You should check out some of the YT videos on the subject. There was a test known as ‘Swimming The Witch’. The accused would have one hand tied to the opposite foot and then be thrown into the water. If they floated, they were considered to be a witch. If they sank, they were considered innocent.

It kinda gives you an idea of why we are where we are today with our current legal system anyway…

    The definitive word on witches…

The sad part is that the actual witch trials were no less ridiculous than that Python movie clip. I guess it was really nasty in Europe. I read that it is estimated that 40,000 ‘witches’ were executed in Europe over a span of 100 or so years.

Many were burned alive as that was deemed to be the most painful way to go. It’s hardly any surprise that most contemporary Christians tend to ignore the whole subject like it never really happened… 🙁

I honestly think that the witch trials were not really too much to do with Christianity (and I have made it clear I am not a Christian, so I am not trying to get Christians off the hook here from any bias towards them and I have also made it clear that I have no liking for witches either). The trials were a product of a time when conformity was important and resources were strained. Those who did not fit in and were seen to be a drain or a nuisance to society were removed by the convenient device of finding them to be against the core tenets of the society of the day -the profession and practise of Christianity. Consider that the offences of scolding and barratry were punished in those times and that Oliver Cromwell cancelled Christmas, music and dancing. They were austere puritan times as a rule and one thing that is fairly common to all pent up people is that when they get a sanctioned outlet for their rage, it comes down hard.

Such times will come again. They have been here only recently -Isis, The Russian gulags, Pol pot…

I’d say the lunatic left are the witch hunters of today. Always looking for something to get offended about, always looking to lay blame on someone or something, always looking to ban something or get rid of anything they believe is bad or wrong.

Today’s witches begin with President Trump and anyone who voted for Trump and anyone who likes Trump and anyone who disagrees with the ideals of the left. Other witches are mostly any semiautomatic firearm and any firearm that holds more than one round at a time……basically most all firearms. I’d say Christians are also witches these days along with any white heterosexual male, anyone who is against abortion, anyone who is against illegal immigration, anyone or anything the left does not like.

You’re either for the left and their agendas, or you’re a witch and they’d most definitely like to see you burn.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.

You didn’t check out the video linked to in the op. The Puritans associated witchcraft as being the ‘Devil’s work’! The mandate in Exodus 22:18 makes the connection with Christianity pretty clear I would think.

And in this ^^^ article they talk about the Protestants treating ‘witch burning’ as being some sort of contest. They seemed intent on outdoing the Catholics when it came to executing witches. It would be quite a stretch to claim that trying and killing witches had little to do with Christianity…

I’m not an expert on witches.
I do remember few years ago a group of nurses at my hospital formed a witch’s coven and began to hold meetings. The state eventually got involved when the nurse witches tried to recruit patients.

While I generally avoid women, if I encountered a witch I would really avoid her and wouldn’t be in the same room.

Is it just me, or are women getting crazier by the day?
It might be a business opportunity selling wigan supplies to crazy women.

Interestingly the wiccan coven’s I’ve known of consisted of one male leader and numerous female accalites. Wicca is a chick thing used to enhance chick power over those that are non-chick…men.

I once had a wiccan put a love spell on me and put all kinds of potion ingredients under my bed. Then she turned 36, hit the wall and I dumped her.

    Inspired by Wiccan spirituality.

Would this be in Western society? I didn’t think any Western government would take this seriously…

Everyone knows the best way to deal with witches is to tornado-drop a farm house onto them.

Fun fact: a Wicca term for being naked is “sky-clad”.

Yes Hermit I fully agree with you its the same “witch hunting instinct” that the left use today to attack those on the right or men in any position of authority. They are so controlled in minute ways but what they can say, wear, think, desire and eat that when they finally get a legitimate target, they just love to run wild and attack it.

Also another part of the left’s witch hunting is that they genuinely lack self control. They have abrogated responsibility for self control and decision making as to appropriate and fair action to “wokeness” and its cannon of values (just like Jihadist Muslims have abrogated self control to the control of the Quran and fundamentalist Christians or communists abrogate self control to the principles they get from their texts. Fundamentalists lack the ability to be restrained by inner values and so when they are released onto a legitimate target they are just a pack of hunting dogs.

It’s all part of ‘diversity’, so here in the UK they take it very seriously indeed. You can even list it on the Census.

That’s the appeal of it – ‘vagina super-power’.

I had a step-daughter who was into paganism. It was her excuse to be a whore, as ‘in ancient times, society was matriarchal and female leaders of the tribe had multiple husbands’.

Yep – the modern day witch ‘trend’ is largely practised by confused young females and feminists a twisted trend promoted for years by Hollywood and TV programes etc – yet some ‘actual’ (for want of a better word) ‘wiccans’ exist today. The wider issue imho is the subversion of all original teachings of spiritual traditions / religions by the globalist promoted nonsense of modern day man bashing feminism. Also all institutions, religions, organisations large or small have good (well intentioned) apples and bad apples – its human nature.

Defining ‘Paganism’ is problematic as the word encompasses a wide array of pre-Christian practices that were practiced by pre-Christian societies in Europe – for example by Greco-Roman, Celtic, Germanic, Slavic tribes and was sometimes monotheist worship of a supreme deity – and sometimes polytheist. So if you or I had lived during that time by todays words we would have been ‘pagans’ regardless of whether or not we believed in God (and I do believe in God) .. as such (leaving religious discussion aside) the structured practices of societies in Europe 4000-1500 years ago with a balanced male-female dynamic cannot imho be equated with the confused gynopower man bashing based witch nonsense of todays feminists.

    [Extract from Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paganism
Defining paganism is problematic. Early Christians referred to the diverse array around them as a single group for reasons of convenience and rhetoric. Not all pagans were strictly polytheist. Throughout history, many of them believed in a supreme deity. To Christians, the most important distinction was whether or not someone worshipped the one true God. Those who did not (polytheist, monotheist, or atheist) were outsiders to the Church and thus pagan.
(Later) Paganism came to be equated by Christians with a sense of hedonism, representing those who are sensual, materialistic, self-indulgent, unconcerned with the future, and uninterested in more mainstream religions
