Well said, Spice. It is like women are sleeper cell agents, Manchurian candidates, just waiting to be triggered. What triggers them? Well, marriage seems to do the trick.

You are describing the analogy of the welfare state,

Agreed, but I am also talking of more subjective things, like efficiency.

You might have 2 workers, but one is efficient and the other is doing little to none. There are workers that actually do negative work! That is when they delay everybody for not doing their part, or mess everything for doing it it wrong.

In my small village there is a street cleaning crew of an old man and a middle-aged women. I always see the man pushing the cart, while the “lady” holds the broom. I actually have seen her using the broom one or twice!
But I can assure you that there is no difference of salary, even if there IS A DIFFERENCE, in work actually done.

This reminds me of Atlas Shrugged, that in turn was only a reflex of a socialist society. Efficiency goes down the drain because people realize what you said:

The smart ones are the guys realizing that pulling the cart is a scam. It’s better to not pull at all.

Many women are excellent crafters of their image. They are very meticulous and deliberate. They will learn what YOU like and mold their image to fit it for as long as they require your attention or resources.

I can’t count how many times I’ve been told “I like nerds” or “I love smart guys” by women that ultimately have no interest in me in the end. They know I’m smart and can help them with their work, computers, cars, etc.

I don’t fall for it anymore, but when I was on the plantation… such a sucker for it.

Understanding who people are trying to project themselves to be is core to understanding their motives and avoiding the traps they’re trying to set.

Just the other day, my son (13 years old) was telling me that a girl he likes and has texted with a bit told him that she likes to play video games. She said a few buzzwords that made it convincing. He was clearly more interested now. So this was my opportunity to explain the chameleon concept to him. I didn’t want to burst his bubble, just didn’t want him to be surprised if this girl really wasn’t all that into games once the mask was off.

This doesn’t JUST apply to romantic relationships, does it? Case in point – I have a sister in law who is suddenly into video games and a “geek” hobby that I had at one time. These are hobbies/interests that I shared with my brother when I was younger. Why would she pretend to like what I like (or used to like)? She asked me at a gathering last year to babysit her dogs. I said no. I think what she’s trying to do is get me into her circle so she can use me to do free stuff for her (babysit and the like). Just a theory.

Correct. This isn’t exclusive to romantic relationships at all. Women manipulate men in many ways for different reasons. Carefully examine the women in your life and see how they modify their behavior to get what they want from you in your family, at work, in friendships, and in relations~~~s.

"I've been thinking about what it would be like if we got back together."
"You know it's too late for that."
