Everyone on here have their own battle, personality, insecurities, strength, weakness, dream…etc.

    Insecurities ….

I’m a MGTOW! I go my own way, don’t cross my path. If you do, prepare for battle.

    Like you said, insecurities …

The greatest troll threat to MGTOW.com at the moment is not tuna.

At worst, tuna is a minor irritation and easily punted. SJW’s are an occasional problem, but they generally don’t last long either.

Alphabet agency plants are not yet a serious problem, although they may become so as MGTOW grows.

The greatest threat at the moment are attention seeking crazies who join solely in order to cause trouble.

They disrupt the site, and with their idiotic ravings and childish abuse, make us look bad.

Decent men coming here looking for support and answers are put off, and that is unforgiveable.

If we allow this we are failing our fellow men.

I know you’ll all deny it but we are all on here because of our insecurities and because we seek a little attention.

Some people write well and some write like they were taught in high school, like s~~~.

Many new people are overwhelmed with the new verbiage that we regularly use here in a way not used in regular society.

Given all these variables I think we’re doing pretty well at having well reasoned and active discussions of important topics relevant to men going their own way. Be it survival, prospering, divorcing, parenting, investing, places to live and especially how to deal with today’s woman and their world.

A web site like this is complex to put together and find a group of like minded men to participate.

    I wouldn’t change a thing.

What non-MGTOWS don’t get is that you can even be a communist/liberal/fascist/libertarian/marxist/whateverist and still be a MGTOW.

Just take Tom Leykis for example. In every definition of the book, he’s a MGTOW.

    What book would that be?

In my book this Leykis character is the exact opposite of mgtow.

    He’s a PUA-cuck and unsurprisingly wants a feminist c~~~ for president.

    BINGO!

The dude came out and flat out rejected the MGTOW community after he came here soliciting listeners. That don’t make him MGTOW.

Tom Leykis is the God-Father of PUA. I remember back when he had his “Leykis 101.” By his own admission Tom says “I teach men how to get laid.” I knew young men, who listened to his show and they went out and became PUA. I stopped being friends with them because I consider PUA to be the ultimate Gynocentric losers.

All I know is there is a lot of diarrhea of the mouth and a lot of fake posturing here lately. A man doesn’t need to threaten or tell everybody what he’s gonna do if you cross his path. Scared little boys do that.

I’m not gonna feed the beast anymore, because I’m afraid the beast might break, and it’s just not fun anymore. It’s getting monotonous and boring now.

I keep saying it but the way to defeat any trolls is to ignore them. It’s as simple as that. Ignore the insults, ignore the antagonistic content and just move to threads and posts that ain’t trolling.

If the troll if offending just hit genie button.
    Let admin sort.

We will be a much tighter bunch and appear more solid and thought through.

I could learn from your post. I’m reconsidering how I approach these things. We do honestly need a way to discharge trolls though. As it stands it takes an act of congress to move them to spectator status.

I think it goes to the idea suggested that a number of long standing members have powers to demote trollers to spectator until admin step in and decide their fate.

I d t think one single person should be able to demote a member but maybe 3 so the powers are kept in check.

I think it should be the member with the most stars on here.

That’s the idea that I’ve had, I’d put the number a little higher at 5 to 6. I’m not being argumentative here. We have several people here who are trusted already and could act as real-time monitors. Zoom admins for one could have that power on the forums, plus a handful of others who aren’t Zoom admins. This has been a problem for quite some time. Honestly there aren’t currently any repercussions for causing stupidity on the forums and trolls are only threatened. That plus our tendencies to egg them on make our “male only” standard mostly a joke.

I think the basic idea of members being able to freeze trollers activity is a good one.
The details are what needs sorting – in terms of how many would we need to be able to freeze someone’s activity – the reasons why etc.

But if this was a mechanism at our disposal we would have to restrict the extent to which members with the ability to freeze activity actually engage with the troller.

We can’t be egging them on one m8nite then banding together to freeze them the next.

We would be to be stricter ourselves.

    Just some initial thoughts.

Old Sage – thanks for the endorsement. This needs several members I reckon tho.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been advocating for this for quite some time only to have my voice fall on deaf ears. Think about it, not even dead accounts get deleted. Combine that with the fact that obvious trolls can operate out in the open with complete impunity and only a remote chance of getting moved to spectator status and what do you have? A major problem at best and a website with no teeth to back up it’s criteria required to sign up. The disconnect is obvious and as porous as fishnet.

I’m on board with you doc. I side with Travis however to make it 5 or 6 members. It’ll rule out anyone with a personal ax to grind.

Ask yourself, “How many trolls are acceptable here?” 1, 2, 100? How do you know you’ve got a troll unless they post, and how are they going to post unless they’re responded to at least a couple of times? Do you see where I’m going with this? Once a troll has been exposed it’s important to do what practically every other website does that has a forum, officially freeze out people who post inappropriate material, in this case by turning them into spectators. I have enjoyed contributing to troll threads. One because I find it to be entertaining, and two because EFFECTIVLY trolls are as much a part of this website as I am. If trolls were such a problem here then we wouldn’t be talking about it right now. There would already be an effective way to get rid of them, instead they’re left to post at will for practically as long as they want to. Until I actually see otherwise demonstrated this will remain the same thing over and over again. Trolls know that they are welcome here and have a relatively legitamet status as members. It’s as obvious as the day is long.

    Yes that’s a good point.
But I am guessing that if a would be troller says something that is antagonistic ignoring them would maybe have the desired effect. That being they just stop trolling. If they persist a number of members can freeze them until KM or admin step in.

You assume that they would stop posting. Does it happen most of the time? Most likely. How many of them posting at once while the admins work it out is acceptable? 1, 2, 300? I say 0. That’s not too much to ask for. Look at what happened to MySpace. It became overrun with junks profiles that people just “ignored.” Porn, escorts, fake accounts, people selling crap. etc. etc. Completely wrecked the entire website. Gave Mr. Facebook guy little to no competition. The rest is history. Did I illustrate my point well enough?
