When did we as a society STOP blaming the individual and start blaming guns, prescription drugs, illegals drugs, family history, other people…….?

There are people that are BAD! These people will always do bad. They will find a way. We, as a society, must stop them!

I’m an NRA member and I own several firearms. But even I have to ask what in God’s name is happening to the U.S.? Kids shooting up schools, snipers shooting up concerts, men shooting up churches. I have never, In my study of American history, seen such a persistent atmosphere of slaughter like we have experienced over the last thirty years. I’m not talking about wars or frontier fighting, I am talking about what appears to be a complete breakdown of civilization. I am trying to wrap my head around this. Opinions would be appreciated.

In a single word: Decadence.

This is what’s happened to our society.

It is the result of several generations becoming increasingly directionless, and embracing hedonism and materialism. This society has abandoned morality and has celebrated the worst kinds of moral sludge. This society celebrates abortion and kills millions of babies (and no one ever stops to imagine what this does to the collective psyche of women). The public school system teaches subservience to the government, disrespect towards parents and tradition, and equips young men and women with NOTHING to enter into life, prolonging childhood and immaturity. That is, if you’re one of the kids lucky enough to not have been drugged out the whole time, either through prescription meds or illegal drugs.

Then, as an adult, you’re taught to worship the government, to never question authority, and to believe everything you’re told in the media and government talking heads. You’re taught to glorify war and death on people “over there.” You’re taught that you must think in terms of “we” when referring to society and government and laws… e.g. “we have to pass more laws!” or “we have to stop the terrorists!”

Society is also completely saturated in narcissism. People have come to crave the instant dopamine rush of social media through Fakebook, T~~~ter, and Instacrap even more than their $7 Starbucks “coffee.” And study after study shows how destructive it is to our relationships, our sense of self-satisfaction, and our ability to achieve delayed gratification. Essentially, we are little more than infants, screaming the minute our needs aren’t met, and blaming others for our unhappiness.

Our society is trapped in a wretched economic system as well. We are unable to even comprehend or imagine anything other than the status quo of the fiat dollar, and yet jobs are getting worse, with longer hours, less pay, and more meaningless drudgery. We can’t afford our homes, cars, or entertainment, so we go into debt to pay for it (which is exactly what we are supposed to do in a debt-based economic system). We stress ourselves to death working in such a system, because there is no possible way to succeed. Most Americans couldn’t even dream of retiring without government assistance, because nobody makes enough money anymore. Your home options are renting, or getting a mortgage. It’s getting harder and harder to purchase even a decent used car at reasonable prices.

And yet, despite all this, we continue to pursue entertainment at all costs. Even the poorest Americans own a TV. That should tell you something.

In short, this is a self-indulgent, lazy, narcissistic society with no aspirations beyond tomorrow and no ability to even work towards fixing these problems, assuming society even has the intelligence now to recognize how sick it is. It is a decadent society, offering its youth nothing but contradictory messages of immorality, subservience, emasculation, false patriotism, and dishonor. There is not a shred of moral bedrock to be found anywhere.

Is it any wonder that this s~~~ happens in our society?

And that’s not even touching on all the problems that women have caused through feminism, no-fault divorce, alimony, the duluth model for domestic violence, family courts, child support laws, etc etc etc.

I’m probably sounding like an old recording but there isn’t much violence associated with Rifles. About 400 -500 murders a year in the US by use of a rifle. As tragic as any murder is, with a population of 350 million, statistically it’s not even a blimp on the screen. As many people die riding a bike.

Hand guns kill a lot of people. Lets say 30,000 a year. About a third of these are suicides, and I will assume they’d find another method if a gun wasn’t available.

Of the remaining murders by use of a hand gun, if you remove about the top 10 urban centers in the US………..the rate drops down to something very small.

Gun violence is a problem in the inter cities of the US. These are places with broken, fatherless homes, poor schools and significant drug activity.

If we’re going to fix the problem, lets address the problem that needs fixing. Reaching for a feel-good solution that doesn’t address the real problem isn’t going to save one life.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

Excellent point. The vast majority of murders and gun violence takes place in poor, urban, minority neighborhoods. If you’re a black family in Detroit, for instance, you are far more likely to know someone who’s been shot. And what is their society like? Poor, often lazy, inclination towards violence to resolve problems, disrespect towards morality, and a hedonistic lifestyle without any ambitions for something better. It’s not racist, it’s just the way it is.

Where I live, it’s a very rural community based around agriculture and outdoors living. People here work hard and get along (for the most part). And we don’t have anywhere near the gun violence of an urban inner city.

Two comments for those who don’t live in the rural countryside:

1. If someone is breaking into your house at night, you don’t call the cops to come save you…they are too far away (time & distance)…you call the cops to file the report, and perhaps pursue the burglar, if you allowed the burglar to live. You have to save yourself.

2. As students in school, we had guns in our trucks AT SCHOOL (and so did several teachers) because we hunted just before and sometimes just after school. Somehow, those evil guns did not spontaneously shoot up the place on their own accord, and no students employed them against other students.

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

Nice one, Pete. While we’re on the topic, aren’t school shootings illegal? How’s that working out for you liberals? What about the “no gun zone” signs? Putting a “no gun zone” sign in a location is basically painting a target on the site, advertising that you will meet with no resistance if you choose to commit violence there.

Best way to stop a shooter is with another shooter. The tried and true methods are the best.

Therein lies the truth. All the so-called anti-gunners aren’t really anti-gun. To test this, simply ask them if they think the police should be disarmed, too.

If they say, “Of course not!” then your reply is, “Okay, so you’re not really against guns, just against guns in the hands of people that you don’t approve of. And yet you approve of the police having guns, even though they kill more innocent people by accident than school shooters, each year.”

If these people truly thought that outlawing guns will make things safer, than perhaps they can start by asking the police to give up their weapons first.

But they’ll never do that.

Part of the problem is that we’ve been indoctrinated in Police-worship for decades now, to the extent that people revere cops and would never think to question why so many individuals predisposed to violence pursue careers in law enforcement.

What can men do?

First, give up on the idea that the police can or will protect you. They won’t. They’ll just come collect evidence afterwards.

Second, adapt a mentality that you will defend yourself, if necessary.

Third, start practicing your skills as a mediator. Learn the art of playing the nice, reasonable guy so that you can emerge from tense situations without violence. Ditch the attitude of, “Anyone who disses me, I’ll f~~~ him up!”

Fourth, start increasing your Situational Awareness, especially when you are out in public. If you don’t know what that is, look it up and read. 🙂

That’s my logic too. If they want to take away guns, then the police should not have them either since there is no use for them.

I bet you, that that would not go over very well. But whatever.

I can tell you this. The second hey get rid of guns, is the second revolution starts.

And it won’t matter if people don’t have guns. Toxic gases, fire, gasoline, acid, and homemade explosives do much more damage, and take out more targets then a bullet ever could.

I’m not worried about guns being taken away. Fact is, everyone breathes air, and all HVAC systems are open and ready to kill people remotely.

The fact is, the state has f~~~ed with the wrong people, made the wrong choices. And some men are already doing this.

When you think about it, a gun is a useless weapon when you have so many more options out there.

When you think about today how they have ROV’s, that you can buy for less then $20 bucks, Or build in the 100’s in your own basement. Or sell them or give them away close to targets that you want to strike.

These people have no idea what is really coming or is possible.
