@op: You are exactly correct. I had the same exact feeling, although I can’t say I didn’t know why I felt that way. It was because I did a bunch of sweeping under the rug of s~~~ I didn’t like but put up with. When the f~~~ing rug was off the floor and staring at you at eye level, you know it’s time to go.

I’m going to disagree slightly. It’s absolutely important to listen to your feelings, but don’t act on your feelings. Act on facts.

Our wives didn’t respect us, didn’t love us, and didn’t show appreciated for all the did because the acted on their feelings, not their facts. She’ll tell you she wants a divorce because she isn’t in love with you anymore (a feeling)…completely ignoring the commitment she made and all the actions you do to demonstrate your love to her (facts). She’ll go off and sleep with Chad because it feels right, even though the fact is that it’s absolutely wrong.

Our feelings should be our push to reevaluate the facts and change course if needed. Or do nothing if our feelings are wrong. My failures in my marriage were not because I ignored my feelings, but because I ignored the facts that feelings were telling me to pay attention to.

It’s true. If I had known what I know now and had the b~~~~ I have now to walk away for those f~~~ing relationships when all the signs were there.

That’s how we learn, through pain.

We were indoctrinated by people, media, school to turn the other cheek because they are women and we should be a ‘gentleman.’ Meanwhile chivalry is dead because women have no virtue.

Absolutely right, there is nothing that can compare to that good ole “gut feeling”. I think all of us felt that one way or another. For Me in my previous marriage i was never “Good enough”, my ex didn’t even have to say those words. It was always “well you should’ve done this” or “this has to be done this way”. I remember vividly being talked down to like a kindergarten kid on how to “Properly wash dishes”. That was something else.

The female brain is never quite happy, nor will it ever be fulfilled.

When I was younger I didn’t trust “feelings.” Now I know better. Gut feelings and first impressions are caused by intuition. Its a part of the brain that is not used in school. They say we use only about 10% of the brain. Well, that other 90% is doing something and it knows when things are bad for you. The problem is that it happens at an unconscious level and your not sure why “something doesn’t feel right,” but believe me “something isn’t right.”

And that intuition is based on fact and reasoning by your brain on a subconscious level. It should not be ignored, because it’s something developed over millenia through evolution. That intuition likely kept your ancestors alive. Ignore or dismiss it at your own peril.

This is what ended my 3 year marriage, it will sound a stupid reason to most people in the world but not me.

I knew things had become completely one sided. One day I went to work and forgot a very important letter at home. My wife was at home doing nothing as usual so I called her and asked if she could walk to the post office (100 yards from our house) and post the letter registered mail as it was extremely important and had to be sent that day. I then texted her at lunch time with a reminder as I was worried she would use the “I forgot” excuse. Anyway I got home that evening and the letter was sat in the kicthen where I left it, when I confronted her she had no justified reason to why she didn’t post it.

A couple of days later I was waiting in the house for her to return home, she must have known something was up when she walked in and saw me sat there waiting. I told her I was filing for a divorce as I wasn’t prepared to go to work everyday for someone that is so ungrateful.

As others have mentioned, when you first meet a women they will be more than satisfied with what you have to offer them. As time goes on, they will expect more and more but completely forget that when they met you,
They had absolutely nothing.
