Here is a true story:
J was born in 1987. He was a good Catholic and a first generation Hispanic American. He never masturbated or had any wet dreams. He had no sexual relations at all even though he was attractive to girls.
In his senior year in High School. J started Internal Martial Arts training with me and also learned some two person practice with Kung Fu. Everything was easy for him.
J enlisted with the US Army right after he graduated HS. He was skinny with an average build.
During Basic Training, he enjoyed every challenge that Boot Camp gave him. His Drill Sergeants would often use him as a punching bag and training example because J kept getting up and was never hurt. J was always “on the bounce.” Everyone was impressed with his ability to take their hardest punches and endure their most vigorous challenges. He was popular and his fellow trainees liked him.
Alas, his buddies found out that he was a virgin towards the end of his training and they all chipped in to pay for a hooker in town so that he would no longer be a virgin. These guys loved J as their brother and believed that they were helping him. The peer pressure and narrative of “a man will not fight, if he won’t f~~~” also convinced him. Besides, Catholics have the confessional and the “sin” of f~~~ing a prostitute will be forgiven, especially for a lonely soldier.
When J returned to his normal Army routine, he was in trouble. He barley completed his runs and had trouble focusing on his training. He required more sleep to recover. During normal sparring, he was knocked down easily. Every punch felt like fire and he struggled to get up off the mat. His training was no longer fun but extremely painful.
Nevertheless, J completed his Basic Training and served his country.
My story starts out different, but I ended up learning the same lesson:
I was a bad Catholic. I thought celibacy was antiquated and only reserved for priests. After all, I never got “hair to grow on my palms” no matter how much I rubbed one out. Going to confession got me off the hook too much. I thought porn was a modern wonder and masturbation was normal.
Nevertheless, when I was jerking off to porn, I was a “Soppy Wanker” and could not take a punch. It made me a “mangina” and also depressed. My relationships with other men were strained. Women used me as their tampon. I was a “doormat” as a direct result of masturbating to porn.
I blamed my “pussification” on my environment, like living in a polluted city in America and eating bad food.
The culture, like the media, was constantly telling me that my genetics, pink skin and red hair, made me a “pussy” or a “f~~.” This narrative became internalized.
Contact Sports and the normal fighting training like Boxing, Wrestling, Karate, and Kung Fu never worked out as long as I was masturbating.
Thankfully, I started training in Internal Martial Arts. It was very popular and known as “Iron Shirt” in Asia before “Smith and Wesson.”
CELIBACY is the most important part of Internal Martial Arts training. Sexual relations are prohibited. One of the best ways to detect a fraud or failure who teaches this, is whether he can take a punch or not. This form of celibacy made me powerful and able to get a lot of good things in my life. The reasons why and how are explained simply and nicely in Stephen Chang’s short book, “The Tao of Sexology.”
When I became celibate, my testosterone levels increased and in nine months, I was combat ready with a ferocity and tenacity I could not imagine before. I was able to spar with Boxers, Wrestlers, and Martial Artists. Contact sports became fun. I was able to do hard physical labor in the construction industry.
My sense of humor increased. My relationships with other men were fun and I became popular.
My increased fighting spirit also helped me to better resist the influences of charismatic leaders, bullies, and women.
Celibate Internal Martial Artists have strong ego boundaries and also have a spiritual strength which makes them invulnerable to dark influences, like demons, and the strong emotions of others.
One of my teachers was a great healer. He often scared the s~~~ out of everyone with his high energy, focus, and masculinity which is something that would be more appreciated two hundred years ago when men were men. I witnessed him heal a “Demon Possession” for a client during a workshop with over fifty people present. He calls his method “Emotional Liposuction.”
After about a year of success with Internal Martial Arts, my celibacy ended when I dated an attractive young athletic woman and eventually ejaculated. At first, I did not notice any change except feeling tired and having a need for more sleep.
When I went back to spar with my “brothers” there was a big difference. Every punch felt like fire, I lost my speed and power. One of my buddies broke my rib with a normal punch to my body. I had to stop full contact sparring for months.
Years later, I made the same mistakes of ending my celibacy with a relations~~~ and ejaculating for a woman. Each time was rewarded with injuries during my construction work and s~~~ tests from the women.
What happens when a man finally comprehends the cold and calculating thoughts that are going through a woman's mind, while her eyes are brimming with tears?
Interesting story. I’ve done a little experimentation with celibacy (nofap), but I can’t say it helped me much. I experienced a slight energy boost (accompanied a lesser need for sleep) and felt a very small improvement as I practiced my strength. That said, the longest I went without masturbation was 2-3 weeks. I can’t remember the exact duration. I was introduced to the idea of sexual transmutation via a Taoist author.
From my experience, I only noticed a decreased in energy and performance when I masturbated too much. For me, once every two or three days is typically adequate. If I bust a nut daily, then I can tell. If I do more than one daily, I start to feel really lethargic.
Celibacy in my opinion is drastic. I am not judging anyone.
However, ejaculating does cause all sorts of neuro chemical changes in your brain that could cause actual physical effects.
I’m talking about dopamine, serotonin, vasopressin etc.
For me, I’m tired the next day and I’m not as driven.
If it works for you great.

Great post! Right now I’m on day 17 of NoFap and no PMO, and so far so good. I haven’t noticed any dramatic changes yet though most guys who write about NoFap on Youtube say it takes about 30 to 45 days to start seeing noticeable results. I will start practicing my Lin Kong Jing (Empty Force) Qigong again (as taught by Sifu Richard Mooney). Don’t know how far I’m gonna make it but I intend to see how far I can go with this. BTW I’m almost 57 years old.

Cool. Let us know how it goes. As I stated in my reply, I only went 2 or 3 weeks. If you notice an improvement after a longer period of time, I’ll have to do it again.
You got it! One thing that has helped me a lot with going this long is simply not looking at porn. In the past I tried doing NoFap quite a few times, with the longest period lasting about 14 days, however I was still watching porn. I decided to give up porn completely and have another go at it after reading about what a lot of guys were saying on Youtube. They said that to succeed in NoFap you HAD to give up porn. They were right.

Anonymous3Great post & great story. Thank you! You have identified & revealed what I have proven in my own life to be true.
Porn & masturbation can suck the life force out of a man. Meditation & celibacy can bring it back.
Watching porn is still being trapped by women. Masturbating to such fantasies pollutes the mind & spirit.
I do not say this in a judgmental way. Do the porn thing & masturbate if that’s where your at. No harm. No foul.
Here is a brief summary of the benefits in my life of celibacy.
I walked over 6 miles the other day & average about 3 miles on any given day. My confidence is through the roof & women who are young enough to b my granddaughters are attracted to my poise & strength of character. I do not play on that, I believe in subtle disregard. I was up at 4:00am this morning its now a little after 6:00.
I aspire to the peace of a monk, but am not quite there yet, although it is tranquil & peaceful here. I try( am working to ) bring the peace I do have with me where ever I go.
I need to stop.
Thank you again. You have validated once again my very existence.
MGTOW is the future & the future is NOWSince trying no fap I have more energy, better concentration and require less sleep yet still feel more rested. I can get 6 hours and be fine when 8 used to not be enough. A lot of athletes and fighters will abstain from releasing themselves because it drains you of your energy.
In just 1-2 weeks of no fap your testosterone will increase as much as 45%. While I love porn I can’t act like thousands of hours haven’t been wasted on it, and I really wanna try going a year without beating off just to see what I accomplish.
I try to not look at porn and release etc, but i dont last very long…literally.. 😛
WHAT?? you all got to go out on leave during basic in the Army! Did not happen in the Navy. Until after graduation we were stuck there.

Porn & masturbation can suck the life force out of a man.
Yes.
Pornography is spiritually degrading. To ejaculate is to expend Life Force.
Anonymous3Monk thank you & yes absolutely.
That is not a judgment, that is a fact.
I do not/cannot expect young men to go monk. The drive is too primordial, but Porn is truly a vast spiritual wasteland.I concur. I definitely have more energy and stability when I’m doing a long nofap streak.
I don’t get anxious or neurotic. I’m confident. It seems like how it should be to be a man.
I want to try to get back on the wagon. I am pretty sure I use PMO as an emotional crutch.
I think the western man has been made weak through excessive hedonism and sexual indulgence.
Anonymous3Golgotha: Yes western man has. Too much of everything ruins a lot of people
Anonymous0Wow, that seems definitely like something to try. Or do, as Yoda said “Do or do not, but there is no try”.
Anyway, I wanted to post a question what can I do to improve my concentration levels since I feel really exhausted out of nearly nothing, but I think I have found my answer in this thread. Even random streaks on these forums can bring something positive…
Cheers!
I found this very fascinating…
This reminds me of the story of Judge Solomon. The guy was supposedly the strongest man in the world in his age. Gifted by strength from God, his strength was unparalleled so long as his hair was not cut. But his strength came to a fault the moment he let his guard down to a woman that told him she loved him. She tricked Solomon into an ambush. Where his enemies severed his hair, and tortured and humiliated him mercilessly.
Solomon reconciled upon his actions and begged the Lord for his strength to return; and with his wish granted he felled his enemies and took them to the grave with him.
Pretty symbolic don’t you think?
Working on my dreams, one day at a time..,
On 20th century mystic George Ivanovich Gurdjieff and his perspective on celibacy vs. promiscuity:
“His teaching about the transformation of the sexual energy is very personal and he was emphatic that there are no general rules that can be given. In some cases he regarded abstinence as desirable, in others encouraged strong sexual activity; in some cases self-control, in others the devotion of one man and one woman to the creation of one single soul between them. In some cases, he demanded at least for a time a completely promiscuous sexual life in order to rid a man with obsession with sex . . . Gurdjieff did not wish to give any rules that people would take to be universally valid and that could lead not only to misunderstanding but even to disaster. (6) ”
On sex itself:
“Sex plays a tremendous role in maintaining the mechanicalness of life. Everything that people do is connected with ‘sex’: politics, religion, art, the theater, music, is all ‘sex.’ . . . What do you think brings people to cafés, to restaurants, to various fetes? One thing only. Sex: it is the principal motive force for all mechanicalness . . . Sex which exists by itself and is not dependent on anything else is already a great achievement. But the evil lies in the constant self-deception. (5). ”
My old trainor(coach) still says I should release once a week, but I think thats too easy. Plus it makes Mondays training that much more sluggish. I wanna see what its like at the 30 days mark.
If you want to become a god amongst men, then learn to use that thirty day load for your betterment, rather than wasting it.
And letting those fluids/ energy just sit there is a Big Mistake.
It really is possible, with the right training, to become more like those Dragon Ball Z heroes you enjoy.
After a month of abstinence, the sexual energy and fluids accumulated within the body can be utilized internally with specific exercises to supercharge the nervous system throughout the entire body which creates amazing results.
The book, “The Great Tao,” by Stephen T. Chang is the “bible” for people that have real skills with Internal Martial Arts:

Internal Martial Arts forces those fluids and energy (electrical) throughout every part of your body.
You should be doing the “Deer Exercise” so much that it becomes an unconscious part of your breathing.
Ang Lee made a movie called “Pushing Hands” that did a nice job of showing someone who uses Internal Martial Arts:

The following link is a website of an American Teacher, James McNeil from California, who has done a fine job of creating video courses on the Internal Martial Arts. His videos on sexual practices are excellent:

What happens when a man finally comprehends the cold and calculating thoughts that are going through a woman's mind, while her eyes are brimming with tears?
I. THE SEVEN GLANDS:
THE IMMUNE SYSTEMThe ancient Taoists understood that the human body could not exist unless there was a continuous supply of energy coming into the tissues and organs. They realized that health was maintained when the energy within the body was balanced and that disease occurred when there was energy depletion or weakness.
Energy is a dynamic force, in constant flux, which circulates throughout the body. Many people plausibly substitute the word life for the word energy since the essential difference between the two words is so subtle that it eludes all but the semanticist. Each term is vital to developing an accurate understanding of the energy theory as it applies to the body.
For all practical purposes, it can be stated that life is an indication of energy within the body. All that comes to mind on hearing the word life—breathing, talking, sleeping, eating, even the ability to read, think, and hear—all these can be achieved only because of the energy within the body. This invariably applies to those functions or activities that are not conspicuously perceptible; for example, the metabolic processes within each single cell could not be accomplished without energy to sustain those functions. Energy is the basis for the apparent solid structures of the body and all that pertains to its anatomy as well. For what is a solid structure such as bones, except a mass of living cells? All forms and activities of life, both anatomical and physiological, are supported by, and simultaneously deplete, the energy within the body.
We receive much of the energy we need from the food we eat and the air we breathe. However, the body, much like an expensive automobile, must be finely tuned if it is to run properly and utilize this energy to the maximum.
Throughout the centuries, Taoists understood that the body’s Seven Glands were the energy centers responsible for regulating the flow of energy within the various systems of the body. These Seven Glands, in descending order within the body, are as follows:
1. The pineal gland, which directly affects the other glands through its secretions and allows one to communicate on the spiritual level. Intuition and conscience are also associated with this gland, which is also called the House of Spirit.
2. The pituitary gland, which governs memory, wisdom, intelligence and thought, is also called the House of Intelligence.
3. The thyroid gland, which maintains the metabolism of the cells in the body, governs growth. It is also associated with the respiratory system. It is called the House of Growth.
4. The thymus gland, which governs the the heart and circulatory system, is also called the House of Heart.
5. The pancreas gland, which helps maintain control over digestion, blood sugar levels, and body temperature, is also called House of Transcendence.
6. The adrenal glands, which support the functions of the kidneys, bones, bone marrow, and spine, may also be called the House of Water.
7. The sexual glands—the prostate and testes in the male and the ovaries, uterus, vagina, and breasts in the female—are responsible for hormone secretions, sexual energy and response, and reproduction. It is also called the House of Essence.
Figure 1. Equilibrium Among Vessels:
V—-V—-V—-V—-V—-V—-V
Each Vessel (gland) is dependent upon all the others for its supply of liquid (energy). If Vessel A (the sexual glands) is supplied with liquid, this fluid will slowly disperse through the tubes (blood vessels) to the remaining six vessels. Similarly, if Vessel C (the pancreas) were to be drained excessively of its fluid through a leakage of some kind, each of the other vessels would give up a portion of its supply to reestablish an equilibrium within the system.
This is similar to the way energy flows within our bodies. A state of weakness or susceptibility to disease arises when one system, or in this case one gland, is deprived of energy for some reason. Our task becomes then one of not only reestablishing the balanced flow of energy to overcome this weakness, but of also stimulating the flow of energy so that we raise the level of energy within our body to its maximum.
Balancing and raising the energy to its proper level through the Seven Glands system is the Taoist way of strengthening the immune system. Through increasing the energy to strengthen the immune system, we can then reverse our existing weakness and heal ourselves, as well as utilize the higher order of energy to open up our spiritual centers and prevent aging.
Dr. Alexis Carrel, a Nobel prize winner, stated that the glands system was a “wheel of life.” If the wheel of life turns smoothly, problems will not arise or interfere with the cellular processes, which are perpetual. Dr. Carrel, from his extensive experimentations, found that every cell was originally immortal. Human beings are therefore originally immortal. If human beings die it is only because their cellular processes are hindered by poisonings, illnesses, etc. A properly functioning glands system is the key to perpetually functioning cells and immortality.
We need to understand that the Seven Glands support each other in ascending order. If the first six glands are not filled to their capacity, then the seventh gland or House of Spirit will not be filled either. We may quickly realize that if one were to surgically remove one of the glandular systems, a permanent depletion or lack of equilibrium would be created inside the body.
The sexual glands form the base of the glandular complex. This is why, within the Taoist system of healing, all available routes are explored before surgery (hysterectomy or prostatectomy) is performed, especially if it involves the sexual glands, as these comprise the basic foundation which supports all the other glands.
Whether a gland is or is not removed, it is very important to practice the Internal Exercises to provide a continued supply of energy to the body to prevent the person from becoming weakened even further.
The modern term for the Seven Glands is endocrines. The endocrines form what is called the endocrine system. Endocrinology is a relatively new branch in medical science, and much remains to be discovered by modern scientists. Yet, the ancients have already furnished us with a great deal of information about the structure, nature, and purpose of the endocrine system and the immune system.

I’ve spent years trying to live a celibate lifestyle (approximately three) and I will readily admit it is very hard. I’m still in my twenties which may have something to do with it.
The main problem I have is that anger levels go up tremendously between days 14 and 28. It literally feels like there is higher pressure and energy in my body. I don’t know if I should be meditating, or eating a much lighter diet, etc.
Exercise does help, but not completely.
