I’ve never read PUA material in my life. For obvious reasons:
1. I don’t view women as worth my time today
2. Even when I did, when I was younger, the idea of reading from a script seemed both supplicating and ridiculous.But, to the point of this post.
I was reading on a different Manosphere space tonight, and someone linked to a Roosh V article. I clicked. I ran through the sidebar of articles he had written and clicked on a couple that sounded interesting.
What I read, quoted below, doesn’t sound as though it was written by a PUA at all to me. It sounds more in tune with what I would read here.
Did this guy evolve/change over time?
As I said, I’ve never read any of his material or that of any other PUA so I really don’t know.

This is complete and utter decimation of the female human. TBH, the quote below, sounds like it was written by our member Matrix; which is why I’m shocked at some of this guys writings (as a PUA) having read them for my first time:

I know what my female readers are thinking: “Well guys have smartphones, too! They are incapable of love just like me!”
And you would be incorrect. For men, the smartphone is a tool to gain a sexual option. Asking a woman on a date or trying to win her favor via text messaging or Facebook makes her a mere prospect. A potential prospect who might be sexually interested in you, who might say yes, is not the same as having guys at the ready immediately come over if you just say the words. The psychological effect of being offered guaranteed dick is not the same as being able to offer some dick. One is passive while the other is a numbers game that takes fifty times more energy for absolutely no set reward.

This is the kind of explanation I was hoping for/anticipated.
^ That statement is not a criticism of your explanation. I literally have zero experience w/who he is/what his ideology is other than knowing he’s a PUA.
The only thing I’ve ever read of him are a few articles, some of which I quoted above, and he comes across more MGTOW than PUA. So, I naturally assumed he must have evolved over time to blend in w/the ever changing Manosphere.

I’m assuming so, because what I posted is all at least 4+ years old.
Again, I’m not familiar w/this guy at all. Just looking for honest feed back, as I was surprised at what I read by him. What I did read, was him stating that:

That was EXACTLY my reaction, which is why I was shocked how much I enjoyed reading what he wrote; after hearing so many terrible things about him.
But, again, I don’t know his background. According to others, he’s changed his tone many times over the years.
I haven’t read any of his other material to know, but I believe what others have said about him. Otherwise he would be MGTOW and not selling PUA BS.
But THAT’S what’s shocking to me – that he said all of that s~~~ about women, yet somehow deludes himself in PUA-istry.

I’m not an expert, but this was my understanding too. He’s out to sell books, and his greatest PR stunt a couple of years ago was to whip up a media frenzy when he said (in what he later claimed to be a satirical article) to make rape legal on private property. It whipped up a huge storm in the MSM with petitions, feminist protests etc. etc. I’ll give it to him, he knew how to get PR to generate book sales (I believe he had another book coming out shortly afterwards).

First, it’s less coherent as a movement than MGTOW and there some things being said in the PUA community which are more red pill (like the quotes you cite). Second, I think because it’s much more commercial than MGTOW, it is more widely known (partially because of the media s~~~storm I mentioned), and anything which gets men thinking about these things, Googling red pill terms etc. is a good thing.
From my own perspective, I discovered the PUA community before I discovered MGTOW, and some of the more red-pill stuff I found there was a massive eye opener to me. And it was from there that I quite quickly found out about MGTOW. So I think the PUA community could be a good recruiting ground for future MGTOWs: once someone accepts the basic PUA principles, I think it’s potentially a short journey for them to MGTOW.
That said, there are also a lot of PUAs who are dyed in the wool Chads, so I’m not going to get too excited. But you never know.

Gave you a +1 for this one. I had arrived to the same conclusion. The USA is indeed a decadent country. And most people lack the discipline and introspection to understand their own hedonistic nature. These people can literally have the entire world and they still will not be happy or content…
And this is the flaw of a common adage that is pushed in our society – the idea of uncompromisingly “going after what you want”. Everyone is taught to do this, but this way of thinking only leads to frustration and emptiness. With every desire that is fulfilled, a greater one will arise, each one becoming harder to attain, until it becomes impossible to obtain.
Combine this with the need for instant gratification (which we can thank Facebook and technology in general for addiction to our own neurotransmitters), and you have a recipe for depression and suicide. People will end up killing themselves because they can’t feel that high every single moment of their life. It is the brain’s addiction to neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine which cause that feeling of emptiness. And the need for instant gratification makes that emptiness stand out even more.
The answer is to quit feeding the need for instant gratification. Unfortunately, most people won’t have the insight or the open-mindedness to understand this. Until people cut their needs for instant gratification and understand their own greed, they are doomed to a life of hell.

This is counter intuitive to me. My notion of a ‘Chad’ was that he didn’t need any schooling, whatsoever; it was rather a natural state of being for him.
But, then again, I don’t buy into the notion of these – alpha, beta, chad, categories as prototypes of men. I think those notions are more for social conformists. People who have to ‘fit’ into a category prescribed by society; which don’t apply to people like me or other people of the MGTOW mind-set, who are independent thinkers.

What was this transition (of thought/perspective) like for you?
We’re all different, and take different roads, yet sometimes they lead to the same path. But for me, it was quite the opposite:
The idea that there was a ‘game’ to be played, told me all I needed to know.
In my mind, ‘games’ are for women and children.
^ Not putting you, or anyone else, down for the game mind set. But, that’s just how I saw it. And when I saw that a ‘game’ had to be played, it was time to check out and do my own thing.

Roosh V has seen some truths. Women are overvalued today, sex is undervalued. His conclusion “don’t buy the overvalued cow when the milk is so cheap” is sound.
However that does not mean to say “drink as much milk as possible even if it costs all you have to spare and you use up your life seeking milk” is an intelligent follow on deduction from this conclusion.
All Roosh has become is another Chad dancing his attendance on the c~~~ carousel, another man living to please women in a gynocentric universe. One would say a whore has wasted her life living to please men but at least she got paid. Roosh pays out in his clothes, in the time spent courting women, in the cost of entertaining them. Roosh is another man performing for women.
I would also take issue with the idea that women are still fully priced. They are not. You can get a woman pretty easily. You don’t have to provide everything these days. Having a job and a house and saying you can move in is easily enough for most girls. Some will even chip in with the occasional bill. You do not need to prove your worth to the girls parents or promise to dedicate your life to her. She is still, however, seriously overvalued today as she may well be incapable of bonding being a strong independent cum bucket. And in divorce she suddenly goes up to full price.

My idea is that being PUA is good if you’re under 25.
It’s very bad if you’re over 30.
It depends between 25 and 30, but most times in such age range is already stupid.Example: you’re still at university, using your parents’ money.
