I always held money back in my company instead of taking it out as salary so I always made sure I stayed barely under the income threshold for the penalty. They were changing the percentage for tax year 2017 and not in my favor. I just simply plugged the new number into the spreadsheet that models the law versus my revenue to keep me on track. I did have to do some very stressful creative financial contortions at the end of 2016 as that f~~~ing hurricane Matthew made me blow through some damn cash.

Financially, it made zero sense to purchase as it did not protect me from medical bankruptcy. You pay the amount for a mortgage on a semi-decent home for “insurance” that is useless.

The best thing Obamacare did for me was to force me into natural medicine and taking good care of myself. That still does not stop the $500,000 to put you back together after an uninsured illegal alien crosses the centerline and hits your car problem.

I wonder how badly Obama destroyed the economy with that idiotic tax. More taxes on the young and healthy, especially young, healthy, productive men.

The power to tax is the power to destroy, and the government this time purely targeted young, healthy, hard working men. It’s patently ridiculous to aim at such a target. Taxes on income in general are absolutely absurd. Historically the only things that were taxed were goods, especially movement of goods. And only the wealthy or slaves were subject to taxes, depending on the time period.

I’ve seen more hope and business activity in the past week than I’ve seen in the 8 years prior. I never knew a President could be so awful until seeing Obama in action. It’s amazing to me that people have defended him and buried their heads in the sand all this time. This guy was just so bad.

I don’t even understand how he could be so bad unintentionally. I think maybe there is merit to him trying to intentionally destroy the US, because virtually everything he did seemed designed to do so. And it’s hard to believe with his education that he could just be so genuinely retarded as he was acting, if it was unintentional.

I have family members that have met him, and nobody likes the guy. And these are liberal family members too. He just seems untrustworthy and has an air about him that puts off decent people.

Exactly this.

Every single democrat “fix” to health care is created to “fix” the problems created by the last time they tried to “fix” health care. Obamacare’s justification was the problems created by Hillarycare. And notice how they are all health insurance regulation bills being sold as health care bills? They have nothing to do with actual care.

It’s all intended to destroy the health care system entirely to prepare the people for a full government takeover. And when government has full control of people’s health, they’ll have no choice but to vote however the government dictates.
