Now i’m not completely sold on the sex robot discussion as some are. I’m more of a “try before you buy” kind of guy. The idea of being intimate with a machine/computer would require an actual test run (insert guinea pig plea).

However this article made me laugh… seriously? I’m pretty sure the “equipment” will have a kill switch or some kind of easily accessible power supply. Is there such a thing as artificial necrophilia? Maybe there will be lol link below:

Ex Machina was a movie for the masses. It did nothing ground breaking that Mary Shelly hadn’t done in the original Frankenstein. Create a murderous automaton.

Try “She”, a much more in depth look at how people and machines could interact in the future. It is a great film with a star studded cast and directed by Spike Jonze.

Interestingly, in both films the feminists made sure that the female outgrew the male and went on to a higher level of conciousness.

Stupid article. First, it talked about two different threats without drawing a clear distinction between the two. The first being AI becoming self aware and harming humans for it’s own benefit. Although I work with computers, I don’t really feel qualified to state whether that’s realistic or not.

The second is the possibility that a robot can be hacked and instructed program to harm you. Of course this is possible. But a rather dumb way to kill someone if you actually think about it. First off, I don’t think robots anywhere near having the capability of movement required to do that. I could be wrong. I also doubt there is enough money in hacking sex robots, since there are so few on the market. Even then, hacking usually leaves a trail. More importantly, there are much cheaper and easier ways to have someone murdered, then hiring a program to hack a sex robot. When we reached a point where robots are capable of holding and using weapons, we are surely going to have black market access to drones that fly into your home and shoot you…leaving no trail.

Ok. Then do it.

This post was along the lines of something I have been thinking about and in conjunction with Briffaults law.
