President Donald Trump said in a tweet Monday night that U.S. immigration agents are planning to make mass arrests starting “next week,” an apparent reference to a plan in preparation for months that aims to round up thousands of migrant parents and children in a blitz operation across major U.S. cities.

“Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States,” Trump wrote, referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “They will be removed as fast as they come in.”

Large-scale ICE enforcement operations are typically kept secret to avoid tipping off targets. In 2018, Trump and other senior officials threatened the mayor of Oakland, Calif., with criminal prosecution for alerting city residents that immigration raids were in the works.

I always thought that the better course of action for the Republicans would be to do immigration reform when Trump first took office. Round up all the bad hombres you can, get the wall going, and then announce a path to citizenship for the illegals that are already here and haven’t broken any major laws (other than being here illegally). MAKE SURE THEY CAN VOTE. And say “this is what happens when Republicans control Washington. The Democrats controlled Washington 10 years ago and they didn’t do jack s~~~ for you. We control Washington and we finally get it done for you. So, who you gonna vote for now?”

The reality is the latino population in the US keep rising and they vote predominately Democrat. And the D’s are banking on that fact. I would have turned them into Republicans for the next 50 years. The D’s would never win another election as long as we are all alive.

Oh yeah, and the best part would be seeing Democrats screaming for voter cards and E Verify.

But I remain skeptical. He’s continually played legislative chicken with the border question while private companies have been tied up in courts for construction projects on private land to deal with the problem.

I really don’t care that much up about rounding up the people that are already here. The fact of the matter is that they are embedded into our economy and removing them in significant numbers in a short period of time will have a negative impact on the economy. I get the principle, but reality is not that pleasant.

Besides, it really doesn’t matter until you stop the flow of immigrants into the country with a wall and other measures that are actually effective. It’s like celebrating that you start taking antibiotics to start fight an infection, but never close up the wound that brought on the infection to begin with. You have to stop the bleeding first.

Really, if you stop new imigrants, and give a difficult path to citizenship, the problem will go away in 10 years or so. We’ll have to adjust to the lack of dirt cheap labor, but we can do it if done over time.

The reality is that neither the established democrats or republicans want to stop illegal immigration. Democrats get voters and Republicans get money. Foolish American support the democrats since they think it makes them moral people, while Republican voters blindly trust what their leaders say…and don’t really have a better option.

I used to be on the Trump Train. At some point, you have to look at reality. Trump deems to not have any power, but I expected that when he loaded his administration with Never-Trumpers and women. I was scratching my head at that one.
