Yes and part of improving oneself is to *improve* your spelling capitalization and punctuation. For some reason, you can’t be bothered to format your sentences properly right from the get go. That’s actually a very classic female trait and that’s part of the reason many will be suspicious. Men perceive that as ifantile and rude.

But you will still notice that you were welcomed right away, and Ned even asked you – politely – to tell everyone more about yourself before you start asking everyone to spoon feed you the basics of opening a business which you can look up anywhere.

You know the other day when I first stumbled upon this thread I had a “good day” so to speak hence my deep patience and politeness with John. Im gonna give you my condensed pill of 101 business:

*As a side note, consider that any business is an extremely hard thing to pull off correctly. What I am going to write is NOT to scare you away, but to give you the harsh reality.

1. Consider the market you are targeting: This has 4 parts, A) Competition, in the area and on internet. B) Market interest or potential customers. How many may there be, how will you reach them with your ads? C) Customer analysis, do they buy the products you make? How often? How much can they afford? etc. D) Is the market Growing, Stable or in decline? This is a bit hard to know, but its possible using various internet tools to get a general idea.

2. Costs/Income/Revenue, the math golden rule:
Make sure you understand ALL the costs that will exist. Know how to divide them between variable and fixed costs. See how much you will need to pay for each unit you sell, how much can you sell it for, see how many units you expect to sell, how much you need to pay every employee, ETC.
I cannot stress this enough, this is the golden rule for a simple reason: If your estimations were incorrect, but the formula used is solid, you will know when to cut your losses A LOT sooner if things go south. If the formula is incorrect, you might “hope” that things will change/get better when the math clearly screams run.

3. Dont put money in a business that you are not ready to lose:
This should be obvious, mostly because you dont want to get intro the trouble of having to close the shop because you have to choose between it and something else. Also, this will make it easier to bail out if things dont work out.

4. Set realistic expectations:
For most business, Income does not show up until 1-2 years in. In some cases if things go very well, it can 6 months. But the key thing here is that you will need to survive for a while until your shop gets known.

5. Visit your competition as a customer and try to get some information on how things are going for them.
