Numa, that Rome might be eternal, made her the Holy City. The Roman, among the peoples of antiquity, was the greatest, precisely because it was the most religious.

When Caesar one day uttered in full senate certain expressions against the existence of the gods, Cato and Cicero at once rose to their feet to accuse the irreverent youth of pronouncing words dangerous to the state.

It is told of Fabricius, a Roman captain, that when he heard the philosopher Cineas mock the Divinity in presence of Pyrrus, he uttered these memorable words, “Would to the gods our enemies may follow this doctrine when at war with the Republic!”

The fundamental problem with modern atheism is that it asserts that one can have an ethic without religion and yet at the same time declare that man has no free will (Sam Harris, Stephen Hawking etc.) which makes an appeal to ethics meaningless.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH MGTOW?

If there is no God and no free will then Feminism is justified in destroying men because they cant help themselves. They are born that way. However, MGTOW assumes by implication that men and woman have free will and removing ourselves from relationships with women is an ethical act and that feminism is unethical. Atheism undermines MGTOW’s assertion of what is right and wrong and what is unjust in human relationships. A joy that has been lost.

Atheism as practices by communists is just a quick excuse to abolish religions and seize the assets of the church. And like all those that seek power, they hide any physical evidence that goes against their believes, while claiming their is no physical evidence of things beyond the physical, as such religion is a lie and atheism is the law.

Atheism is the religion of skeptics, and it is no better than any other organized religion. With all organized religions seeking to exploit the working men for their own interests.

Atheism is not a religion it is the unbelief in a god. It does have a few cults in it but it still cannot be considered a religion. Skeptics just doubt the claims in your religious books and seek evidence. I do not accept the claims of thousand year old books where people lived over 900 years, had talking animals, and god creating the earth in 6 days 6000 years ago. This is all bulls~~~ even thou friedrich nietzsche was right when he said once the population stops being in god then people will fall into nihilism.

I prefer reading on research concerning reincarnation.

It is very fascinating stuff.

I recommend the research of Ian Stevenson and his team, and the later work by Jim Tucker and his team. We are talking thousands and thousands of case studies over the course of decades.

This is not research based on faith, but evidence that reincarnation exists.

Since I am an atheist I’ve believed that religions help unify a nation because of the following:

1. It reinforces an “us” mentality among it’s members
2. It provides roles (concerning gender and citizen behavior)
3. It discourages debauchery/encourages productivity

God or no God, people are going to try harder to live in harmony if they got a church convincing them that they are going to hell if they don’t act behave however the church says to. The key is the church needs to be in control. If people are just interpreting the holy book however they see fit, people can simply justify their current behavior and not change. It seems to me that is a problem with modern Christianity. Ex: “I am gay and my church tells me that is a sin. I’ll just interpret the bible differently. My current denomination views this as a sin, so I just go to a church of another denomination that supports my interpretation.”

When people here in America say “We need to become a Christian nation again”, I kind of want to respond with “Which version of it?”

I guess you could say that atheism is similar to feminism in a sense. The dictionary says it is one thing, but the behavior we observe from feminist leads us to a different conclusion as to what feminism is.

I also agree with your emphasis on differentiating skepticism and atheism. It has always been my understanding that ‘agnostic’ is the term to describe those who are simple skeptical and don’t place a belief in either the existence or non-existence of a god.
