. Even though there is not a lot of employment about, I have been MGTOW monk and have 5 years of living expenses saved, and could put time into improving practice “Aesthetics” and renting my practice to cover my living expenses… looking like a plan to me.

With the kind of PC SJW CRAP they are making for movies, I would steer clear of that Industry, and I’m also assuming that the jobs are not really all that plentiful never mind stable.

There will always be a job and a future for a doctor.
