Who all here has pretty much given up on the wasteland that is TV? Used to be a big fan of “Everybody Loves Raymond”. Now that I’m living the Red Pill Life, my eyes have been opened to how much of a CUCK Ray is. No wonder that show won so many Emmys. And they even gave on to the bitch instead of Ray, who supposedly was the star of the show.

I used to love stuff like History Channel or science documentaries such as Cosmos. I just saw the remake of that one recently with Neil deGrasse Tyson. It was so politicized I almost threw up in my mouth.

I can’t even watch sports anymore. ESPN has gone crazy…should stand for “Ex-Sports Political Network”! Only 1% of all TV shows are any good, and that might even be generous. I’d much rather PLAY golf than watch it. I only put it on now when I want to take a nap.

There used to be an excellent website called turnoffyourtv.com. It used to explain how TV makes people unhealthy and brainwashed. We all know that it’s one of the major tools of Big Brother anyway.

If you’re not convinced, try telling your cable company you just want internet and to cancel the TV service. They will almost do backflips to get you to keep the box. They told me it would actually be MORE expensive just to have internet alone when they tried to raise my rates. They extended my original deal for another year just so I wouldn’t return my box. I’m convince that the NSA or some s~~~ is using it to spy on us. I just unplugged mine. Been doing just fine without it.

I can remember not that long ago watching Dish TV. Over 600 channels of crap I didn’t want to watch. I’d find an old movie and watch it. Now, I watch old movies on my computer and I love watching old Johnny Carson re-runs on youtube. I don’t miss cable or Dish At All!

This is my favorite topic of them all .. no kidding. I can no longer watch anything including the news on broadcast tv. It makes me physically sick; actual nausea. The quick-cut fast editing and endless use of the queasy-shaky-cam .. and the ever increasing number of commercials per hour. The news is no longer news but just speculation and glitz. The evening broadcast news is nothing but a few minutes of hype and then prescription drug commercials.
I could go on for paragraphs why I hate, detest and abhor contemporary tv but I won’t bore you with more than just a few more sentences since I love to bash it so much. I don’t have to watch the fluff and stuff they are dishing out. I can cull my own viewing using disc only collection and completely cutting from the media grid.
Having said this how much I hate everything about terrestrial, satellite and cable .. I have my own DVD collection built up over the past twenty plus years and watch my own selected titles. Most of it is vintage picked and gleened from the seventies through nineties. Lots of great old musical concerts and just about everything I could want in sci-fi. The majority of my old movies go back much further so I can escape the crud being pushed today by media companies.
What a difference being my own program director and having my own cable spanning the distance between my disc player and my viewing screen. There are no signals entering my house by antenna or cable and never will, again. It didn’t cost that much. I have chased auctions and sales over the years to store enough media on disc so it will take me about three years to view everything once watching one or two shows per evening. Will never longer bow down to cable, satellite or terrestrial ever again. Tonight I’m watching “The Enemy Below 1957” Curd Jurgens and a Phil Collins concert “Live and Loose in Paris 1998” both on disc. No commercials and no need anything from the outside world of media, ever again. If I store these collected discs properly, in a cool dry place upright in 7mm thin-cases .. they should theoretically serve me for decades living in broadcast isolation. I’ve found that some of the early years 14mm DVD cases seem to possibly give off plastic solvent vapors that might be the cause of premature disc rot damage found in early DVDs; so I’ve gone exclusively to the thin-cases for long term disc storage.

In early 2000 I lived without TV for about 3 years. When I had it again I was shocked to see how homosexual everything now was.

Most TV shows seems to be created to make people numb & dumb. Personally, I couldn’t watch a half hour of “real housewives” without trying to shoot myself in the head. I find it hard to believe that people are actually entertained by a bunch of wealthy women spending the day bitching (while their husbands are out earning a paycheck). These women don’t cook, clean, or even babysit their own kids.

I was sitting in a fast food place a few days ago. There was some stupid reality show on MTV. For 10 minutes I listened to some teenage girl drone on & on & on about her problems. She had a depressing monotone voice. When I was a teenager, MTV actually had music videos—some of them were fun to watch.

There’s very few TV shows that I’m interested in. I like PBS because they have news stories (not the supermarket tabloid stories of the cable news networks), science programs, and documentaries. I used to watch Wall Street Week every Friday night until they ruined it by making it glossy and CNBC-like.

I liked watching the TV show, Flip or Flop, but the co-stars are getting a divorce. That show was a learning experience for people interested in real estate. And it also featured beautiful, expensive Orange County, CA houses.

I like the internet more than TV. If I want to watch something educational, I can find it on YouTube. If I want to learn about a subject, I can look it up. I recently read a book about mathematicians. This book explained the importance of the mathematical discoveries of these men (such as: Fibonacci and Newton). That book was far more interesting than some reality show crap about spoiled, bratty girls or some idiots living on an island.

I don’t watch much TV anymore. I’ve always hated Everyone Loves Raymond, because Raymond is portrayed to be a retard.

History Channel jumped the shark when they started up with the fake history nonsense shows.

I watch pretty much everything on the computer now and the stuff on Youtube is lightyears ahead of the trash the MSM is producing – History Buffs anyone?. Most of the movies/TV I watch I have either on DVD, or in unrestricted digital formats. Mostly comprises stuff from the 1930s-2000s and rarely a bit newer than that.

A couple of nights ago I watched a movie called Captains Courageous (1996), it was a bit stale, but it was a no nonsense story about a spoiled rich kid growing up to become a decent person.

If you want your DVDs/Blu-Rays/data to last a long time. Burn them onto M-DISCs, they are expensive, but with a supposed lifespan of a thousand years, they should last long enough to outlast you.

The same thing happened to me. So I pay for “basic” cable with my internet and I just don’t hook my TV up to it. I use a big screen TV as my computer monitor, but I haven’t watched any real over the air TV in so many years. I just bought a new 75″ TV and I have no idea if the actual cable connection on the back even works as I’ll never use anything except the HDMI connection to connect to my PC.

TV absolutely sucks. It’s full of political BS and gays kissing and s~~~ that they shove down your throat. There are so many stupid commercials now too, but even without commercials the s~~~ty ass TV shows aren’t worth watching.

I’ve had an ad blocker on my computer for so many years. Every time I see an ad or commercial I just can’t handle it. It P~~~ES ME OFF so bad when I see an ad or commercial that I don’t even want to buy the product they’re advertising, even if it is something useful that I would buy. Though honestly, if it really was a good, useful product, I would have found it by myself. I’m not a stupid ass woman that needs to be told what to buy. “Ooh, look at this useless piece of s~~~! My cousin tipped me off to Roku. I got a Roku box from Amazon for about $40. This thing has just about any TV show or movie you could want for free. It’s basically a Raspberry Pi with a Linux O/S and the Roku app installed. No fees or subscriptions.

No wonder they want to lock the internet down. The Internet is freedom from the NWO controlled mainstream media and gives the little guy a voice. Internet in my opinion is now as important as the 2nd Amendment! We need to fight tooth-and-nail to keep it running, open, and free.

OK, so what do you use for Internet? Not being snarky, just would like to know what alternatives are out there besides cable and telco. Would just love to get rid of cable entirely if I could find a good, cheaper alternative. Thanks.

Same thing happened with me a few months back I canceled my satellite and they told me it would cost more if I just wanted a phone and internet. The customer service agent told me I should expect a call from their supervisor to confirm the details of the cancelation and would get a call in the next day or two. Someone called me from the company and I could hear them on the other line breathing while I said hello. Still no response so I told the person on the other end to do their job and answer the damn phone when I say hello and the person hung up on me.

I got so p~~~ed I called the phone company back and made a big stink about it and I got to talk to a supervisor and threatened to cancel everything because of the way I was treated and they reduced my bill from $130 a month (just for phone and internet) down to $62.50 after they applied their promotion codes.

They said after one year I will have to pay the $130 again and to call to get new promotions applied to get it reduced again. This was a female supervisor too which surprised me that she was being so candid about it and helping me out. She knew that this happened on a regular basis and tried to make me happy because I was really ready to cancel everything. For the first month I paid only $4 after everything was reduced she added more discounts.

Second month it went back to around $90 I called again asking wtf was going on the customer service agent said one of the promotion codes was in the system but would not be applied until the following month and I was basically out of luck. Again asked to speak to a supervisor he said nothing he could do. Told him if they could manually reduce my bill to $4 last month they sure as hell could do it again this month and reduce it to $62.50 like they promised. After he talked to his supervisor it was reduced on their end and now I am paying what was agreed upon. Moral of this long winded story is don’t take no for an answer when dealing with these companies.
