I’ll start with this one – “Everything” by Alanis Morrisette, who I personally like but am fully aware of the inanity of a lot of her lyrics, just as my favorite rock band is “Yes” and I usually have no clue what the hell they’re trying to say  but it’s the music I like. The reason I mention this particular song is that it was featured in a YouTube documentary series called “Hikikomori in Japan”, as I got curious about them when Sandman released his latest video describing this phenomenon (young men and some women refusing to come out of their rooms for years, not the same as herbivore men), and when I heard the first lyric all I could think of was ‘you self-indulgent t~~~’. In the song, she is proud to be f~~~ed up, an asshole when she feels like it, likes to withhold sex, negative, just an all-around bitch, and the hell of it is that despite it I like the melody! She’s describing herself as someone you’d gnaw your arm off to get away from and the dude in the song has got to be a masochistic mangina of world-class status.

From wiki – I’ll bet women all over identified with this song: “The lead single, “Everything”, achieved major success on adult top 40 radio in America and was moderately popular elsewhere, particularly in Canada, although it failed to reach the top 40 on the U.S. Hot 100. Because the first line of the song includes the word asshole, American radio stations refused to play it, and the single version was changed to include the word nightmare instead.”

Anyone got one they’d like to share? I’m bolding the typical woman lyrics below …

I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it’s going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby and you’ve never met anyone
Who is as negative as I am sometimes

I am the wisest woman you’ve ever met
I am the kindest soul with whom you’ve connected
I have the bravest heart that you’ve ever seen and you’ve never met anyone
Who is as positive as I am sometimes

You see everything you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I’m ashamed
There’s not anything to which you can’t relate
    And you’re still here

I blame everyone else and not my own partaking
My passive aggressive-ness can be devastating
I’m terrified and mistrusting and you’ve never met anyone
Who is as closed down as I am sometimes

You see everything you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I’m ashamed
There’s not anything to which you can’t relate
    And you’re still here

What I resist persists and speaks louder than I know
What I resist you love no matter how low or high I go
I am the funniest woman that you’ve ever known
I am the dullest woman that you’ve ever known
I’m the most gorgeous woman that you’ve ever known and you’ve never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimes

You see everything you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I’m ashamed
There’s not anything to which you can’t relate
    And you’re still here

Posted about one such song in a thread I started sometime back.

    /forums/topic/the-amazing-effects-of-a-red-pill/

Though its not by someone as popular as Alanis Morrisette but still a pretty catchy tune IMO.

Ty, Triklops, good analysis of that song. “Everything” perfectly describes the mental illness a lot of women have, but your song is also classic, f~~~s some lothario in a foreign country without protection, had his kid and is romanticizing about him. I think she missed a lyric about taking him to court for child support. 🙂

Well that would have been possible if Anthonio stuck around like a white knight mangina. Think he was a MGTOW and saw that coming a mile away. No protection..just her word that she’ll take a pill. Haha..right! Seeya Annie!

    Smart motherf~~~er indeed 😀

I wish I could have seen them as well.  They were huge when I was just a kid.  Bonham died when I was in junior high.  Page is one of my really big influences for guitar. The planets definitely aligned with that formula that Page and Jones put together.  There will never be another Zep.

Well I did get to see Plant on a solo tour in the 80s.  I also saw Page with Paul Rodgers in The Firm back in the 80s as well.  I am also a huge  Free/Bad Co. fan too.  It’s  all rock ‘n roll man!

@gonegalt – thanks for the Alanis vid man!  God I LOVE her! Pant pant…  (oh…sorry)  <MGTOW MODE ON>

    Whew!!! Thats better!!

I posted this in the funny category but I will toss it up here, maybe some of you old schoolers will remember this.

    ///////////////////////////////

This is an OLD song but I thought I would dredge up the lyrics for you younger men so you will learn well.  You see… we are the brainless, knuckle-dragging pussy chasers and THEY are the smart, wiley ones who have it all figured out!

With MGTOW – we can change that – one man at a time….

    =======
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I know what boys like
    I’ve got what boys like
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I see them looking
    I make them want me
    I like to tease them
    They want to touch me
    I never let them
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I know what boys like
    Boys like, boys like me
    But you, you’re special
    (I might let you)
    You’re so much different
    (I might let you)
    Ohh, would you like that
    (I might let you)
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I know what boys like
I know what’s on their mind
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    They talk about me
    I got my cat moves
    That so upsets them
    Zippers and buttons
    Fun to frustrate them
    They get so angry
    Like pouty children
    Denied their candy
    I laugh right at them
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I know what boys like
    Boys like, boys like me
    I feel sad now
    (I will let you)
    Sorry, I teased you
    (I will let you)
    This time I mean it
    (I will let you)
    Anything you want
    (You can trust me)
    I really want to
    (You can trust me)
    How would you like it?
    (You can trust me)
    Sucker, ha, ha, ha
    I know what boys like
    I know what guys want
    I know what boys like
    Boys like, boys like me

    She’s Always A Woman

She can kill with a smile

She can wound with her eyes

She can ruin your faith with her casual lies

And she only reveals what she wants you to see

    She hides like a child

But she’s always a woman to me

She can lead you to love

She can take you or leave you

She can ask for the truth

    But she’ll never believe

And she’ll take what you give her as long as it’s free

Yeah, she steals like a thief

But she’s always a woman to me

    [Chorus:]

Oh, she takes care of herself

She can wait if she wants

    She’s ahead of her time

Oh, and she never gives out

    And she never gives in

    She just changes her mind

    She will promise you more

    Than the Garden of Eden

    Then she’ll carelessly cut you

    And laugh while you’re bleedin’

But she’ll bring out the best

And the worst you can be

    Blame it all on yourself

Cause she’s always a woman to me

    [Chorus:]

Oh, she takes care of herself

She can wait if she wants

    She’s ahead of her time

Oh, and she never gives out

    And she never gives in

    She just changes her mind

    She is frequently kind

    And she’s suddenly cruel

She can do as she pleases

    She’s nobody’s fool

    But she can’t be convicted

    She’s earned her degree

And the most she will do

    Is throw shadows at you

But she’s always a woman to me

    @himeo – nice one!!

@Soul man – ty for reminding me of that one. I was a freshman at LSU when Physical Graffiti was released, unreal, but even then Yes transcended them in my eyes/ears/mind. LZ is my 2nd favorite rock band, no doubt.

@unencumbered: here’s the video to that song- I hate it! lol

The page where I copied the lyrics from apparently had some serious HTML coding.  Sorry about that!  Fixed it 😛

Maybe the best lyrics taken out of context after the Red Pill:

The Talking Heads-Psycho Killer. Late 70’s.

    Paraphrasing the lyrics:

You start a conversation but you can’t even finish it.

You’re talking a lot but you’re not sayin’ anything.

When I have nothing to say my lips are sealed.

Say something once…why say it again?

I’m not quite sure how to embed links but here’s an attempt (from a 1980 live performance):

Covers by Cage the Elephant  and Velvet Revolver stink. All of you are going to think I’m borderline psychotic but the best cover is by The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra:

@gonegalt: I’m an LSU grad myself…got a BS there then an MS from the Vet School. Nearly got two Ph.D’s but that was wrecked by my second wife Lucifer and my step-demon (her daughter) Satanette.

I’m definitely with you with Yes (Roundabout still gives me chills) and Led Z (you have to see their later version of When the Levee Breaks complete with banjo, mandolin, and hurdy gurdy) but I can’t see Alanis Morrisette, or at least not that song. It might serve a useful purpose for the forceful extraction of information from prisoners of war but Code Pink and the UN will go mad when they all come down with projectile diarrhea.
