Why is it acceptable in this society to sacrifice your own happiness for somebody else’s? Why would’t you use your resources, time and money, to make yourself happy as a priority in life?

I did too. I actually gave my brother a paid for house that could have been (was) mine b/c he is a giant f~~~-up. I work and pay my bills and therefore a place to live is not a problem for me. For him, living on the street and pooping in a bucket was a very real possibility.

My thanks was more resentment and hate.
This is a common theme for me. The more I helped (being a white knight c~~~) the more I was hated.

It’s good to have well defined borders that you defend at all cost, it’s all about self preservation in a world gone mad and rather you not claim your sovereignty in life as a man and answerable to no other!

Notice how this always comes up when they want YOU to sacrifice. But when you flip it around, they run away so fast you will never catch them.

I’m all for helping others out, but I want to see it from them first at this point. I will not raise one finger until I see someone else raise one first. I have done enough in my youth, it’s time to get paid back.
