Great point! Thats one of our priorities right now: Custom Fields.

When you joined, we had a number of optional custom fields to fill out …… like what city you’re in, and how long you’ve been a MGTOW “since”. That data still exists, but we are not displaying it as shown right now…. and you need to be able to edit them. So that’s next, probably this weekend or sooner. We had to make “the big switch” and flip bigger switches first, like getting your forums activity consolidated and favorites all viewed in one place.

One of those custom fields you previous had control over was your custom signature. That will be one of them. We require a little patience because we have jobs and lives too. But it’s at the top of the list.

Sounds great, some of those features will without a doubt be time savers, when checking in. And it goes without saying that you, and diligent volunteers, constant (hard)work on improving the site, for men is something that’s to be admired.

Don’t know about others but I wouldn’t mind having a random recommended audio clip of say, Tom Leykis, as you log in on to your profile, I always end up listening to the one on the front page, when the forums are under attack, even under unfortunate times, there is something good to take from that.

Also it seems like my first attempt to quote ended in the whole post not showing up and being swallowed, don’t know if it’s a bug or something.

That’s actually very popular. We have noticed some visitors appear to be “asleep” on the homepage. They stay there for quite a while! And we realized they were listening to the audio or watching the testimonials rotator …. which takes like 10 minutes. They also like to reload the page often and watch the random video intros and animations.

We have A LOT planned for the member homepage. (your profile) but a random / recommended new feature audio is a great idea. The archives are there for storage and reference materials and for site visitors to do their own homework to understand MGTOW and less for you and me members.

At the moment if want to add something to the member homepage. we have to do it manually. and that involved hand coding. But we will soon add “widgets” in there and be able to change stuff on the fly. We just made this big move yesterday and have been very busy for days leading up to it. So quite frankly we’re exhausted and need a little break to reboot.

I am doing just that quite often. I also like the ‘Recent Forum Replies’ feature at the top of the forums page.

Great! The “LAST 10” (topics and replies) button is currently available in your profile. We moved it yesterday for reasons explained in my aside in my first comment in this thread. Every time the forums page is reloaded, it not only has to get all the topics in that list, but it ALSO needs to hammer out 10 of the most recent topics and replies. The solution is explained in my first response to you. It was slowing the forums down.

But pulling it from the green buttons on your profile right now is a great way to see the latest 10 (or 100) as soon as you log in. We just had to pull it out of the forums pages.

I went back to read what you said about the latest replies and I realized this may have sounded not as I intended.
Let me clarify. I wish that you become insanely rich, as you should and deserve. I have nothing against profits, on the contrary, I support and endorse anyone who profits from his honest labor.

As for monetary contributions from us, this has been discussed in other threads, by me included, and was concluded that many possible solutions would be impractical. I am sure this issue will come up again (especially after the private messages thing kicks in) and a solution will be found, since many men don’t like to get something for nothing. Until then, I do my (very small) part by clicking on some of the ads you started having on the site.

All good! Mostly the profile is there as a sort of “Member homepage”. Your profile is on it but we can bring you news and announcements and and a bunch of site wide features right there as soon as you arrive. The favorites (from the archive) will be shown there too – when you favorite a video or something. Then we will build forum posts into that.

The BIG relief is finally combining your forums profile with your front-end profile. These were separate previously and now you can see your latest forum posts /topics and replies in an endless list if you want.

Sounds good, some of them certainly are going to save some time browsing, wouldn’t mind a daily dose of random selected/recommended Tom Leykis radio favourites, each time the forums have been down, I listen to the one that were on the front page , lol.

I don’t know about others, but I always just bookmark the forum-page, don’t know if others do too, don’t know if it might be useful?

Actually yes! We would have implemented already but we had to get serious about fixing other problems. The “force strong passwords for everyone” thing (On Oct 22) was the best move we made, really. Big inconvenience for everyone , but damn near NOBODY complained about it and made big changes you can’t see – like supporting local image uploads(!!!!) and things like that.

TIP: If you want to localize an image here (instead of relying on picture from another website0, you can post it on your “wall” and the right click to get the local link for it. It goes in YOUR member# folder so we know who uploaded it.

We also want to do everything properly.……… so while we can just trow a chat feature up pretty quickly, there has to be a strict QA (quality assurance) phase…. and we have to ask all the questions and find the BEST solution. Like what is it for? How many users will it support at once? Do people want it ? Should it be only for those in a certain group? Should we have groups? And all of that. A few other things first before live chat. And we have a few surprises we want to release first.

You can ask anywhere, really, but the Q&A forum is where others will go to read other questions. This may be less visible to others. But I will answer it here.

We restrict the ability to edit your post to 30 minutes. We can increase that to an hour if you really want it, but the reason we don’t allow edits after a certain time is important. You don’t want someone (or even a troll) to post a bunch of s~~~….. have a bunch members spend their time reading and replying to exactly what they wrote…….. and THEN still have the ability to change or delete anything / or everything. It just adds an extra level of removing asshole behavior. It’s not right to generate replies from others and then change it.

As an example….. a member recently asked us to delete 3 entire threads — after generating like 100 replies – because they didnt get the responses they were hoping for. It was like a dickhead troll who just wanted to stir up s~~~….. and then in convenience us to delete everything. What the f~~~ is the point of that?? We can’t allow members to play with other people’s time like that.

You have 30 minutes to make a change or an edit, and if you want to make one later, just send us a link to the post you want to modify. Happy to comply, but throwing entire threads out is not a cool practice.

Oh no it’s there! That was the big challenge. Combining your (previious) forums profile with your site profile.

just click the Forums tab right under your avatar.
(Maybe we should change the label to be more obvious, like “your forums topics and replies”. )

Thanks KM makes prefect sense now you have explained it, 30 mins is plenty even for me that always reads my posts from an outsider looking in only after its up and 30 mins is usually enough time, preview button would help me in that respect, I think Im making sense when writing it but only notice it makes no sense at all after reading it a few times lol bit slow like that me.
