It was about that dark this morning as well.  I admit I wanted the university to close.  I could have used a [sleep-in] day off 😛

I’m still here and still kicking so far….sick of the rain…feast or famine here it seems.  I’d like a chance to wash my car and get my motorcycle out of the garage.

Just been catching up on the news. Unbelievable. Some 2500 cars stranded. Great to see you check in! And to Tower for putting up a beacon!

Thanks KM and Tower….and everyone else here at MAN Central!  🙂

This has by far been one of the weirdest spring seasons I’ve seen here in a long time.  Lakes went from being 10-11ft low to overflowing.  I think it’s safe to say the drought is over.  It will probably all dry up promptly on June 1 and then it will be like 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit with 1,000,000,000% humidity.  And don’t get me started on the mosquito plague that I guarantee will follow.  I hate those damn things!  I like spending time outdoors but I hate being eaten alive drop by drop of my blood.  It’s almost like being married or something….

The mosquitoes have already started breeding in and around my car. It’s horrible.

Blood sucking little bastard mosquitoes suck!

I have a bat house(occupied), and for the first year ever, purple martins (martin house occupied). I’ve been using and battling nature with nature! My clearing is now large enough to attract purple martins (a mosquitoes worst enemy). The smaller nuisance incests are attacked by legions of dragon flies that travel through the forest via way of the brook from swamps to ponds. “They say”, hey why not stop at Towers place and eat a ton of incests from his clearing, it’s on the way, why not? I use to be eaten alive before the clearing, and my dogs always had ticks. Soon enough I’ll have goats helping me with all the shrubbery and mowing the grass, while providing the raw milk needed to produce goat cheese. Homemade foods are much healthier and nutritious than processed garbage for the masses. Plus it tastes much fuller, much more flavor per gram chewed, or milliliter drunken, and no chemical smell or taste, like mega dairy chem-cow milk,,,, Yuck!!!

It’s good to see you guys are OK, when I see houses floating away in the news, I know first hand the shock and disbelief you feel after all the destruction. Aside from the flood in Vermont, we also had a tornado tear a path from Springfield to Southbridge Mass. (F-4) Most of my relatives were in its path, one lost his business, they all suffered structural damage, It was unreal to see concrete front steps to a house, and that’s all their was, and weird things like school papers from the town of Monson, and 300 year old oak trees gone, roots, stump, and all! I watched the black tornado cumulus nimbus storm pass 10 miles to my south, it sounded like a huge jet engine/s, and crinkling paper amplified, from 10 miles away!

It’s another great day to be free and alive! Enjoy it gentlemen, I know I cherish my MGHOW life, any other way is pure misery!

rain rain rain hey a sunny day then rain rain rain hey another sunny day but it still rained…..and then rained some more Its 12:06am rolling thunder….I am in Denton putting up rain gutters.. Ripping out water damaged wood laminate flooring..To be replaced next week.  You know making lemon-aid…..

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. TOWER I am waterproof.

I use to think I was waterproof too, until Irene, one of my friends was on rte 107 checking out all the flooding, 107 and a million yards of earth disappeared into the white river as it changed it’s coarse. Try swimming with twisted guardrail b~~~~, telephone poles, in a rock bolder slurry, another guy saw full size trees bopping downstream, still standing upright on their outstretched root systems, cows mixed in too, and tornadoes! F~~~ that! I saw a forest mowed down like a giant lawnmower set to 6 ft. every f~~~ing tree! For more than a 1/4 mile swath! No way can flesh survive that!

Holy cow, there’s a lot of people that live near Houston/people that used to live near here on this site!  Small world, indeed!  I’m in Nassau Bay, right next to the body of water (I assume it’s just called “Clear Lake”, though it feeds to the not-so-clear Galveston bay) that looks right at Kemah/League City!

You can add me to that list. I can look out my window and see Clear Lake.

Oh man, floods suck! My heart and good wishes go out to anyone effected. I lived through one in ’05 where my County essentially was one giant drain plug. I lost thousands of dollars worth of musical equipment which my renters insurance didn’t cover (because it was a flood) and FEMA was useless. Not to mention losing photos, letters and half my vinyl collection. Next to a house fire a flood is the next worse thing. I vowed after that to never live near a river or a creek again. Its great being able to walk out of your house and take a swim or go fishing, but it just aint worth it. I moved out the following year and live on high ground now. Its funny, because when I gave my landlord notice (who also lives on the property) they were giving me s~~~ for leaving. Acting like I was being paranoid and saying it was a “Once in 500 year flood”. But it only took five (Not 500), more years for hurricane Irene to hit which just wrecked the property. It made my flood look like kiddie pool. The property has now been abandoned ever since. The structures still stand but are uninhabitable. Its sad, because it really is a beautiful piece of land with some of the best Trout fishing around.

After Irene hit there was this one section of forest land where I live that was completely flattened. Almost like a Tunguska or crop circle event! Only this wasnt wheat but trees! The wierdest thing I ever saw.

Oh, and mosquito’s? Yeah they suck bad, but worse than them (in my opinion) is those biting f~~~ing black flies or “Midges”. Granted, they only last about a month and half, but those f~~~ers are ruthless! And they dont shy away no matter how hard you swat at them. You can bathe in Deet and they still dont care. And those bites last for weeks and itch like crazy. And how about horse flies!! If you want to get back at them just wear a black ball cap with double sided tape. Its awesome.

LOL!  That is a brilliant idea!  I never would have thought of that.  I will have to give that a try!

    Cheers from flood!

That’s similar to what we do; the baseball cap is worn backwards, but we use tangle-foot, a thick gooey sticky stuff that comes in small containers and tubes. It’s funny when you see one, then it’s gone, adding to all the other horse flies struggling around in the goo on your hat, eventually to become dead, face down in the mud!

When I don’t have my hat, I’ve become good at catching them as they land on the back of my head, I sweep open handed then at the last second I close them in my fist, then I wiggle my fingers to make sure their not released unharmed or alive!

Theirs no better satisfaction than filling a hornet’s nest with Raid, a clean shot in the hole, straight to the core works best!

One time we had yellow jackets in the ground, I used gasoline, I had no idea how big the “COLONY” was, the ground shook with a muffled boom, as fire shot from the hole, then I noticed another hole breathing fire about 10 ft. away! I found this happy little home while I was weed whacking, hundreds of them came out, and just like in the cartoons, they were all following the one bee that had his sights set on me, I was being attacked by a flying funnel cloud of angry yellow jackets! I got away by running into the basement, I went back at dusk to dish out some justice!

I always said; justice is best served between the hours of 2:00 and 4;00 AM, and best delivered while wearing camouflage…..
